View Full Details of The Grange Retirement HomeI would not give it one star. My mother was admitted with a vacuum pump the nurses admitted to me that they had no training for a pump. I had to get her medication from the pharmacy as the staff were too lazy to get it. I was not allowed to take it with me when she left, at what cost to the NHS? Although I provided shower gel etc they washed her in shampoo. Water and the bed table were put out of her reach, water was not changed daily (I have photos). Her teeth were not cleaned and her tongue turned black (I have photos). She did have a window in her room but there was always a car parked in front of it so she couldn’t see out. They accused me of hitting her which I did not. They reported me to the police who just laughed but the manager told her she would never see me again. When she was re-admitted to the hospital the doctor told me she had been neglected and the sores on her back were infected which should have been picked up. I have written to the owners of the home but they cannot be bothered to answer me.
Dad spent the last 5 years at The Grange Nursing Home. His care was exceptional. All the care workers went out of their way to care for Dad. From management right through to the food chefs ad cleaners, all was great. We have made lifetime friendships with some. It was especially sad for us the last year as Dad's health deteriorated. They went the extra mile. Thank you.
Met with manager and had introduction to the Grange in April 2021, when my husband first arrived. He was taken care of, after tea and biscuits, by staff whose friendly, caring and respectful attitude made my concerns drift away. I had been dubious as to how this change of life would affect my husband, himself and we, as a family. Being each, as a person in charge of their own life - in the familiarity of their own home. This, I felt, was going to be difficult and a challenge. However, I felt that my husband would be safe and cared for and would be treated as an individual. So, although sad at the end of each visit, I know he will be in good hands in the knowledge and kindness shown by his carers.
My wife, who has Dementia, has been a resident of The Grange since January 2020. Caring for her needs can be very demanding. I have no concerns because the staff look after her with care, dedication and dignity. She has a lovely room which is always very clean and tidy, as is the home. There is an excellent team who organise activities and entertainment for the residents on a regular basis. With the pandemic, the home has been excellent in remaining virus-free and have arranged for relatives to see their loved ones by way of Facetime or Zoom. I would be quite happy to recommend The Grange to anyone seeking a retirement home for a relative.
Dad has been at The Grange Retirement Home since June 2017. From the day I had my initial appointment back then and to this day, I have been extremely impressed and grateful for all that is done for him. The staff are very caring and take good care of him but also Mom who visits twice a week. She has an extended family there that care for her as well. She is extremely sad not to be able to care for him personally, but she knows every day he is in the best hands. I've had good communication and confidence in the current management team as well as the previous team. Special mention goes to one member of staff in particular who is just great but I have great admiration for all the staff there, they are a real asset to the home and a blessing for us as a family. Keep up the good work and a big thank you again.
My Mother has been a resident at The Grange for over five years now. She settled easily with the help and support of all the staff, many of whom are still working at The Grange which I'm so pleased about as they have become friends, not only to Mother but to myself too. With the exceptional circumstances of the pandemic over the past 18 months, I know that all the staff have worked so hard to maintain life at The Grange as normal as possible for my Mother and all the residents, and full credit to them that they have remained Covid free.
The Grange has successfully negotiated the difficult times since March 2020 under the very experienced and capable current managment team, who are positive, friendly and approachable, which gives confidence in your loved one's care. There are some particularly outstanding staff members, including many excellent longstanding staff members. Every staff member I have met has always been friendly, considerate and caring, always making me feel welcome during visits. And I have always seen residents being treated with dignity and respect. Having been a frequent visitor before covid, The Grange has a comfortable homely feel, a place where residents and visitors can feel at ease, and not at all like the institutional feel of many care homes. With lovely well maintained gardens too, where the residents are taken to enjoy, whenever the weather permits.
My 96-year-old father has been a resident of The Grange prior to and throughout the pandemic. Throughout this time, I have always been impressed with the level of care provided to him. There is a strong professional ethic within the team, from the lady in the office to the manager and the care team who display such kindness in their support to both my father and myself and my brothers. The nursing team are wonderful and ensure Dad’s health is proactively managed. The food is also very good. Knowing that Dad has been safe and well cared for has been worth its weight in gold. Thank you, everyone.
My relative needed recuperation following a serious illness. The Grange offered a safe and secure environment for my relative in which she was able to rest when she needed it the most. The one to one support that the care home has been able to provide has allowed her to regain her skills and confidence again. I have always been highly impressed by the commitment and care of the staff.
My father went to The Grange for palliative care. My stepmother joined him and has remained here. From the moment we walked into The Grange I felt at ease. They made the most difficult time of my life more bearable. The kindness they showed not only to my father but to all of us was amazing. We felt so at ease there, free to do as we like. My father wasn't easy but they always dealt with him with compassion. He died with so much dignity.
Very friendly and caring staff. I feel my Grandad is well looked after and assist him with his needs. He is much happier being here and enjoys spending time with staff, whom I see make him laugh, which is very heartwarming. I would recommend The Grange as they are very friendly to relatives and can't help enough. Everyone loves giving my baby a cuddle and ensuring we are happy on our visits too.
The Grange Retirement Home have looked after my mum so well. The staff are wonderful, it's lovely and clean. Food looks good I'm glad I bought her here.
My husband has only been a resident for nearly two months at The Grange Retirement Home, but his quality of life has really improved. The atmosphere at the home is friendly and homely. The staff are very cheerful and caring. They treat my husband with respect and have a laugh and a joke with him. I'm kept informed of his progress and wellbeing and any changes. Visitors are made welcome and friends and relatives have commented on how lovely the home is. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Grange. There are also plenty of activities, which are well thought out.
My Mother has been at The Grange for 5 years now and I cannot fault the care she has received. She has Dementia and sometimes this can be difficult, but the staff always treat her with the utmost respect and they really do care for her and often take time to pop into her room just for a chat. Her room is spotless as are all the public areas and she is always clean and tidy. There is always some sort of entertainment going on at The Grange and all the other residents seem happy and friendly. The food looks good and plentiful. A wonderful family feeling to the whole house.
The standard of The Grange is excellent. My husband's room and the public areas are kept very clean and tidy. All facilities are well maintained. The staff are very friendly and willing to listen to me when I have concerns about my husband's care and welfare. My husband, aged 98, had advanced dementia and cancer and the staff treat him with dignity and respect even when he is being difficult. The food is exceptional and varied. The staff really put themselves out to organise activities for the residents and take them out into the lovely garden. Security is first class. I am very satisfied with this care provider.
After another fall it became clear my widowed Mum could no longer stay safely in her home, I began the search I had been dreading - to find somewhere that would cater for Mum's growing needs but that would still feel like 'home'. How very lucky was I to find The Grange in Chertsey! Every member of staff I have encountered, from the manager down, has been caring, kind and sensitive to her needs, safety and welfare as well as showing enormous consideration to her family. After a three week respite-stay whilst I took a break, it was clear my Mum had benefitted hugely from having delicious home-cooked meals and the company of the staff and other residents, so I decided to extend her stay and make it permanent. The Grange has a wonderful ethos and treats all its residents with respect and dignity regardless of their condition or status. I know my Mum is being well cared for and now when I visit her, we spend quality time together, sharing a meal or chatting in the garden instead of me worrying about her safety, shopping and housework. Thank you, The Grange, for giving me my Mum back.
My mother has been at The Grange for nearly a year and she's been very happy. She's been very well looked after. All the carers and staff do a wonderful job. I would recommend The Grange to anyone.
The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The home is excellent - everywhere is clean and tidy. I would recommend this home to anyone who asked. All the staff are excellent.
My brother has just moved in 15 days ago and he likes it.
The Grange is an amazing place. The care given to residents by all the staff from management to the cleaning staff is superb. But don't need two hundred words, on two is needed. Fabulous/outstanding. Love The Grange!
