View Full Details of Westerleigh Residential HomeOn visiting the home you are always greeted by the friendly staff and are immediately impressed by the sparkling cleanliness of the home on entering it. All of the staff are very approachable and do their very best to find lost clothing and spectacles which my sister often loses. I am given regular phone calls and updates and regularly asked if there are any provblems I'd like to discuss. My sister can be very difficlt on occaions but is always treated with respect and especually understanding. I could recommend this home to anyone who has a loved one who requires permanent care. They will be very well looked after.
Mainly chose this home because it was close so family visit's were easier. Staff are friendly and polite, take care of the residents well.
I'm impressed by the standard of care shown by staff. I witness staff interacting with my Dad and other residents in a lovely manner. I can see that all staff, as well as the carers, treat the residents in a friendly manner and that they keep an eye on the residents to make sure they are OK. Carers keep me updated if any medical issues crop up with my Dad's health and contact me to update his care plan. Carers ensure my Dad is clean and dressed and know his dietary likes and dislikes. They ensure he gets his daily newspaper and tell me he eats better when he has his meals in the dining room. I can see that Dad enjoys the activities, especially when singers are invited to the home as he likes to listen to the music. My Dad also likes to sit in the movie lounge room and I see him chatting with other residents.
I do believe that Westerleigh Residential Home is as good as it gets. I've been married for 56 years and I'm confident that she could not have better care. I can rest easy knowing she's in safe and caring hands.
This is a home in a 'real sense'. It's one big family, they don't have patients or residents, everybody knows each other, staff, nurses, cleaners, managers, residents and the visitors. The staff miss nothing and keep track of everything but it isn't like a hospital, it's just like a 'home'!
Mam came into care and the care has been exceptional. Everyone is so friendly towards all the family. Nothing is a problem to them and go beyond themselves to make Mam settled. The manageress is fantastic to point of decorating Mam's room to help Mam settle more. As she's finding the move into care hard and frustrating as she has dementia. I would recommend Mam's care home to anyone who is wanting their loved ones to be cared for.
My mother has always been looked after well. At times of trouble, the care home has always communicated closely with me and my sister, and I feel she is safe at the care home and have no hesitation in saying she is well looked after. Staff always communicate any changes in behaviour and routines well. My mother is happy as she can be at the care home.
Generally seems very good, but noticed a couple of things. Care nurse came with us when visiting Aunty. I'd bought her some paints and brushes. Care nurse said she would do it with Aunty and when I revisited, nothing had been done. She can't read or even watch TV so I thought that painting might give her an interest. I'm disappointed no one has sat with her to do it with her.
This is the fourth care home my mother has been in in the last 18 months, granted two of those were for rehab after falls. Of all four care homes - this is the only one she has settled into and feels safe, comfortable and happy.
My mam has been in your care since June 2024 after being discharged from Auckland Park Hospital. She has had her moments in your care and I am very happy with the hospitality she is receiving. Everything from meals to activities. I realize she is a difficult person, has a short temper (always has). Lashes out, throws things and can get very argumentative at times. All the staff I have met in the home are brilliant - I can't fault them. She had a few issues and I received calls every time, emergency services called sometimes taken through to the hospital - I was informed. The Care and Compassion of the staff is second to none. Even Elvis Pressley is entertaining the residents.
Pleased with the care Mam receives and happy with communication regarding Mam's care through the staff. Staff always helpful and keep us updated regarding Mam's well-being. Any medical assistance they ring the GP and always keep us informed.
My uncle has been in Westerleigh for nearly a year. He's happy, content and well looked after. He's been falling a little recently and the staff are going out of their way to make sure he is cared for and most importantly safe. All of the staff, without exception, are brilliant, I cannot praise them enough. Thank you!
Pleased with the care my mother receives, she is well looked after, very good communication between myself and the staff, nothing is a bother, the staff are very friendly, if she needs any medical assistance they ring the GP or community matron straight away to make sure she is seen to asap.
Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was a trouble. I was even invited to have lunch with my relative and told I could phone anytime and I could have a chat with her. I am now very content knowing she is happy there and being taken good care of.
I highly recommend Westerleigh. The staff are so friendly and very helpful and kind. The manager is the same, and nothing is a problem; he is always happy to help. The home is always decorated for any occasion, i.e. Xmas, which is really nice.
My mam has been in Westerleigh for six years now. The staff are so caring and friendly, from management right down to the care and domestic staff. My mam can be quite anxious and screams and shouts, but the staff still talk her quietly down and give her so much affection. Nothing is a problem for the staff, I can go to any staff with a problem, and they will sort it out for me.
The care and attention my brother received at Westerleigh Residential Home were absolutely fantastic. Listened to both my brother and myself if we had concerns. I would definitely recommend Westerleigh. In the last five days leading up to my brother's death, the carers were so caring and gave my brother his dignity in their care and were so very supportive to myself.
My mam has been in the home a few times and our family are very, very impressed with all management and staff. She is very well looked after and the staff help her without being asked. The home is very welcoming and very, very clean. When I ring up to ask how Mam is, the staff are very good and know everything that I ask about. Staff have taken Mam to appointments without any questions asked, they are lovely with her.
Management and staff are all very approachable, helpful and friendly. They are always willing to help or answer questions. The quality of care seems to be excellent.
