View Full Details of The Lombrand LtdI have visited Lombrand for 10 years as a trustee for my late aunt's Trust Fund, together with a solicitor, administering monies left in her Will for the benefit of both her only son and for the good of the Home's residents. I found the management especially caring, with funds issued weekly but kept modest, to avoid excessive cigarette consumption. Clothing is regularly reviewed and my cousin is complimentary on the food provided. The Trust provides a modest amount at Christmas for both staff presents and for the benefit of the residents for extra personal spending, with the management's caring advice. I cannot endorse in any way these latest CQC findings, which have taken a surprising 3 months to publish and contradict a positive CQC report as recently as May 2020. No account has been taken for the massive disruption caused by Covid, and it is quite wrong to criticise room decoration at a time when tradespeople were either not available or unwilling to work for the risk of infection.
Our son has been a resident in the Lombrand for approximately 8 years and settled in straight away. The staff have always been very friendly and caring, offering different activities on a regular basis (pre-Covid). In fact, several of the staff are still there which speaks highly of the genuine owners, who are both hands-on when required. Covid has caused many negative changes over the last two years to the detriment of residents and staff but through their efforts and procedures, they steered clear of this horrendous illness. I would recommend anyone to view their site or visit, as appropriate if you have a requirement.
