View Full Details of Kingswood Manor Care HomeMy dad arrived at Kingswood Manor 2 days ago and what an incredible nursing home this is. The manager has been wonderful from the first time I spoke to her. Everyone who works there is exceptional. They really do care for their residents. They are happy, caring, helpful, and very good at their job. They have made my dad and my family feel very welcome I would recommend this nursing home 100% because they really are fantastic. It feels like a big happy family. The day my dad arrived we had a live singer on all the staff had the residents dancing and singing it was just wonderful the atmosphere was electric we loved it. Even the manager gets up and sings, with a great voice. The bedrooms are a great size and have everything you need in it. You can add all your own furniture and photos to make it feel like home. I really didn't know what to expect from a nursing home but it has blown me away. Thank you to everyone who works there for being so kind to my dad and my family.
The staff have decorated the place magnificently for Halloween. They try to cater activities for a wide range of residents with a spectrum of capabilities. They really care about the residents and try to make it a real home for home.
My mum has dementia and has been resident at Kingswood Manor for almost two years now. She had to move here very suddenly when her previous care home closed with very little notice. It was the best thing that could have happened. She responded immediately to the gentle and engaging care surrounding her, all signs of agitation disappeared and she has remained settled and happy ever since. The staff are simply wonderful. I have complete confidence that she is cared for with dignity, kindness, compassion and professionalism. I am always kept informed of any changes and everyone is so responsive and helpful. Nothing is ever too much to ask. Not only do I know that my mum is truly loved and cared for, but I always feel welcome when I visit, like part of an extended family. I cannot thank everyone enough.
My sister-in-law resides here. Any issues regarding the room are dealt with immediately. Her room has been decorated/painted and well-maintained. Staff are fantastic with her care and needs and anytime I call in they are all caring and update me on her wellbeing. She is happy here knowing as her Parkinson's and health deteriorate she is in a very safe and secure environment. From management down a truly exceptional home.
My friend was sitting happily in a wheelchair. She chats to staff who speak slowly to her and make her smile. Staff are conscientious about passing on any concerns.
I feel secure in the knowledge that my dad is being cared for with compassion, dignity and professionalism. The staff are an asset to the organisation and I thank them for the amazing job they do.
The staff here are kind and very helpful. I feel very comfortable and any help I need they are always there, they say there is no place like home but this place is a close second. Thank you
My mother has been at Kingswood Manor for almost 4 years. She has dementia and can be very awkward and tricky to deal with. The staff have been constantly good at caring for her, even having to sing to her to divert her physical behaviour quite often, She is always dressed in the lounge and eats well. The nursing staff always tell me if there is an issue. She enjoys the weekly entertainment and I believe they manage her very well.
My relative is settled and happy living here. If any problems arise they are always dealt with in a satisfactory manner. She enjoys the food and always has a choice. Laundry and bedding always lovely and clean. Her bedroom is always clean.
My husband who has Alzheimer's has been in Kingswood Manor for a year. He has been extremely well cared for and is very content. The staff are friendly and I am kept informed about his daily care. I visit him 4-5 days a week and am very happy with the home, the food, staff, cleanliness and activities. All of my family and friends who have visited my husband have all said how lovely the home is, especially compared to other homes they have visited. I would recommend it to other potential service users.
My mum has been a resident here for a little over a year. She is consistently treated with care, consideration and affection. She enjoys the lovely garden, both to sit in the day. She appreciates having her hair and nails done. She is always offered a choice of meals and if neither appeals or she declines to eat it once it is in front of her, a snack is offered - sandwich, toast etc. She enjoys the activities, in particular, painting and life story/family history. The staff build up a really lovely, caring and friendly relationship with her.
I can only give a great review as all the staff work to a high standard with care and compassion towards my mum and us as a family. The nursing staff are excellent and professional. Also the management team are so helpful and any issues raised are dealt with immediately, always keep you informed of any changes. I would highly recommend Kingswood Manor to anyone.
I find the home welcoming, the staff are very approachable, help you in anyway. I find the activities not very good. The home is right for my brother, he has settled in very well.
We are extremely grateful and impressed by the friendly, caring, professional care at Kingswood Manor. Over four years, we have seen my father-in-law thrive and be happy. This is because all the staff take extra care of him. Thank you.
Fantastic care home, providing for every need of my relative. Looked after them like a family member of their own. The caring and considerate staff and manager could not have been any more supportive. Great work, everyone, and thank you for everything you do.
Dad was well looked after by all staff, can't thank you all enough.
My husband is very happy in Kingswood Manor. He is well cared for, staff are always helpful and kind. Although sometimes there are problems with his catheter. Meals lovely washing always clean and ironed - all clothes.
A massive thank you to the wonderful team at Kingswood. Everyone who was on hand with constant coffee and biscuits, your help and support was very much appreciated. One member of staff, in particular, you were amazing, I've never met a more caring person or someone so good at their work. You all gave Mum so much care and attention, nothing was too much trouble. You made a difficult time bearable and did so whilst delivering complete care and dignity for Mum. Thank you so much, a wonderful care home run by incredible people.
Excellent management rating relates solely to the current manager. Previous management and deputy delivered poor service. Activities are managed by the activities coordinator, and I would have rated them excellent however she is only at work four days out of the seven and very little takes place on the days she is not in. At the last relatives meeting the manager mentioned that if anyone wanted their relative's rooms refreshed then we just needed to let her know. I emailed her a week ago and work has begun today in Mum's room. Excellent!
We appreciate that care homes generally have gone through difficult times in the last couple of years, Kingswood Manor being no exception. This is a very old building and difficult to maintain and probably in need of some modernisation. Notwithstanding that, on our visits, the home is always clean, warm and welcoming. My mother's room is always spotlessly clean, as she is notwithstanding the odd spillage of food or drink. My mother can be very difficult to deal with, but we have found that the staff generally from the management down deal with her in a very caring and sympathetic manner, even though they sometimes have to deal with verbal abuse. The staff are all approachable and available for advice, guidance and sometimes counselling.
