View Full Details of Torry Nursing HomeThe Torry Care Home go above and beyond for the residents, I noticed how very clean my sister's room and all over the home is, so nice to get such a wide range of food for all needs, staff when we go into vist always offer us tea and coffee, and the activities they get are just brilliant.
No issues. My mum settled in really well and seems happy. The staff are very helpful and friendly including the handyman team, I've asked them to do quite a few jobs in my mums room and been really happy with them. The staff are all very approachable and willing to help if I go to them with any questions regarding my mums care.
Excellent care, staff go beyond for residents. Plenty of activities and outings. Aunt not happy with food, has been given choice of other foods but says she is not asked. Have told her to ask if she's not happy with what is not to her liking on those days. As a family we are very happy with the care provided
I am more than happy with my dad's care apart from the clothing issue it clearly states in his room that his washing goes home but still over half of my dad's clothes are missing, I spent more money last month on more clothes for him and they have gone walk about too which is very disappointing and frustrating.
The family are totally comfortable and continue to be happy with Mum's care. The staff are attentive to both her and our needs and create a happy atmosphere and environment. Entertainment and activities are of a high quality and standard and the interaction with the residents is to be commended.
My father has been in Torry Nursing Home for 2 1/2 years. His care is excellent, the staff are quick to notice any change in his health and take immediate action- contact Doctor and me etc. His daily living needs are met also his mental health and socialising needs. There are outings, musical afternoons, bingo and internet activities i.e Mahjong, word search, sudoku etc. Unfortunately his hearing aids twice went missing but were found before going into the laundry and all staff have been reminded to check for them at bed time. No issues otherwise.
I have no concerns regarding my father staying within this care home. He himself does not display any behaviours that would make me think he felt unsafe or unhappy therefore the high rating. Meals can sometimes be a bit fancy for Dad but that is only my opinion and may be alright for others. Staff have taken this onboard and adapt his menus to something of his liking. Activities are abundant with something on every day organised by the activity coordinators who do a brilliant job and aim to involve everyone. Families are kept updated on events and encouraged to participate when they can. Staff and manager are all approachable and willing to listen to any queries or concerns through social media, telephone, email or in person. Regular family meetings held where all are invited, this gives staff the opportunity to advise of developments, activities, upcoming events etc. Regular care reviews carried out on a platform of your choice. Overall I have no negative comments to make.
My overall experience with Torry Care Home is beyond amazing. The care home managers have made the care home a pleasant place and I can now phone the home and speak to either of them and ask how my grandpa is doing. They are doing an amazing job.
In general, we are always happy with the standard of care for my mother. Safe environment and well catered for. Good to see lift now working. Nice to see entertainment and parties for residents. Keep up the good work, thank you!
I can’t see my aunt as often as I would like as I live at the other end of the country, but she seems to be happy, mentally alert and well looked after when I do manage to visit her. The staff always seem cheerful and attentive to the residents.
My mum has been in Torry Nursing Home for about five months now, and I’m very happy with the services provided. My mum is unable to participate in the activities and largely confined to bed, but the staff, from the manager to the cleaners, are all very friendly. The care home is always clean and tidy, and staff communicate well on any ongoing medical issues.
I visited the care home on Wednesday 29th February and was extremely pleased to see that my relative was up and had his hair cut, was clean and tidy and appeared relaxed and happy. Staff were attentive to the resident's needs and were visible at all times.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and my wife is happy and well looked after. She enjoys the entertainment and trips out on the minibus. I am kept updated on her health and any changes to her medication.
Since there has been a change over of senior staff on my mum’s unit, there has been a huge improvement in the service. Friendly staff who are very helpful and kind. No complaints at all and it is reassuring that my mum is being well looked after.
My uncle can be very challenging and the staff manage to make his care look easy. They know what his triggers are and how to calm him down so we are very happy with the care and support. The staff updates us on a regular basis and if we need to discuss anything the home is just a phone call away.
Mum was unwell. Staff called for medical help timeously and kept me updated on her condition at all times. Advised us of her progress over the following days and kept a close eye on her to ensure she was recovering well.
Got no real issues with the care home. Staff are always professional, polite and respectful. My wife's needs are always met and I know she is in the best possible care. The staff are also very good at keeping me up to date on anything to do with my wife's care.
Such a welcoming place to come and visit. Feel Mum is safe and well looked after. Everyone is always so friendly, getting to know the other residents and visitors on my way through the home to visit Mum. Really appreciate everything you do for Mum and the other residents. Thank you.
My dad is a resident of Torry Care Home, and I couldn't wish for him to be in a better place. The staff are very friendly, caring and accommodating to my dad's needs, and always make us feel welcome when we visit by stopping by for a chat with us, offering us tea/coffee, etc. We were able to paint and decorate Dad's room to make it homely for him, which is a really nice thing to be able to do. There are always plenty of activities in the lounge to keep the residents entertained, and it's nice to see photos and videos of them enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend Torry to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one.
Nothing but high praise for all the staff in Torry Nursing Home - be they domestics, cooks, handymen or carers. They have gone above and beyond in this crisis. Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough. You are caring for my loved ones and I will always be eternally grateful.
