View Full Details of Oaktree Hall & LodgeMy mother was very reluctant to go into residential care, although it was evident she needed to for quite a while. On the day my mother was admitted to Oaktree, she was treated exceptionally well from the minute we arrived. Within 15 minutes, she was smiling and told me to leave as she was happy. She has partaken in the activities and spoke about them when I visited. Since moving in permanently, she is happy, looks better than she has for a long time, her general health has improved and she is well nourished. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and finally, I can sleep knowing she is safe and looked after.
My mother arrived in Oat Tree for respite in September 2024 after breaking her ankle in a fall and spending a number of weeks in hospital. We had heard some poor reviews about the standard of care, the food and the general wellbeing experienced by previous residents, however, if I was to be totally honest, the majority of these were, here say so we remained open minded. Whilst initially, my mother did experience some issues, in the first few days, with the food not being warm enough, this was always immediately addressed to her satisfaction. This was the only minor issue my mother experienced. Every single other aspect of the care home was exemplary, all of the staff, without exception, are superb and epitomise the meaning of the word 'CARE'. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, they treated mum with respect, with compassion when needed, they listened and they enabled mum to keep her dignity right up to the moment she passed away. I cannot recommend Oak Tree enough. Thank you
My husband was in Oaktree Lodge for 3 years up to passing away. I cannot praise it enough, the care he was given, it was excellent and he was so happy there. Food was good and the staff tried so hard with entertainment and raffles and relatives were made so welcome. So thank you once again, all the caring staff.
My mother has been a resident at Oaktree Hall for many years. The manager has been very understanding of my mother's needs and the staff are attentive and caring, particularly recently. The manager has listened to my concerns and proactively supports me. I am very grateful for this support and understanding.
This has been the worst decision of my life to put my dad in their care. It has been an ongoing issue with this care home of inadequate care for residents. I just hope the social services intervene and get him moved to a more caring environment.
This is the second time my Husband has had respite care in this home. It is very clean and the staff are welcoming and informative. Again he has put weight on so the food must have been good. He was happy and joking with the staff when I collected him after his stay but within six days he is back to this miserable man who only wants to sit in a chair, not speaking, and says he is waiting for God. What more can I say?
My aunt came here for end-of-life care, she was treated with compassion and dignity by everyone, they treated me the same way when she passed. The staff are so friendly and kind, nothing is too much for them, and they made my aunt's last weeks very comfortable.
First visit to Oaktree to see Step Mum, who moved in recently. A nice and warm place, cosy and homely. Care workers are very friendly, helpful, and informative. Step Mum is more alert and able to communicate, since the move. Good to know that there is a new care plan in place and proper record-keeping.
First visit to my Nan at Oaktree. The staff are very friendly and thorough. Lovely home and décor, very warm and cosy. My Nan seems very happy here so far.
Friendly, open, welcoming, helpful, and communicative staff who care about all of the residents. The home is clean, well decorated, and feels very homely. Comfortable rooms, nice and clean.
I have been on respite care for a week. The staff are very tentative, nothing is too much trouble day or night. It is very clean, domestics do a good job. Washing is taken most nights and bought back the next day. Overall it has been an enjoyable stay. I would recommend it.
It is very early days for me and the first time I have visited for any length of time, but Mum seems in good hands here. The grounds are beautiful and the staff I have met are friendly and treat her well.
Lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful. Place very clean and friendly atmosphere.
Lovely place with very helpful caring people/staff. Uncle is very happy here and it's made such a difference in his whole demeanour. It's so nice to see the difference it's making to him.
Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, food lovely and good care staff.
I visit my dad and grandma and it's always lovely to come and see them so happy and all the pictures are great.
Lovely staff, very compassionate and looked after my mother-in-law during her passed day. Dealt with difficult family members in a kind and patient way. Sadly Mum in law passed in hospital but the care she received was exceptional. Every decision made was in Mum in laws best interests.
Our daughter is currently in Bessingby Hall for respite care after having a large stroke. We were slightly apprehensive of her being placed in a home, but our worries have been short lived as the care and the staff have been excellent, very compassionate and caring. We would have no problem in recommending Bessingby to anyone! We cannot thank all the staff enough for their fantastic care!
I find Bessingby Hall very accommodating, the staff is pleasant and efficient, always on hand to assist with questions and assistance.
I came to see my grandad today, I can see he is very happy, singing and dancing, a lot more peaceful. Very helpful staff and very friendly.
