View Full Details of Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care HomeMy wife and I do not have enough words in our vocabulary to express how wonderful Queen Elizabeth Care Home have been looking after the resident in all of her many needs throughout the last two years. Even her last few days before her death were beautiful and managed with much attention. Well done to all staff at Queen Elizabeth care home!
My Mum is having some respite care after falling and breaking her hip in January. She is being well cared for and the staff are all very kind and friendly. She has enjoyed joining in some of the activities when she has felt well enough to do so. She has found some days that the food choices are not to her taste and the nights are quite noisy with buzzers waiting to be answered. But overall she is happy and would choose Queen Elizabeth Park again if needed.
My father has been at QEP for a couple of months. He is wheelchair bound, catheterised and has very limited sight. For the first few weeks he was quite agitated in his new surroundings and it took him a while to get used to new staff helping him. But now he does seem more settled and in fact has gained some weight which is encouraging. The staff caring for him seem really friendly and kind and they really try and get him involved in the activities - most of which he does seem to enjoy even though he sometimes falls asleep in them. At weekends there seem to be less activities and maybe this is something that could be improved on? When I run out of conversation during visits, we love doing crosswords together. Could the ones available in the bistro area be "updated" more frequently please? I try and remember to bring one or two with me but I often forget so having more of a choice available would be helpful. Overall I am very pleased with the care my father is receiving.
Very friendly, caring staff Excellent quality nursing and care Mum seems to be very happy here. I looked after. Plenty of activities and things going on which they involve her with which is great Nursing care is very on point, we was getting good feedback
My mother has been at Queen Elizabeth Park for nearly two and a half years and l am still very happy with the very high standard of care she receives. I know when l leave her she is happy, cared for and well supported and l am so relieved it is here she will be spending her final years . I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. Thank you everyone for everything you do.
The staff are always welcoming and responsive to any requests I make on behalf of my husband . They take time to understand the needs of their residents. There are times when the kitchen facilities on the upper floor could do with a spring clean
Staff are always so welcoming to me as a visitor and keep me updated on my mum's wellbeing. The accommodation is always looking clean and comfortable. The range of activities and outings are excellent and my mum is encouraged to join in. Mum seems very content and l know she is being looked after well. The staff really do care and it is much appreciated.
My mother had to move to Queen Elizabeth last August as a matter of emergency because her house became unsafe. The staff were very accommodating and helpful in finding a room for her and in settling her in. Since then she has been cared for very well , both physically and psychologically. I know this has challenges because of her dementia. She enjoys the meals, and everyone is very kind to her. The home always looks nice and is kept spotlessly clean. There are plenty of activities, even though she doesn't always join in.
My mother moved to QEP in February 2025 and she has lived there for the past six weeks or so. The manager was so kind and attentive during the settling in period , it made the process much easier . She was transferred directly from hospital and at first she found the transition quite difficult. The warm and friendly atmosphere supported her so well. The staff team work together with such kindness . Nothing is too much trouble. The life at QEP provides a whole array of interesting activities to choose from . The care home is spotless , homely and safe. Although my mother is still in the settling in period, I am confident that, with the support of the staff she will come to love it . From living independently , into hospital and then into a care home is a big step for anyone but I am so glad we chose QEP . It gives the family such a sense of relief that mum is having the best care .
My mother seems very happy and settled at the Queen Elizabeth Park. She has dementia and is very forgetful. The staff seem kind and thoughtful and the entertainment staff are brilliant. Mum can be found in someone else's bedroom by mistake but the staff always know where she is! At weekends it seems that fewer staff are available. Mum always loved music, dancing, creative arts, children, garden centres, trips and animals. The QEP offers all of those things which is wonderful. Recently, however, Mum rarely appears in any of those activities, which is a shame as she is happy to join in if my sister and I suggest it. So maybe they could be a little more persuasive with Mum to get her to join in with the fun. That would be great.
I am confident that the care Mum receives is of a high quality, caring and professional, she always seems content when I visit. Mum loves her word games and her crosswords and the activity team and the staff do their best to encourage Mum to join in. Mum has dementia but she can still make her own choices and I feel that this is fully respected. Both me and my sister are very grateful to all the staff for their hard work and dedication and feel happy taking time away in the knowledge that Mum is safe and cared for.
The staff at Queen Elizabeth Park Home have been so supportive of my mum who went there from hospital. They have made her welcome and are supportive of her needs encouraging her to be more mobile. My mum is now able to enjoy activities at the home.
My mother's body is gradually failing her; she can no longer walk or even stand unaided and her sight is almost gone, so her care needs are many. I am completely confident that her care at Queen Elizabeth Park is professional, caring, dignified, and thoughtful. She still has full mental capacity and reinforces this view. She appreciates the opportunities to socialise over meals and through the activities on offer which give some quality of life back to her. I visit almost daily, and really appreciate that the staff are always one step ahead of me in identifying the need for, and then arranging a doctors visit or hearing aid repair. When I do go away, I am able to relax in the knowledge that my mother is in safe and caring hands.
My Mother seems content although gets confused and has no short-term memory. Occasionally the staff seem rather stretched, especially at a weekend. Staff are on the whole very helpful and friendly and if I have a medical issue respond quickly.
From the moment I contacted the manager I felt Daddy would be in safe hands. She was kind, caring and considerate. So too her teams. The activities were plentiful and the services were great. I have worked at all levels in the health service all my life so I know what I am looking for. For my dad, he soon settled in the 3/52 he was there. However, at 95 and still very active he just wanted to be home. His only criticism was the team came into his room when he was in the bathroom! Many thanks.
My mother required emergency respite care, the manager was able to assess her needs on the same day of admission that was required. The unit manager and staff on the ground floor have shown compassion to my mother ensuring her dignity and involvement of my mother completing a care plan addressing all her physical and emotional needs.
The home is wonderful. Very professionally run. The staff are very attentive and professional. The home has really good entertainment coming to the home, which I think is wonderful. Activities are varied and well organised. I appreciate everything that management and staff are doing for my mum.
Always said I would not put my parents in a home, however, after my father suffered a bleed to the brain his needs were too great to stay home. Queen Elizabeth Park though is amazing. They have taken such great care of my dad. Food is delicious, very high standard, and varied. Activities every day. Home is clean and smells fresh. Cannot fault it. Staff are wonderful and very caring.
My mum has only been in your care for 6 weeks. Our family have been relieved to see how quickly she has settled in. We can't thank all the lovely staff for their care and attention enough. The activities arranged by the staff over the Xmas period were extremely varied and everyone was included.
Great care in a nice environment with warm and friendly staff.
