View Full Details of Fletcher HouseWell done to all the staff, and especially the activities staff for making Christmas enjoyable. However many difficulties they are facing, they are always cheerful and warm to the residents.
My daughters and I are very pleased with care and attention given not only to my husband but to us as a family when we visit or call. One example is how thoughtful the staff were on his birthday as the home was in lockdown. The staff still involved us on the phone which meant the world to us.
I fully appreciate the challenges involved in delivering the services and highly esteem the care/resident support staff. Unfortunately, some improvement is needed regarding administration and communication to reflect the standards displayed elsewhere. Despite 2 changes in managers since 2023 I have not been notified in either case directly, and the website is still not currently updated. All of my details as my father's property, for example, financials. Lasting Power of Attorney are held on record, but communication on these issues is passed to my brother to notify me. This is unsatisfactory to both of us. For all of January so far this year I have been unable to get through by phone, but told to call later by answerphone. Something clearly isn't working, but a management review, and resulting action, could easily introduce improvements required.
My partner was escorted to Fletcher House in March 2024. Her birthday soon came along and the staff helped her celebrate it. They managed to play some tracks sung by a famous singer who was her favourite singer. Our son has visited her and noticed how well the chef cooks. I am guessing she is enjoying a better diet than the one I provided when I was caring for her. I am sure Wells City is pleased to welcome Fletcher House a care home with impressive credentials.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Dad is receiving excellent care and is very happy where he is. He enjoys the food and loves his room. Communication is a bit lacking sometimes regarding appointments etc but it is realised that the staff are very busy and care comes first. The home is always clean and well-maintained. Definitely worth recommending to others.
Friendly, calm and welcoming environment. Housekeeping are excellent and all the team are caring and efficient. Respect and support are delivered by the whole team and in particular the activities co-coordinator plays a vital part in stimulating and ensuring residents have a continued enjoyable environment.
Brilliant staff, communication and understanding, if ever you want to know anything, they are on the case.
Generally very pleased with the standard of care and cleanliness of Fletcher House. I don't visit as it upsets my mum, but I am kept fully informed. I am confident mum is warm, safe, well-fed, and cared for.
I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and the community at Fletcher House in Somerset. I have a relative who lives there and they have always been treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Their wishes are listened to and where possible followed and this has led to thriving and getting their life back following a period of difficulties prior to moving to Fletcher. It is a home, made by the amazing staff, who are so kind and caring and thoughtful about my relative. They go the extra mile and we work together. My relative is an avid reader and was facilitated to start and create a book group for anyone to join. When I review something, I always look at the important things and Fletcher gets the important things right. We all know that nothing can be perfect, but whatever years my relative has left, I know that they will be happiest because of the treatment care support dignity and respect shown to them and their family who visit on a day-to-day basis.
Fletcher House has been truly brilliant in looking after my dad, he is well cared for and the Activities Coordinator deserves to be recognised for his care, and love, towards the residents and always acknowledges visitors and gives us positive updated (dad loves him)! All the staff have made the transition comfortable for dad, and always reassure him on not-so-good days. Dad has settled beautifully thanks to the hard-working staff.
My aunt was not well when she entered Fletcher House but the staff there did everything they could to care for her and make the time she had left as comfortable as it could be. They showed her the utmost respect and I cannot understate my gratitude for all their work. It was clear during my visits that the other residents were also well looked after, and those who were able to enjoy a high standard of food and a busy programme of events and social activities. I would not hesitate to recommend Fletcher House.
My Mother came to Fletcher House on the understanding it was purely for a brief period of respite. After 5 days, however, she told me to sell her home and that she was staying at Fletcher House. In the early days, she was sociable and chatty with other residents, but as the frailties of old age advanced, she became more dependent on the carers for social interaction. She received much kindness from them and I know she was genuinely liked by them, and I believe she knew this. They went out of their way to ensure she was happy, comfortable and supported.
My father has been at Fletcher House Care Home since May 2022. The staff are lovely, friendly, caring and respectful. The home has a nice atmosphere and the residents are cheerful. There is a programme of activities and regular residents meetings. I'm very happy with my father's care.
Excellent care provided by the incredible staff. Mum was a resident for over two years before her death a couple of days ago, and our family have nothing but praise for the home. Even when Mum passed away, we were treated with excellent care, which made our loss easier to accept.
We were very lucky indeed that just as my dad was being discharged from hospital care, Fletcher House were able to arrange an assessment and welcome him as a resident at very short notice. Although dad was only there less than a month (before he, unfortunately, passed away), he had been made to feel very much at home in this short time, with staff who were genuinely caring and who made great efforts to get to know him on a personal level. Sharing his musical interests with one particular staff member made all the difference to his settling in well during his first few days there. He was very happy to be back in his home town and we were made welcome in visiting him at any time by the lovely staff at Fletcher. Dad had a lovely garden room and I know he would have been very happy to stay on at Fletcher if he had not been able to return home. Thanks to all at Fletcher House!
Our father needed emergency respite, all taken care of very easily and professionally by the home manager, who came to our home to assess dad. We were able to take him in straight away, and the home and staff have been great in settling Dad in. It is a big change for all of us, Fletcher House has made it easier for us all.
I have found Fletcher House to be most welcoming and friendly. I was amazed when after a fortnight's trial with Fletcher House, Mum was so happy and had made many new friends. She was happy to return on a permanent basis. The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble.
We, as a family, have been very impressed with the staff at Flecther House. The transition into the home was very smooth. The room and facilities for my mother are very comfortable and well-maintained, and in most cases, rooms have been refurbished. Although a residential home setting, it has a very "home" like atmosphere. The staff are friendly and always pleased to see you. It's a very safe and pleasant place, with good all-round care.
Mum had a fall, couldn't weight bear and needed some immediate care. I contacted Fletcher House and they came out to see me the next day (as I'd called on a Sunday). A very professional, warm and inclusive assessment was carried out by the manager with both me and my mother, and she was admitted the same afternoon. Fletcher House was friendly, caring and accommodating. My mother only needed a brief stay, found the call bells distracting upstairs, but said that the room was spotlessly clean, the staff were excellent and the food was amazing! We've both agreed that we'll be using Fletcher House again for respite care as needed. Many thanks!
I have visited Fletcher House now on several occasions and I am always greeted by welcoming staff. The home is very clean and feels very homely, and comfortable. I can not speak highly enough about this care home. It truly is a fabulous place.
