View Full Details of Grove Care HomeMy husband arrived after being in hospital. Certain drugs that he was given in hospital were not prescribed at the care home so he was very confused, unsettled and became aggressive. This was our first experience of a care home. We all realised (ourselves and care staff) that they could not cope with his condition of Lewy Body Dementia. He was asked to find somewhere else. Some of the carers were good and did genuinely appear to care; however I certainly felt that most staff never really properly supported either of us. I felt we were being talked about behind our backs and there was no real caring support. I was willing to support my husband and his carers. His care notes did not depict what was happening. The staff did little to encourage my husband to walk despite the fact that I managed to get the council physio to visit him regularly. My husband moved to another care home and is now home. On his first day at the new care home he had a shower which was never given at The Grove after a 6 week stay.
The Grove Care Home is set in a beautiful location. The staff are very professional with a very friendly and caring nature and welcome visitors with open arms. I am so glad my mother was in this care home for the final weeks before she passed. I can't thank the staff enough for their friendliness, care and support.
Our mother was staying at Grove Care Home. The staff were just angels to our mother. Must be the kindest people I have ever met. Our mother was looked after 'first-class'. I would recommend your home to anyone knowing their parent was safe in their hands.
Mum has settled into the Grove really well, her room is very nice with everything she needs. The staff are lovely and provide very good care. The food is very good and there seems to be plenty of activities to keep Mum occupied.
Mum is very happy at Grove. The care she gets is very good and all the staff know her well. The food is very good with lots of choice. We can tell when we visit that Mum is comfortable in all the public areas and also enjoys quiet time in her room. They also have a lot of different activities to keep the residents active and engaged where possible.
Overall care is good, relative requires a lot more attention as they get older. Staff try hard to make relatives as comfortable as possible, they try and spend as much time as they can with relatives and help them with eating requirements and personal hygiene.
Attentive staff, good food and great surroundings. Staff really care about their residents and engage in a friendly way. Activities and local trips are arranged for the more able residents, keeping their minds active.
We cannot fault the care my mum received during her time at the Grove. Very good communication. In my mum's final days staff and nurses were outstanding, they treated my mum with so much dignity and respect and showed so much compassion to myself and my wife. We have no negative words whatsoever.
A very welcoming home. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Mum has been a lot happier since moving here. Well fed and cared for.
I have no complaints about the home, my mother is very happy and content, she is well looked after. Myself and my brother are always greeted by friendly and helpful staff, we are kept informed of Mum's changing needs and condition. As a retired nurse, I have worked in environments similar and am happy with Mum's care.
Yet another new manager has just been advised. In general, care is okay but gets poor inspection reports. Some staff are excellent but others not so. Activities are poor for those more able residents. Not much choice locally.
Happy with the care my uncle is receiving. The staff are friendly and kind. The staff keep me informed.
Dad came to the care home for respite and moved into long-term care soon after. In the eight weeks Dad was there, the care and support given were extremely good. Nurses and carers did as much as they could for him and made him as comfortable as possible. They also were very good at supporting me and other family members when visiting.
All seems good, staff seem very good. Mum has settled in. I am contacted promptly when anything happens e.g. illness, falls etc.
Both my parents have been in Grove Care Home for four years. Mum has very advanced dementia and the staff always treats her with care and respect. Dad could be difficult at times, verbally abusive - but again the staff were excellent with him. During Covid, I felt assured that Mum and Dad were being cared for well in very difficult circumstances. Dad passed away three days ago and the staff were amazing and made the situation easier. The home is bright and airy. The outside area could perhaps be better in regards to the flowers and plants at the back.
Friendly staff that cared for Mum and Dad very well. Mum and Dad always seemed happy and content only downside was upstairs rooms get very hot in summer, even with the small windows open. Mum and Dad's personal hygiene was good so kept clean by the staff. Good arrangements for entertainment before Covid. Be good if the back garden was tidied and used more.
My husband had to be transferred to this nursing home and so far he has settled in with help from the staff after coming from a hospital experiment. Visiting of course has been scaled down but they have tried their best to accommodate our family.
My mother has been in the Grove for 2 years now and absolutely loves it. I had serious reservations about her going into a home as we had a bad experience with my Dad a few years back. However, all the worrying was unnecessary as the staff and home are fabulous! Nothing is ever too much bother. My mum has quite a cheeky personality and the staff are always laughing and joking with her. My Mum's health and wellbeing have improved so much since she went into the Grove. She now has the care and stimulation that she needs. I recently lost my brother and can't praise the staff highly enough for the support and understanding that they gave Mum and ourselves. I recommended the Grove to a friend and her family. I have since heard that her Grandad is soon to be residing at the home. The Grove has a very welcoming, homely feeling, and no words can describe how happy we are that Mum is a part of it all!
We thought it would be a rather daunting task looking for a suitable nursing care home when we had to make the unfortunate decision of putting our dad into long term care a few months ago. However, after a couple of weeks respite at The Grove in Kemnay, we decided that we need not look any further. From the moment we stepped into dads new home, it felt right. As far as we are concerned, it's a home from home for dad. The atmosphere is cheerful. Everyone, including staff and residents, welcomes you with a smile and a friendly word. The rooms are clean and brightly decorated and the meals are wholesome. We have peace of mind that dad is well cared for by both nursing and care staff alike and would have no hesitation in recommending The Grove to others faced with a similar dilemma. Thank you for all the care that you give. It's very much appreciated.
