View Full Details of Bernash Care HomeWe have moved my mum in Jan 2025 to the home. We have been very impressed with the care she has received. There are plenty of activities for her to join in with. They decorate the home depending on whats being celebrated ie - valentines, Easter, mothers day. It makes it looking very cheerful. If anything has happened to mum they will ring and inform me of whats happened. Very happy that mum has moved here.
My mother-in-law moved to this home in Jan 2025. We have been very impressed with the level of care she has received. Nothing is too much trouble and she is well looked after. It can be very stressful moving loved ones into a home but the staff have helped us all the way. There are lots of activities for her to join in with and there is always something going on. They decorate the home when celebrating different holidays which make it.
My mum has dementia and went in for a little respite and 6months later still at Bernash. The manager and the team are amazing and made the whole transition as smoothly as possible. The place is clean and tidy . Home cooked food and activities always going on . If it wasn't for Bernash I'm not sure what situation my mum would have been in now . I can now enjoy quality time with mum rather than being her carer , she is safe and I sleep much better at night knowing she has the support and care 24/7 which I'm unable to provide .
My Dad did not want to go into a care home, he had been independent since my Mum died and was adamant that he could look after himself, but after a stay in hospital it was clear that he could not go back home. He did not make life easy for the staff at Bernash but they were unfailing patient in caring for him and eventually they won him over. As a family we were very happy with the care he received at Bernash. The staff are great and there always appeared to be a happy and settled team on who they understood the needs of the residents.
My mum was well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. The staff are always patient and kind. Bernash was always a clean and tidy environment. My mum enjoyed the activities that were provided.
The staff at Bernash Care Home always show my cousin kindness and respect. sorry to say not always afforded to them by my cousin. I always receive a warm welcome from the staff when I visit. They have a hard job. Thank you!
I found that the care and treatment I received whilst spending a month in respite care whilst my wife was in hospital was absolutely first class. All the members of staff were kind, caring and compassionate. They dealt with all my requests with cheerfulness and efficiency.
I visited recently and was not looking forward to it as my grandmother had been moved into Bernash Care Home. I should have had no worries at all as the service was amazing and the care shown to my family member was of the best quality. The staff really care - especially the manager who has the patience of a saint. My grandmother has settled well and I now know that she is in the best place and in the safest pair of hands.
My mother has been living in Bernash Care Home for about six months. The prospect of transferring her from her own home into care was distressing, but as soon as the manager and her team were involved they did everything they could to carry the burden of the process, taking exceptional care of my mother and us as a family, making the move as easy as possible for all concerned. Staff's expertise is reassuring. This really is a ‘care’ home. Every member of staff, whether the manager, the care team/leaders, or those responsible for finance, catering, maintenance or cleaning, are friendly and seem to really know and care for my mother, understanding her unique needs, behaviours and interests and giving her time and attention. Bernash is welcoming to family and friends, and open and thorough in its communication. I have visited quite a few specialist care facilities, but none have compared with Bernash in terms of the sense of family and genuine feeing of ‘home’ that it provides.
My sister and I have nothing but praise for the way our mum was looked after. Mum went into Bernash Care Home in 2021 and passed away in February 2023 and during that time the care she received was exceptional. We visited regularly and we were always welcomed warmly by the staff. We witnessed residents treated with dignity and respect. Every concern we had was dealt with immediately and with professionalism. Mum's final few weeks were difficult because she was in pain but the staff went above and beyond to make her comfortable. We have huge respect for the job the manager and her team do and are incredibly thankful Mum was able to spend her last years at Bernash.
The staff at Bernash cared for my uncle for just over 2 years until his death in February 2023. This is the first care home I have been in that doesn't have unpleasant smells, I never heard a raised voice all I heard was laughter, kindness and compassion for residents and their families. We were always made welcome, my uncle said the food was like being in a 5-star hotel. He had lots of fun and laughter with the staff and they with him. The care home communal areas were always clean as was my uncle's bedroom and bathroom kept spotlessly clean. His personal care by the staff was also done on a daily basis and clean clothes everyday put on him. He could be difficult because of his dementia but the staff was patient and kind. I cannot recommend this care home and its staff highly enough. The care and compassion they show are exemplary. Thank you all at Bernash you are amazing we are forever grateful.
After many years of despair, my 91-year-old sister refused to leave her home, angry with us for even suggesting she did. Her husband having died, at every visit, she spoke of loneliness. I am the nearest relative, but 20 miles away; she has no family of her own. No one living nearby. She is a very sociable being, and intruded on neighbours, whether they wanted her or not! Out wandering at night, 2 am, moving neighbours recycling bins to look for the cat! Brought home in a police car, having been found wandering in a large store a fair distance away. One next-door neighbour very kindly said he would look out for her, which ended up with him going over to her house - often, doors left open, seeing no lights on, although dark, and she was asleep in bed! Then she started to fall, day and at night but couldn't get up -horrendous! Then subsidence struck. Work couldn't be done with her in the home. That she let us move her is an absolute miracle! She's no longer lonely and feels happy and secure!
Visiting my grandad at Bernash has always been a very pleasant experience. The staff are always so friendly, funny and supportive. They notice the smallest details and always go the extra mile to dignify, humanise, comfort and support all residents. I cannot thank them enough for everything they've done to help my family, especially with my grandad approaching his final days - they've made it comfortable and intimate without straying from professionalism.
Lovely, friendly staff who genuinely care about the residents. It has a welcome environment and a homely feel. Residents seem to be happy there and are treated well. The food is good and well-prepared and the home is clean.
My auntie Joyce is a resident at Bernash and I just want to say what a lovely care home this is. The staff are so friendly and are always there to help with anything. They go above and beyond to make the residents happy. The home is always happy and always appears a fun place to be. I look forward to my visits.
My mum was a resident at Bernash Care Home from April 2022 until December 2022 although only a short time we could not fault the care that she received, all of the staff were professional approachable and friendly, and you could see that all of the resident's happiness and well-being was the staff's main priority. The care that mum received was second to none with good home-cooked meals that looked tasty. Mum was very happy at the home and the family was more than happy with how Bernashs staff looked after mum in the last few days as we were kept informed as to what was happening, and the home was very accommodating when family members wanted to say their goodbyes nothing was too much trouble. We chose this home because it was small and how friendly the staff were when we first viewed although some of the rooms are a bit dated they felt homely but always clean. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care they provided and would recommend Bernash to anyone.
Bernash Care Home is absolutely amazing. How all the staff in there cope, is brilliant.
Ever since mum moved into Bernash Care Home she has been given the best care and attention we could have wished for. All of the team are very professional and consistently demonstrate that Mum's happiness and well-being are their primary concern. It is very obvious to us that not only do they treat mum with dignity and compassion but that they have great affection for her. We are so delighted we choose Bernash.
Our review for my husband, with the Manager at Bernash was fantastic. I was impressed with the knowledge and enthusiasm the staff had with us. They covered all areas of care that my husband has/needs. I am satisfied with the care and attention my husband gets and would definitely recommend Bernash to people.
When looking initially for a home for my dad, Bernash stood out as being the most friendly and homely of them all. We have been very happy with the care and support given to my dad, who has now been there for three years. All the staff are lovely and great with the residents. Always activities going on for the residents to join in.
