View Full Details of The Old VicarageCannot thank The Old Vicarage team enough for the Care they give my Mother, she has gone from a lonely person in her own home, to joining in with many activities, knitting again, and singing with the residents. She is always saying she loves the food and all the staff are lovely. When we visit weekly we find everyone very friendly and caring.
I am so impressed with the care my mum received at The Old Vicarage. The staff were so lovely and supportive of my mum's needs, and she was treated with dignity, respect and as an individual, and this was reflected by how happy my mum was there. I cannot thank the staff enough, as it was such a relief to the family to know she was being so well looked after, safe and was comfortable. Thank you.
I cannot express how much the last two weeks spent in The Old Vicarage Care Home have helped me get over my recent hip replacement and several years of extremely stressful events. The wonderful staff at all times have been a joy to meet, chat to and experience their help in every way. The whole team has surrounded me with warmth, friendship and extreme care. The surroundings both inside and out are beautiful and so well cared for and maintained, therefore all in all I feel compelled to write this tribute.
Having visited a lot and directly experienced two care homes in Somerset I can say The Old Vicarage is a wonderful establishment with a truly amazing staff who looked after our father better than I could ever have hoped. They really went out of their way to make him comfortable and tried hard to involve him in the life of the home. I was really impressed with the range of activities on offer and the proactive way they were presented. The building and gardens are also beautiful and it is generally a very peaceful and pleasant environment. I can't recommend it highly enough!
The Old Vicarage team provided my father with excellent care through to the end of his life. They were kind and supportive to me and the family, making a difficult time more bearable, and always took time to talk and update us. The home has a happy, relaxed feel of a family home. It was always clean and fresh and tea was always available! The garden is a wonderful haven of peacefulness to wander around and sit in. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kind, caring approach and their good humour.
My respite stay at The Old Vicarage has been very enjoyable. The staff are first class, the facilities are second to none, the residents friendly, food good and so I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely place whether as a resident or respite care. Also, the house and grounds around are beautiful.
From the very start of Mum's stay we were impressed at how kind and caring everyone was. Every need was met and we felt that she was safe and very cared for so this gave us peace of mind. Mum was happy and said it was like being in a 5-star hotel! Overall we have been very pleased with the care received. Thank you Old Vicarage.
Since I arrived three months ago I have always felt safe and well cared for. I was welcomed with kindness and courtesy even when I had to call for help four or five times during the night. I am impressed with the atmosphere here amongst the staff themselves, there is much laughter and seem to work really well together and respect each other. I don't see this home as an institution but as a community of care. I'm grateful too for the way in which my family and friends are always made welcome. I am happy here.
I stayed at The Old Vicarage for one week of respite care. I had been in hospital with a broken ankle. I loved my stay there; the carers were consistently happy and loving, so that I felt very cared for. The management made sure that everything was in order and the food was beautifully prepared with plenty of variety - especially the fresh fruit. Each day there were interesting activities in the lounge with enthusiastic participation. The gardens are particularly beautiful, with places to sit and walk around. Visitors were made very welcome.
I can't speak highly enough about the excellent, caring treatment I received here during the four weeks I spent here after having three weeks in hospital with a nasty infection. I was nursed back to full health, put on weight, all thanks to the excellent, kind staff, always cheerful and willing to help, nothing was too much trouble, they were all marvellous.
The Old Vicarage is in a wonderful location, has well-maintained grounds, daily activities are organised for the residents, the home is spotlessly clean and the food is of an excellent standard. Dad has been a resident at The Old Vicarage for a year. He is very happy there and feels safe and well looked after, which is all down to the care, support and dedication of the lovely, friendly staff. Dad recently celebrated his 100th birthday and the staff could not have done more to help us make his day so very special. Our family take huge comfort from knowing Dad is so well looked after.
My mum lives at The Old Vicarage and surprised me when she commented that she did not miss her old home. Mum settled in much quicker than I anticipated and it is wonderful that she now has friends around her, as she lived alone before the move. Mum enjoys the food (which is amazing as she always loved her home cooking the best), the company, the garden, and the staff. I visited Mum daily at different times of the day and the high standard of care and respect never changed. I am so thankful that my sister-in-law stumbled upon this gem and cannot thank the staff enough for all they do for Mum and the other residents. This beautifully situated care home gives our family peace of mind that Mum is content, safe, and well looked after.
I would strongly recommend this accommodation (namely The Old Vicarage Care Home) for anyone to be cared for and also the cleanliness of the accommodation, long may it reign. I was most impressed and certainly would stay again, it would be my choice.
Had a wonderful convalescence here. My room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the garden. The food was great and I could eat in my room or go to the dining room. Various activities were offered in the afternoon. Some inside and some outdoor activities.
My father has been in The Old Vicarage for 18 months and I have nothing but praise and respect for all the staff. They take really good care of him and if you can't stay in your own home this is a very caring and safe place to be. I and the rest of the family were relieved that Dad soon settled in, and his ground floor room overlooks the beautiful garden which is accessible by wheelchair. This summer he has loved seeing the lavender blooming in the beds near the patio. We are always warmly welcomed and kept informed and up to date with any health issues. In my opinion The Old Vicarage is the very best residential option for Dad and we were lucky to find it.
At the age of 96 years it became clear that we could no longer care for Mum in her own home. After an initial visit to The Old Vicarage it was arranged that Mum would initially stay for two weeks respite care and our family were delighted to see just how well Mum settled and all agreed that she should then become a permanent resident. All the staff I came into contact with were so very kind, patient and understanding and in no time at all I realised that I could trust them fully to meet all Mums care needs. Mum has settled better than we could possibly have hoped. She enjoys her food, is able to join in some of the activities but most of all loves the garden and watching the birds. The staff are respectful, kind and very patient when dealing with her needs. We are confident that we have chosen the very best home for Mum and owe a debt of gratitude to all the staff who are caring for her. We would highly recommend The Old Vicarage.
When we first visited this highly recommended care home we met the director who came across as a very approachable, genuine, caring person which, after five months of Mum living at the home, our thoughts have not changed. The director has an excellent team of carers who are always pleased to help and we can see why The Old Vicarage has received such high commendations and awards. Mum is always well-presented, enjoys the meals provided and often reflects on how nice the cooking is from the pasta she has for lunch to the wonderful cakes which are even better than the high-end supermarkets. Mum spends much of her time enjoying the company of fellow residents and especially enjoys the music afternoons. The carers are all very friendly and we are very confident that Mum is well cared for and should she have any medical requirements, these are always dealt with very quickly. Our first impression of the home was how happy all the residents were and after five months it is lovely to see that Mum is one of those residents.
My mum has been at The Old Vicarage since the beginning of November and I think we struck gold finding it, at 98 years old it must be a daunting experience to go into a care home but she was very well looked after from day one. The staff are very friendly and have been very helpful in sorting out any problems that occurred, the food is excellent and Mum is looking forward to the warm weather when she can spend some time in the lovely gardens. She is encouraged to get up and about to help her mobility and we have seen the improvement. Many thanks.
My father has been a resident at The Old Vicarage for the last three years. He settled in straight away and is very happy there. The staff are incredibly kind and caring and he couldn't be getting better care. His surroundings are lovely and spotlessly clean with views out over the beautiful gardens. There are plenty of activities for the residents to enjoy and individual sessions for those not wanting to join in the group sessions. There is also the opportunity for residents to express their individual talents. It is lovely to see Dad so happy and settled and we can't thank the staff enough for the wonderful care he is receiving. I would recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone looking for care.
We are very pleased with how Dad is cared for at the home. He is comfortable and contented. He has been through huge changes in his life and has settled into the home very well. The staff are marvellous and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It is such a comfort to me, as his daughter, to know that he is in great hands and looked after so well. We couldn't have found a more suitable place for Dad. Thank you to all.
