My mum has been put on end of life and the love and support from all the staff, all departments has been so comforting. Don't feel alone. To know mum is loved is helping us get through it. We are being unindated with tea/coffee and everytime someone comes into the room. Thank you for help us through.
It was my first stay here whilst my family went on holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was very well looked after and would be happy to return again when my family go on holiday. All the staff were lovely to me and very friendly.
My mum moved into a care home in April 2023. She passed away in October 2024. After a few weeks of getting used to it, she settled in and loved all the activities they offered. She even went to the theatre and sang in the lounge, which she especially enjoyed. The care she received from the friendly staff was top-notch. She even made a few friends. The food was delicious but she might have eaten a little too much. I highly recommend this care home.
My sister was a resident at Barchester North Park Care Home for over three years. I am pleased to say she was very happy there. She loved the carers and had lots of time chatting to them. She was proud to call the place home and it pleased me how happy she was there.
Very happy being here, well looked after, everyone is very pleasant and helpful.
The home is comfortable. The staff are helpful.
This care home may be adequate if your needs are minimal and you are relatively independent. In the event you require extra care such as being bed bound, need bed rails, pressure area care, regular comfort checks, appropriate analgesia and a working television, then please choose elsewhere. Staff are friendly but the care was inadequate and unsafe at times. Food was probably the best aspect of the stay, well done to the cooks.
A massive thank you to the manager for her support, and to the staff for looking after my dad over the last three years. In particular for the care and kindness shown to us as a family in his final days.
My mum has been a resident since April 2022 until her death recently; prior to that she had had several periods of respite care at the home. I always felt that she was safe and well looked after. All the staff were very kind to her, in particular the OT/activities staff who made every effort to encourage her to join group activities when she was well enough. The home is maintained well, always tidy and never has any odours. The staff are extremely welcoming to visitors and they organise regular fundraising events that involve friends and family. In short - I am very happy and grateful that my mum was able to stay at North Park Care Home.
Mum spent the last few weeks of her life being looked after and cared for at Barchester North Park Care Home. She went in initially for two weeks respite but after the first week, she decided to stay permanently. She was well looked after by all the staff and especially enjoyed the food, gaining 10lbs in the short time she was a resident.
The first time we looked around the home, we knew straight away that it was the place where we wanted Dad to be cared for. The home always has a happy, welcoming feel and the staff are super friendly and caring. I have been to many of the social get-togethers and the way that the staff look after their residents gives me comfort to know that Dad is cared for by these special people. Would not want him anywhere else!
Everything is very good/excellent. I am impressed.
Lovely place to stay and staff do their best to keep us entertained and clean and tidy.
North Park just gets better and better. My mother celebrated her 90th birthday this week at North Park. The effort made by the staff was fantastic. A band played in the afternoon, and banners and balloons were provided, followed by a delicious birthday cake. Our family was made very welcome, and the kind, thoughtful and selfless efforts of the event manager were unmatchable. Thank you. Overall, in the last few months, I have witnessed a great improvement in the general atmosphere, cleanliness, management and happiness of the residents and families. Well done, North Park.
I spent at least 6 hours a day with my husband, I was always made to feel welcome, offered food and drinks and asked to join in with any activities. The staff always made me feel at home.
Barchester North Park went above and beyond today so that I was able to celebrate my graduation with my grandad. They put on a little surprise tea party for us to enjoy while we chatted and got family photos. They even bought a cake for us to celebrate with! They are all so friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating not just today but on previous occasions as well. I’m so happy my grandad is in such a lovely setting with smiley staff that are always willing to help when needed not just with the residents but their families too.
My dad first arrived at North Park Care Home at very short notice, under very stressful circumstances, having just been evicted from respite care at another care home. We hadn't visited the home before his arrival due to the urgent situation. We were immediately put at ease on our first visit - speaking to staff at all levels we heard how well he settled (surprising us all). The staff took great interest from the start to understand the rare type of dementia my dad has, and how his complex needs may differ from other residents on Memory Lane. We continue to be impressed with the daily enrichment for the residents. For a long time while still at home, my dad had no interest in doing anything, but since moving to North Park he has made smoothies, cards, arranged flowers and had a visit from a petting zoo (greatly enjoyed by many residents!). The place is spotless, housekeeping staff work continuously. We really value the work of all the care staff in providing truly person-centred care.
Staff have no time. Staff look after you but have no time to care or talk.
My mum was originally placed in North Park Care Home for respite care but became a full-time resident shortly after. The staff are wonderful and truly care for residents and families. My mum was very happy there and encouraged to join in the many activities, she loved the therapy dog too. She made friends with other residents and when she took ill, appropriate action was taken. In the end, the staff went the extra mile to make sure she and I were comfortable and could not have done more.
