The handyman is quick to help if we have any problems! For example, today mended the window in Mum's room as it was sticking. A shame that the manager is leaving, he's been very supportive of the family throughout the five years Mum has been a resident. He will sadly missed when he leaves.
Stokeleigh is a homely and caring environment.
Putting family into care is a very hard decision which took me way too long to commit to but given the support from Hartford Care this helped my mum and me to make the right decision. Caring for my mum was taking its toll on both my mum and myself. Hartford Care couldn't have been more supportive allowing me to visit numerous times with and without my mum. The support I received in making this decision was second to none and I didn't feel like I was letting my mum down, more like getting her the support she needed to be as independent as possible. I can say that the experience has been hard but ultimately the right decision and that my mum is enjoying being part of the Stokeleigh community. Having early onset dementia she does complain about the activities however I do know that the activities are brilliant. The team at Hartford Care have been helping my mum to be more engaged and joining in with more activities.
My husband has been at Stokeleigh for approximately eighteen months. I am not only impressed with the constant/professional care provided to him but also the way they look after everyone. They have also been very kind and have supported me through a difficult time. Plenty of events to stimulate the residents including, weather permitting, garden parties and picnics. I often pop into the kitchen and see the food being prepared for lunches and suppers. It is always freshly made with fresh ingredients and looks very appetising. All staff work incrediby hard. The manager succeeds in providing high standards for Stokeleigh. Thank you.

It is so reassuring to be able to view the fun they are all having on daily online posts and know my father is happy and content due to the stimulating activities, as well as the very caring and friendly staff, who put all the residents' needs first.
Visited to see my brother and discuss ongoing care plan with the manager. All good and my brother's condition seems stable now. It is comforting to know that he is in safe hands, and making the most of his remaining years in comfort, with good companionship from fellow patients and staff. With so much bad press about some care homes in the news these days, our careful and considered choice of Stokeleigh is paying dividends now in peace of mind. Well done to all the staff.
Coming into Stokeleigh, I always feel an atmosphere of love and welcome from all the staff. I really value the open door policy and easy access to liaise with the manager and head of care or other staff. There is a real feeling of a team. Journeying with my mother in her dementia isn't always easy and it's so helpful to be able to share that journey with staff and co-create the best possible plan for her. Thank you to all of you in Stokeleigh. It would be nice if the home had its own minivan for trips rather than sharing it.

My brother-in-law has been in Stokeleigh for over six months now, and he is remarkably settled and at ease in his light, sunny room. He is young to have Alzheimer's at 64, but the home copes with his needs well. Always a friendly welcome when we visit, and it is clear how much the caring staff warm to their residents. Lovely, friendly atmosphere at lunchtime, well-prepared delicious hot meals and lots of encouragement to my brother-in-law. Thank you to the manager and staff.
Looked at four other care homes before selecting Stokeleigh for my wife. The manager and staff go out of their way to be friendly, helpful and cooperative. Visiting is anytime without the need for an appointment. On every visit, you are welcomed by a member of staff who will guide you to your loved one. Stokeleigh is very homely, bright and cheery. I find the care given to my mother excellent. The staff are always helpful and polite. I cannot mark value for money as I have nothing to compare this with.
I have been incredibly impressed with the level of care my mum receives at Stokeleigh. The staff in every area, including maintenance and catering, are compassionate and caring. They are cheerful and friendly and treat all the residents with dignity and respect. I trust the management and senior carers with my mother's care, and they are always on hand to answer my questions. On every visit, I get a friendly update on what my mum has been up to. It feels like we have found a home-from-home for my mum, and can't thank the carers enough for everything they do for her.
It is great to know that although I live over 100 miles away from the home, and am not able to visit as often as I would like, I know my aunt is in the most capable hands and looked after with care and dignity. I can't express how much I have appreciated their care over the last three years. Thank you one and all.
Staff are very polite and helpful. They have a very good bedside manner with the residents and visitors. Every member of staff makes you feel welcome. Rooms and facilities are clean and well-maintained.
Gran moved to the home earlier in the year from another home. Whilst, as a family, we were happy with the previous home, I think we all agree that Gran seems so much happier and engaged at Stokeleigh. The home itself is a lovely building, with lovely colours and lots of light. There are lots of activities and comings and goings. We love watching the Facebook page for updates on what everyone has been up to! The garden has been a lovely space to spend time in during the summer when we haven't had time to take Gran out. The staff are wonderful - we love how they are with Gran and the rest of the residents and how helpful they are when we are looking to take her out. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.
