View Full Details of Wispington HouseMy mother has been a resident for three weeks. Her mixed dementia, recently diagnosed, deteriorated following illness and we collectively agreed that she now needed a much safer place to live, as my elderly father was increasingly frail and in poor health. We were no longer able to cope at home. From the outset, every single member of staff has been kind, gentle and so caring towards all of us. Mum is taking a while to settle, but the care staff with their unwavering support have made this difficult time much easier to bear. We feel genuinely blessed to have found such a wonderful group of staff, and I am thankful every day.
I cannot thank the management and staff of Wispington House enough for all the help and advice throughout the difficult period of getting Mum a permanent place there. Mum is treated with the utmost respect and is supported both physically and mentally by the excellent team. I never have to worry that she isn't eating as there are always hearty meals, and not forgetting the tea and biscuits on tap! We are all made to feel like one big family.
My mother was admitted to Wispington House in early November, as stated in previous reviews the fabric of the place is a little tired but kept nice and clean. The garden looks lovely and we look forward to the summer months when we can make use of the garden. The staff are very caring and attentive to the residents and visitors, the food appears to be very good and my mother is very happy with the quality of the meals, the accommodation and the staff at Wispington House. My sister and I were concerned about having to put our mother in a care home but we are both very happy with Wispington House and this has helped alleviate our concerns.
Kind and caring staff who have looked after my mum for the last 7 years. During covid, they went above and beyond to keep residents safe. Unfortunately, my mum is unable to join in activities now due to a decline in her condition. But they have a wide range of entertainment for residents to enjoy. The home is clean and tidy all mum's clothes are laundered on-site. The home has become tired in decor in places especially some of the bedrooms. But a warm welcome always awaits relatives and friends.
My elderly auntie was admitted to Wispington House just before the lockdown three years ago. The home is a little tired in places, but always kept extremely clean. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming when I visit. My aunt always speaks very highly about the food and seems content there. The family receive a monthly newsletter which keeps you updated with the activities planned. Very homely, home from home.
Wispington House has done a great job of looking after my mum who has been with them for 5 years now, under all the difficult covid times they did their best to keep all the residents and staff safe and happy. Mum is well looked after and I thank all the staff and managers and appreciate them greatly.
We are very grateful to the managers and staff at Wispington House for their care and consideration. Despite the restrictions and the stresses of recent months the Staff have always been welcoming and worked with good humour and empathy for residents and relatives. They have kept a careful watch over dad and anticipated his needs. It is a joy to see his face light up when he sees the carers. Dad has been given excellent care and we have been kept up to date with his progress. It was a difficult decision to move Dad into care but he has thrived at Wispington House because of the care and the commitment of the staff and we are certain he is in the best place possible.
Very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Room is very spacious and bright. Cleanliness is good.
My experience of the most recent time is that my Auntie has now got a little more poorly but the care is second to none. The management are so good and keep me informed at all times as to how my Auntie is. I think she is kept comfortable at all times and clean. I would highly recommend the home to anyone. It really is home from home and I enjoy the visit to the home.
My mother went here from hospital. She had no medical issues. Once here she was content but at 91 had decided to 'switch off'. She was bedridden. The staff were amazing, attending to my mother frequently. I visited daily, with my child, sister and dog. We were also cared for, during my mother's last days, with food and drinks. When mother did 'go to sleep', even the staff came to pay their respects. The rooms may need a lick of paint, but the staff make this care home excellent!
My wife has started to come on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the day. As a family, we have seen an improvement in my wifes' communication. She really enjoys going and is taking part in activities. I find she sleeps better as well after a day there.
After being ill in hospital, I spent one week in Wispington House for respite care. I was well looked after with the staff being attentive and caring.
My Mother was adamant that she would never go into a care home, but after a fall that hospitalised her for 10 weeks she was left unable to walk at all. She was eventually discharged to Wispington House where she has spent the last 6 months. The whole atmosphere in the home regarding care and friendship is amazing, The staff are always happy and friendly. There are various stimulating activities. The food is excellent. We cannot believe how quickly she has taken to residential care and she genuinely seems happy. We visit regularly and are very impressed with the friendliness of the staff towards ourselves, and do not believe we could have found a better place for my Mother than Wispington House.
My mother has been receiving day care and respite care since April 2016. She has commented that the staff are very caring and she greets them on each occasion with a with a smile and a cheery hello. I have observed that meals are made for the individual, seeing various residents each with a different meal at teatime. The activities vary but I have noticed that all the residents/service users are encouraged to join in. The home itself is very clean without a trace of the residential home smell.
My grandmother has been at Wispington House now for approximately a year, and the staff at Wispington were fantastic at settling her in, and she has been relaxed and at ease in her new home. I cannot praise the activity ladies enough, they work tirelessly with the residents offering a variety of activities every day. My Grandma loves the activities, and after a recent stay in hospital she said she looked forward to going home to be able to participate in them again. The team at Wispington are fantastic at the care at home they are providing and long may it continue.
I am very pleased with the level of care provided. The staff are kind, professional and understanding.
My mother is so well cared for in Wispington House. The staff are wonderful.
I visit my wife every day if possible and therefore see how the home is running. All I can say apart from the information below is that I am glad that my wife is in this first class home.
During the care of both my mother and father, I have been pleased at all times with the way that Wispington House's staff have shown compassion and care. At all times we have been made welcome by both the manager and care staff. I highly recommend this excellent care home.
Staff at Wispington House are always friendly and helpful. They treat all the residents, particularly those who are less mobile or more confused, with tender patience, warmth and genuine care. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed but that does not mean a lack of vigilance; nothing gets missed. There is lots of fun and really good, home cooked food. High professional standards are under constant review and development which includes resident's and family's feedback being listened to and acted on. I am delighted with the care my Mum is given.
