View Full Details of Riverside View Care HomeLovely feeling to the home when you walk in. Manager goes above and beyond in every aspect of care home and residents. My husbands room is clean and comfortable, the food is excellent, I know this first hand as when my husband first went into care he wasn't eating, the manager asked me if I would have lunch with husband and he now eats both dinner and dessert. Staff are friendly and welcoming and I am more than happy as to how he is looked after.
The staff at riverside view are very good and treat my mam with good care and attention. Food is very good and freshly prepared ans good variety. The home is kept very clean and is cleaned daily.Mams Room is large with own bathroom and very nicely decorated which you can add to with your own decoration. Overall the care home is very good with great staff and management who look after the patients needs and listen to relatives if they have any issues.
I wish to convey my sincere thanks to the staff who helped my sister prepare for rehearsals in advance of her appearance and accompanied her on her performance playing the harmonica on the Dementias Talent Show at Darlington Theatre.
My brother was transferred to Riverside View from hospital after a fall which resulted in a fractured pelvis. From the moment he arrived, he was greeted with respect and friendliness by all the staff. He had great care and nothing was too much trouble for the staff whenever anything was required. The food was excellent and plentiful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
I have found the whole experience of Riverside Care Home very positive. The staff and management are all very caring nothing is too much trouble and I would recommend it to anyone considering respite care or other as a safe and welcoming place. It has very much helped me with my relative and has been a very positive experience. All requirements of residents are met with care and a positive outlook.
Riverside View is a lovely care home. A bright, clean, happy place, where my relative is safe and well looked after. The staff are friendly, caring and happy. The staff are the ones that make this care home what it is. A welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. Safe, secure, clean and homely. Well done, all staff!
I have visited this home for the last six years and have always found the staff friendly and caring. Residents' needs are met to their requirements.
Mam is very happy here. Staff are friendly and lots for Mam to do. Room nice and get informed if she takes ill or has a fall.
My dad receives excellent care and all the staff are friendly and approachable.
My husband is happy here, and as he has never been a social man, he is happy in his room with the television.
We would just like to thank all the staff for the kindness, care and compassion they showed not only to my mum but also to our family. During difficult times over the past few years when visits were limited it was of great comfort to know that my mum was well looked after in a professional and happy environment. The staff are a credit to their profession and no words can fully express my gratitude. Thank you.
My aunt spent her last 21 months in this home. She had settled in very well enjoying the care she received which relieved my sister and me of a great deal of concern while she had been living alone, especially during COVID. She was very happy with the staff and carers who were friendly, polite and always available to answer our questions and was able to make new friends. At the end of her time, she died in the home at the age of 99 surrounded by familiar people and in her own room with appropriate care.
I want to thank everyone at Riverside View Care Home for the brilliant care and love that has shown to my mam during the 5 years that she was resident. I have the utmost respect for everything that you guys do, in very difficult circumstances. I take my hat off to you all for working so hard at all times to make sure that those that are unable to care for themselves are looked after, safely, in comfort and are happy whenever possible. I feel that as an occupation you are overlooked and undervalued. I have nothing but the highest level of respect for you. My mam settled into the home very quickly, she seemed to be pretty happy. I don't have any experience or comparison with other care homes but she usually seemed content and smiling!
Always been very happy with care of my 2 aunties and my mum. Lovely staff and really care for the residents. The manager has been amazing and a great support to me whilst caring for my family.
I want to thank each and every one at Riverside for the care, attention, patience and compassion shown to my mam during the 5 years she spent at Riverside Care Home. I have the utmost admiration for everything that you guys do, in very difficult, restricted and challenging circumstances. I take my hat off to you all for working so hard at all times to make sure that those that are unable to care for themselves are looked after, safely, in comfort and are happy whenever possible. The job you guys do is so often overlooked and undervalued. I have nothing but the highest level of respect for you. My mam may not have been able to thank you herself but please may I take the opportunity to do so on her behalf. It was of great comfort to us all that in her final years she was in such good hands. I don't have any experience or comparison with other care homes but I know she was happy and content with the genuine care, company and humour that filled her time with you.
I expected to be here for six weeks but due to unforeseen circumstances, I am still here after four months. I have found the whole experience demoralising, depressing and a bit scary. Having said that the staff have been excellent they are helpful and friendly and have been accommodating in allowing my partner to be with me every day.
I cannot rate the standard of care that my mum receives highly enough! I would give the home six stars out of five if I could. The warmth and genuine affection that she is given - even at her most troubled dementia moments - is just as anyone would want for their much loved mum. The home is extremely well run, clean and fresh, the residents are well monitored and fed and cajoled into suitable activities. The staff go out of their way to accommodate requests - I live 300 miles away but I am able to have regular video calls with her, courtesy of the wonderful activities staff. Mum is as happy as she could possibly be in the circumstances and I can never express my gratitude adequately.
Over the past six and a half years, my mother, and initially my father, have been cared for at Riverside View. I know CQC judges a home on these five things - safe, caring, responsive and well-run. I would score Riverside highly on all of these things. The manager is an exceptional registered manager, and her staff (from some of whom have been with her for many years) are a credit to her. She has shown amazing patience and skill in working with my mother and with her family. This has been much appreciated. My mother died the day this was posted. I would like to say how well the staff worked with my mothers palliative care and how good they were with my sister and I and supported us on our last day with my mother.
My 94-year-old uncle became a resident 5 months ago. He has mixed dementia, limited sight and hearing and poor mobility. As a family, we cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful staff who have cared for him with so much warmth, patience and kindness, especially with the added difficulties of the Covid pandemic. My uncle is treated with respect and with an appreciation and understanding of his dementia by all the staff we have met. As his family, we have also felt supported by the staff and encouraged to contact them if we have any questions or worries. Nothing is too much trouble. It is so comforting and reassuring to know he is looked after by such caring professionals.
Dad joined the home in August at the age of 90, following a series of falls and being diagnosed with dementia. Throughout his stay, I have been greatly encouraged and pleased by the care and treatment shown by all staff. Despite not being able to enter the home, I have been impressed by the kindness and professionalism expressed by staff and management. Dad is obviously happy and content in the home, he looks healthy and is well-groomed and talkative.
