View Full Details of Cedar LodgeI struggle to put into words quite how grateful we are as a family for everyone at Cedar Lodge. The care they provide my grandmother is simply incredible. She is always clean and tidy, is always involved in what is happening day to day and all of her individual needs (especially around food) are dealt with without issue. Communication is fantastic and everyone is so friendly, you always feel so welcome when visiting. We are so lucky to have found you, thank you so much.
When my mother's dementia increased, we tried keeping her at home with carers attending but she found this difficult with so many different people attending. I looked at 5 different possible care homes and Cedar Lodge stood out as the place mum would be happy. The manager and staff are wonderful and treat the residents as if in their own home. It has a real homely feeling. The manager was very accommodating and provided an extra low bed for mum as she is under 5ft. They also painted the room before her arrival and helped to put her favourite pictures on the walls. The staff are all very welcoming, caring and kind. Mum has been there for 15 months and is very happy. She just celebrated her 92nd Birthday and was spoilt with the most amazing birthday cake made by the chefs. They have started music therapy which mum has enjoyed and found of great benefit. Thank you to all the staff at Cedar Lodge.
I thought it was time to write a review for everyone at Cedar Lodge. My husband moved into his new home from Cedar Lawn on the 1st of Feb 2024, having received the shocking news Cedar Lawn was closing he was very happy and settled there and didn't think it would be as good. How wrong we were, Cedar Lodge is superb all the staff and management are exceptional, so kind to us, and always available. My husband's care is exceptional plus it is always given in a caring, kind way. We are blessed. No one every moans. The staff are always available and we both thank each and everyone at Cedar Lodge.
When our sister's dementia increased, we were able to move her from Cedar Lawn to Cedar Lodge where the love, care, and attention she received under MHA continued. All the staff treat her with dignity and understanding, giving the personal touch by using her name. Any medical concerns are communicated immediately. The family are warmly welcomed and is included within the community. We appreciate the time that the Chaplain gives to our sister as she can no longer attend the services. When our sister was more active, she enjoyed the activities provided, particularly the art and music, receiving additional individual music therapy. Our sister's room has a light and airy feel to it. It is always clean and fresh. We have been able to personalise it with her own framed pictures. We cannot thank everyone involved enough for their dedication and understanding.
From the moment I first made contact with Cedar Lodge everyone has been so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Always greeted with a smile, all the staff are so kind. Mum has been very content, we are so happy she is in very safe hands. A lovely place for Mum's respite.
Overall a good care home, with some relapses e.g. not always notified about hospital letters for appointments. Sometimes not enough things to do. Happy with all of the staff they are lovely.
My Dad was at Cedar Lodge for nearly 18 months. In all that time the staff have been so caring and kind. The home has a lovely friendly and family feel. This is a home with a big heart. The staff have gone above and beyond for Dad, and my brother and I are hugely grateful for their care and compassion. We will always remember Dad's time there with fondness and wish everyone at Cedar Lodge the very best for the future.
My mum came to Cedars 6 months ago. I have to say I just wished I had found it years back. My mum is now getting excellent care and her condition is understood and handled with professionalism but with such kindness, I come away knowing Mum is in the best place and I no longer have worries. The staff on every level are just amazing full of energy which just makes the home come alive. The therapy and entertainment that are given to enhance the residents' lives are brilliant. The spiritual side of the home has been wonderful and Mum enjoys the services on a Thursday. All I ever wanted was for Mum to live the last chapters of her life with people who understood and could give her the care she needed. She has so much more at Cedar Lodge from the time she went through their doors she became part of the family. I now sleep at night knowing she is in safe hands.
Dad seems well looked after and happy. The staff are all very attentive towards the residents and work very hard. Although busy the staff try to spend time with the residents when time allows. The home is well-appointed, the lounge being a particularly nice place to sit and chat. The garden areas are nice to sit in in the better weather and are kept tidy with lots of flowers. Everywhere is generally clean and tidy with cleaning being carried out on an almost constant basis with only very occasional lapses when there have been crumbs left after a snack. Dad enjoys the activities and has made a group of friends who are usually sat together.
The care home manager and staff made my mother feel at home, one of the family of residents from the beginning. This has made her transition to a new way of life much easier than expected and put our family's minds at ease. My mother has made new friends, including the carers and often says she is being pampered especially when she has her hair and nails done in the salon. As her sister observed "she seems comfortable where she is and looked really well." We are forever grateful.
At the beginning of February Dad became a resident here moving from Cedar Lawn and during every step of the way, the staff have been welcoming, caring and informative with respect to Dad and helping to make what was a somewhat difficult transition into a really happy and comfortable one. I cannot really thank the manager and every one in the team enough because the help they have given me and my mum with this move has genuinely made a difference in us all getting used to new things together and finding out about the home and other residents. Dad is enjoying his meals, and the company of others and is secure in the knowledge that he is safe and settled which means such a lot in this stage of his life. Thank you for making February 2024 such a positive one.
Always a pleasant experience to visit a resident at Cedar Lodge. All the staff we've met are most helpful and courteous on every occasion. The lady resident we visit are always full of praise for the food, and facilities and are so happy to be at Cedar Lodge.
Cedar Lodge is staffed by truly inspirational, caring people who supported both my mum and me through a very difficult time. I was so impressed, I've become a volunteer!
My mum has received exceptional care at Cedar Lodge in the short time she has been there. During a difficult transitional period, she was made welcome and all her care needs were addressed enabling her to settle into a home which cares for its residents with compassion and respect.
The carers and nurses were extremely caring to both us as a family and Dad. His care was faultless and they were by our sides when Dad passed. They treated him with love and compassion. Thank you.
I cannot thank all the wonderful staff enough for the amount of care, support and compassion given to my father during the 10 months he was there. Nothing was too much trouble he was encouraged to join in the activities which he enjoyed very much and the church service each Thursday. I was kept updated at all times with regard to any health concerns and felt Dad could never have been in a better place to spend the last 10 months of his life. I never ever wanted my father to go into care but the experience of him being at Cedar Lodge has given me faith, knowing that they genuinely do care for all residents. It's not an easy job and at times very challenging but they shone through. Thank you to all at Cedar Lodge, I feel like I have lost a family as well as a father.
The care, love and support you all showed to our father-in-law/dad was amazing, he did love it there and often said he loved all the carers that looked after him until he deteriorated and passed away on the 18th of July 2023, your caring and supporting kindness to him and his family will stay with us always, the laughter and positive outlook was more than just a job to you all, you are all angels. The staff and management could not do enough for him and the family, we will be forever grateful and wish you all the luck in your continued love and care to your patients god bless you all.
We have recently moved Mum into Cedar Lodge Care Home from another care home and the difference is remarkable! Mum is so much happier, she is treated with such kindness and respect. The staff are welcoming to visitors and their joy and love are infectious. This is a happy home, brilliantly led.
We are indebted to all the beautiful staff at Cedar Lodge Care Home who looked after our dear dad with so much love and care in the last two years of his life. He couldn’t have wished for such an amazing team who showed him dignity, respect and kindness at all times. It really felt like one big family and we will be eternally grateful. Under challenging conditions, the manager has led her team by example. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Cedar Lodge for anyone who is looking for a caring, loving environment for their loved one. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. With love.
I must congratulate Cedar Lodge on their excellent care they have given my mother, it was not an easy decision to put her into full-time care and we took our time to choose a home we both like. Cedar Lodge is literally home from home and I cannot fault it. The staff are always friendly and always happy to help with minor problems to make Mum feel comfortable and happy. Mum was so pleased to have her photo taken for me with her birthday cake so we could share that moment. Keep doing a fantastic job.
