I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Philia Lodge. It has a very homely feel and all the staff are caring, friendly and very professional.
Always so welcoming - a pleasure to visit and spend time with my mum in such a warm and caring environment. All the staff are always working extremely hard to ensure all residents receive the greatest care and attention. Thank you for all that you do.
My dad is getting on a lot better now it seems, talking a lot more now and eating well. Which is all good, thanks!
Visiting Mum, new staff met for the first time. Very happy with the care for Mum.
The new staff are really good, listen to concerns from the family, come to resident as soon as needed.
Staff are excellent with Mum, especially managing her mood swings. The recent renovations have made a great improvement both to the general areas and Mum's room. The social media site is invaluable to see what happens during the week, I love to see Mum's smile when she's doing activities.
After having one grandmother in Philia, it felt right to our family to see if my other grandmother could gain a place here. It's been almost a year since Nan moved here and the care is amazing. Nan is happy, healthy and more importantly, very well looked after. Philia feels like an extension to our family!
Philia Lodge has been a home for my father-in-law. He is content and very happy here. Philia Lodge are amazing and the staff work hard to provide amazing care for everyone. They are in constant contact regarding all elements of care.
My father has been at Philia Lodge since July 2023. In that time, I have been extremely impressed by the standard of care provided to him. The staff at Philia Lodge are exceptional. All staff, from the management to the carers and the domestic staff are personable, attentive, caring and thoughtful. They are, without doubt, the main assets of this establishment, and I have no concerns regarding my father's welfare and general care. In addition, the home is undergoing major decoration and refurbishment, including the replacement of all resident's bedroom furniture. These improvements have greatly improved the environment for the residents and demonstrate the level of care provided. To conclude, I have been extremely impressed with the level of care provided to my father. I have nothing but praise for the staff, and absolutely no concerns for the future care of my father.
Our mother has been with the care home now since approximately September last year and I highly recommend the home to anyone thinking of finding a home for their loved one. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are excellent and are always there to help and to give advice when ever you need them. And I would like to take the time to thank them all for everything that they do. You always get a straight answer to any questions you ask.
Everyone has always looked after me and my mother very well. Although it has been very difficult over the past few months with Covid etc. But we have always been informed and allowed to visit. A big thank you to everyone.
We are three sisters who had the unenviable decision of putting our Mum in a care home. We decided that Philia Lodge would be the most suitable, and how glad we were that we chose this home! The manager and her team of wonderful staff made Mum's stay like a home from home. Mum was treated with love, care and dignity, and when covid made visits very difficult, the staff filled in for us showing Mum so much love and affection. We would never hesitate in recommending this care home as it truly is in our opinion the best care home by far!
The whole experience has been lovely. This is a truly caring place. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I'd recommend Philia Lodge to everyone.
My mum has been in Philia for 4 years and over that period of time, I have nothing but praise for the staff and leadership of the home. Mum has been on end of life care at least 4 times and every time, the care and support she has been given has meant she had continued to live and enjoy a limited quality of life. Mum is always clean and well fed and her skin integrity is good.
Always welcomed into the home with teas or coffee. The staff always happy manager always helpful and happy. Very clean never any nasty smells. My cousin was happy to be there.
Philia has been a godsend for my darling mother. The staff are excellent, very caring and welcoming. My mother has advanced dementia, a very heartbreaking illness. I visit regularly and I am welcomed and provided with detailed information from the staff. I receive phone calls from supervisors for any incidents and when asked, good updates are provided to my questions. They are busy, but very caring staff. They have my utmost respect bless them. What a wonderful job they do. A cuppa tea is not great lol. Probably used to making for the residents.
This is a good care home and staff work well with residents. Difficult to comment any further without longer observation. It sometimes appears that residents could benefit from more interaction, rather than being in front of the TV. However, without being present throughout the day, it could just appear this way. Activities do take place, but possibly with increased funds/staff, it could be more frequent.
I really can't say enough to praise Philia Lodge - especially their manager and activity coordinator. For what was the most difficult time in my family's history, they were the guardian angels who helped guide us through it. When my father was no longer able to care for my mother, and she needed specialist care, Philia Lodge went far beyond any expectations in supporting and caring for the both of them, and for us, their children, when we needed it. Philia Lodge has a lovely warm household feel which is noticeable as soon as you go in. - eliminating any concerns we had about my mother going into sanitised care. The residents' rooms are like bedrooms which can be personalised and really allow you to bring the reminders and comforts for your loved ones! They worked hard to stimulate and engage my dementia-suffering mother. I was also incredibly impressed by the small touches they gave towards her dignity at a time when she couldn't care for herself. A wonderful wonderful place!
As a family, we'd always dreaded any of us having to go into a care home. However, right from the moment we set foot in Philia Lodge, we knew Mum was in a good place. The staff at Philia Lodge are extremely respectful of all their residents, no matter what their condition. Every staff member treats every resident with tenderness and respect that left me in tears. I believe this is in no small part due to the manager, who runs a tight ship and expects everyone to operate to the same high standard she does. We also adored another member of staff, who is a national treasure as far as I'm concerned, and her engagement with our mother was most welcome. Sadly, the respite care turned all too rapidly into end-of-life care. The staff were very helpful towards us, asking us kindly if we wanted to be informed of what was happening, what to expect, and what they would be doing to ensure my mother's passing was as peaceful as possible. Their calm, warm helpful manner helped us through a very difficult time.
