View Full Details of Silver TreesMy Mum has been in this home for 2 years and has been on the nursing floor for 20 months. The care she has received has been wonderful, they show her the upmost respect and respect her dignity. She is bed bound and cannot do anything for herself but is very happy here and knows she is in the best place, she smiles everyday which means so much to us, we visit her a lot, the staff are always so helpful and kind to us too. The staff are very understanding of her needs both from the nursing staff and management. If we have any problems, which are very few they are sorted very quickly. Her washing is always done very quickly to a good standard and her room is kept clean. We are glad she's in this home.
Excellent thoughtful staff who put the needs of my mum and other residents at the centre of any decision making.
My husband has been in Silver Trees 3 months. He is bed ridden and needs 24 hours care. I've visited everyday and love the way all the staff treat my husband. All of the staff from bottom to top are so caring, friendly and cheerful. This makes such a difference when a person is in bed 24/7. They all make him smile so I know he is well looked after. I would like to thank all the staff and management for making a difficult time a little easier.
My mother has been in Silver Trees since September 2022. During this time she has had some episodes where she has needed medical treatment. Everything was managed as expected. Normal day to day care has been excellent and mum has been looked after very well in her time there. Mum does not need for anything and is very comfortable there. The staff have been very good and the Deputy Manager has been excellent in ensuring mum has been looked after so well. Mum gets on well with her. We have been very pleased with the care given to my mum that we have just moved my mother in law into the same care home and once again the Deputy Manager made the transfer from the hospital seamless. What a relief. It is difficult to comment on value for money as private care is very expensive.
Very good care home with lovely dedicated staff. Sometimes difficult to park when visiting.
My Father has been resident at Silver Trees since April 2024 following a period in hospital. The management and staff have been fantastic all the way through Dad's assessment period and then whilst he got used to his new environment. The staff continue to look after and care for dad really well. He seems very settled and is in so much better physical health than when he first arrived. Management are very efficient in keeping me and the family updated with any news or any changes and are extremely approachable. We always receive prompt replies to any enquiries or assistance we need. The management and staff hosted a residents and family Christmas meal at the care home which was a great few hours. Since dad has been resident there have also been a number of family meetings/updates too. Very happy with all aspects at Silver Trees.
I was only at Silver Trees for a fortnight after a hip replacement. I found the stay completely suited to what I needed to get back on my mobility and could not fault any of the staff who were all excellent, especially the assistant manager and my keyworker.
The team ensured Mum was made comfortable. The domestic team were very helpful. The nursing staff went above and beyond to help Mum with her pain in her last days. Can't fault anything.
Our dad was a resident for 4 months. The home went above and beyond supporting us to get Dad out of hospital. We had some issues settling in to begin with as Dad moved in on a bank holiday weekend and it took a few days to get the right equipment set up. However, the carers worked really hard to get to know Dad. Dad struggled with his communication and mobility but the carers were always patient and quick to respond when he needed them. We are very fortunate to live close by so we were able to visit regularly and if Dad ever had any issues we took this to management and these were dealt with. After about 3 months we had to move Dad to the nursing floor. This concerned us but again after the first few tricky days, they got to know him and his needs. We were pleased with the support we received as a family and especially in his final few days we couldn't have asked for more. Overall we had a very positive experience and silver trees made a very difficult time more manageable.
The manager and her team have been incredibly kind and patient with my mother who hasn't been the easiest resident! She wanted to come home after a week but whenever I visit her she has nothing but praise for all of the staff. The management have been wonderful and has always been available to give me advice and to let me know how Mum is doing. My sister looked at 8 care homes before choosing Silver Trees. It was definitely the right choice.
My mother has been at Silver Trees for six months, and the staff have been wonderful in getting her through the settling-in period. The home always feels vibrant, with plenty of staff on hand and the atmosphere is always cheerful, there is definitely a "can do" attitude. The management deals with any issues promptly and effectively, it gives me confidence that my mother is cared for in the best possible way, I don't think I could ask for more.
Dad moved into Silver Trees following the death of his wife in 2021. They had been married for 67 years and adjusting to life without her and going into care was difficult for Dad. The staff welcomed him and helped him to settle in. As well as day-to-day help, they would arrange patient transport and a member of staff to go with him to hospital visits, this was a great help. Dad could be challenging at times but he was treated with care and kindness by all at Silver Tees which he came to regard as his home until his death in September. Special thanks to the deputy manager who made such a difference to Dad and us as a family. Thank you.
My stepmother has been a resident at Silver Trees for around 6 months. She always said 'Never put me in a care home', but following a month in hospital and a month in respite care, she completely changed her mind! The management and staff are wonderful, they always have time for you. The carers are fantastic, thoughtful, caring, happy and on-hand to help at any time. I never thought I would see my step-mother socialising and joining in with activities, but with the amazing activities co-ordinator, encouraging everyone to join in, she is keen to sing along, play bingo, exercise and get active, she's really got her zest for life back! She's also managed to gain weight, eating in the dining area encourages good healthy eating and it's a lovely sociable time for them all. She is always telling me how happy she is and how she loves the 'girls' that look after her. Silver Trees is perfect for us, it's homely and friendly and my stepmother calls it her home, what more could I ask for.
All very good. It was my first time at having respite care to give my wife a break and I was very happy with my stay. I will go back for more respite care later in the year.
My mother was resident at Silver Trees for just under two years before she passed away in December 2023. I have nothing but admiration for the staff, they are caring and considerate and treat the residents as individuals. The food is excellent and the rooms and communal areas are kept very clean. The entertainment is exceptional, they try so hard to involve everyone. From beach parties in the dining room (mocktails, blow-up palm trees and garlands) to a good old game of Bingo - special shout out to the staff member who arranges it all. I believe that the care home is very well managed and that they fully met my mum's needs. I cannot thank the staff enough for the compassion they showed both to me and my mother during her final hours. I will be forever grateful to them. I could not have chosen a better home. Thank you all so much.
Mum stayed at Silver Trees for five weeks of convalescence following a week in hospital after a fall. The deputy manager was very helpful from our initial enquiry and saw that Mum’s needs were met and communicated everything to us. Mum was happy and well cared for and found all the staff very kind and professional. She was able to return home after her stay.
My beloved mum passed away 30 October. I travelled routinely from US to England. I am grateful to have had quality time with her during her last year. The carers treated my mother with such care and compassion. I often noticed their emotions upon their faces. My mum was not a statistic but a much loved patient. I got to know all of the carers and felt a close connection with them. I could have not chosen a more caring home. May God bless you for enabling my mum to die with dignity.
My dad came to Silver Trees, upon the nursing floor, just over a year ago after a stay at another care home where he deteriorated. His condition improved at Silver Trees and this was due to the kind, compassionate care the staff gave him. The staff formed a good relationship with him, having a joke together and he always had a smile for them. Knowing that the staff created this bond with him gave the family peace of mind that he was being well cared for. Nothing was too much trouble and staff demonstrated attentiveness and dignity. Families are encouraged to furnish their loved ones' rooms to provide familiarity within their surroundings and view Silver Trees as their own home. The catering is good and my dad would have been the first one to complain if it wasn’t up to scratch because he loved his food. The time my dad spent at Silver Trees with the staff became a second home for my family and will be truly missed. We will be forever grateful
I attended Silver Trees for two weeks of respite. I did not like a man washing my private parts. I struggled to understand some of the staff. I did enjoy having a bath and I became fond of one or two staff. I felt the staff were overworked and so I found it difficult to form a routine.
We cannot fault Silver Trees - the care and love they showed my mother-in-law was so different to the stories one hears of poor care in the sector. She was welcomed as part of their community from admission, and her end-of-life care was also exemplary. In addition to this the support they gave us as a family after the death of our beloved parent went way beyond their duty of care and was much appreciated.
