View Full Details of The Lawn Residential Care HomeAfter Christmas, my father stayed at The Lawn for respite care, and we were recently offered a full-time place for him. We are absolutely delighted with this outcome and couldn't be more grateful to the wonderful team here. The care and attention he receives are exceptional-it's incredibly reassuring to know that, at 94, he is in a place where he is safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. Every visit is met with warm smiles, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure that both my father and our family feel welcome and supported. Their kindness, professionalism, and dedication make all the difference. We cannot praise the Home Manager highly enough. From the moment our father arrived at The Lawn, she has been an incredible source of support, guidance, and reassurance. Her dedication, kindness, and professionalism shine through in everything she does, making a profound difference not only to the residents but also to their families.
My husband has had a very comfortable stay at The Lawn. Enjoying a delicious and varied menu and great care from all the staff. Cleanliness was excellent and attention from the staff and manager was second to none. We will recommend The Lawn to friends and definitely use it again. The only slight down was not having an ensuite shower so had to book a slot. Thank you all so much.
The care staff all appear to be very kind, professional and caring people who do their very best. The Lawn is a most beautiful home with fabulous gardens and a broad range of activities. However, my mother has often waited quite long for assistance and sometimes finds attention to detail a little lacking e.g her clock or glasses or TV remote may not have been left within her reach, or even once or twice her buzzer was out of reach. I'm sure this is due to pressure on staff and is not a criticism of anyone. On the whole staff do a great job, we also love the relaxed atmosphere e.g the addition of Platon the dog!
My father came to reside at the lawns from 2021 to 2024. He settled in quickly mostly due to the staff looking after him. There are always activities for the residents to do, which relatives are encouraged to get involved with. The management team ensure everything runs smoothly and safely. The food is great, a good variety. My father sadly passed away however we are still made welcome when we pop in.
My husband has Alzheimers and has been very happy in The Lawn Residential Care Home while I have been away. He said he would go back in any time. They were all very kind and caring and he enjoyed walking around the garden. The food was very good. Thank you everyone.
It's been a difficult time for my Auntie as she adjusts to leaving her beloved home at nearly 50 years and giving up her independence. She has been shown such love and kindness, as have we. Now there are lots of things going on in her day (she spent 4 years isolated at home since her first stroke in 2020) and she enjoyed the company. I can't thank everyone enough.
My mother-in-law was a resident of The Lawn for two years. She had excellent care and attention. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. The manager was caring and attentive and would not hesitate to recommend 'The Lawn', beautiful gardens, lots of activities and wonderful food. Thank you to all for the care.
The staff are friendly and approachable. They treat residents with care and respect. The setting is beautiful with well-kept gardens. Residents' rooms are clean and spacious. The food is very good and families are encouraged to attend activities at The Lawn when they are on. All staff work very hard and are always polite to residents' families. My Mum is happy here and feels safe and secure.
I am very happy with the care my mother receives. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The facilities are good and residents are treated with a personal touch. There are a variety of regular and special activities. The accommodation is good and the building is well maintained. Apart from the lift which is often out of order. I am very satisfied with how The Lawn has provided for mum.
My mother has been well treated during her stay at The Lawn. The staff are polite and caring.
Friendly approachable staff who listen and who help to create a homely environment for residents. There are many activities on offer from exercise to arts and crafts as well as events where relatives are invited to join in. The Lawn's link with the local pre-school is beneficial to both sides. The Lawn is a bright, spacious home with beautifully kept grounds for residents and their visitors enjoyment.
Having visited a few care homes I knew that The Lawn would be the best place for my mum’s long-term care as she had become unable to live independently. She was assessed by the manager whilst in hospital and we were able to make her room homely with items of her own furniture before she arrived. The staff have been wonderful in caring for her and helping her come to terms with not only living in a care home but also the change in her physical abilities. There is a good range of activities, accessible to everyone (even visitors!) and the grounds are just beautiful, whether for a stroll or just viewing from the window. The food is good and freshly cooked, served in an airy dining room, where families can also be included. The Lawn has a warm and homely feel, all staff are friendly and helpful and are a great support, not just to my mum, but also in reassuring me of the difficult decisions that had to be made on her behalf.
My father has only been at The Lawn for a short time but I am very impressed by the dedication of the staff and management. Not only making sure that my father is comfortable and feels safe but also giving the time to family members' worries and concerns. My father has always had set daily routines and knows exactly what he likes and doesn't like. The Lawn is very good at adapting to an individual's every need and wants, meal choices, time they get up etc.
In all aspects good, most excellent.
The Lawn management and staff, not only go the extra mile for special occasions such as birthdays, they endeavour to make all family meals celebratory. Craftily -folded napkins and small gifts are much appreciated and contribute to happy times. Thank you all.
From our initial contact with The Lawn Residential Care Home, when we were seeking care accommodation with some urgency, through the assessment process to our arrival and the installation of my mother, the staff and manager were all very welcoming, positive and flexible. My mother seems settled in a comfortable room which she likes and is developing a rapport with the carers assigned to her. We are relieved she is being cared for in a place of safety where she is becoming more content. Thank you!
I attended a Mother's Day lunch. The food was excellent, and the staff were so helpful to the residents without being patronising.
Our mother has been cared for at The Lawn Residential Care for ten years. She has enjoyed the programme of activities arranged for the residents and the gardens where the lawn is situated. In the early days, we could take her around the village and occasionally out for lunch. The care and respect she has received from all the staff are admirable. She had many happy years there and we were always made welcome when we visited.
Our mum has been a resident for ten years - she has been very happy and we have always been impressed with the caring way she has been looked after. The home is secure but I was given a door pass to enter the home, which works very well. The staff are lovely and really care.
My Mother-in-law moved in recently to The Lawn. From our first visit, we were very impressed. She has Alzheimer's and was very anxious about leaving her home. But apart from a couple of little wobbles which is obviously to be expected with her illness, she has settled in very well due to a number of things. Every member of staff we have met has been very welcoming and caring. My Mother-in-law's words were, nothing seems too much trouble for them. From the maintenance man to the chef, from admin to management and of course all the wonderful carers, (the team leader is amazing), cleaners and activity lady, it has all gone very smoothly. I can rest easy now, knowing she is safe, well fed and looked after. Thank you all at The Lawn.
