View Full Details of Woodleigh ManorWe had a struggle finding a home for our dad with his dementia but Woodleigh welcomed him with open arms. We were told on our first visit they were "rough and ready" but you will never meet a better group of people. The care, love and support the management and staff gave to him and the other residents was amazing, he settled down and Woodleigh became his second home. Sadly Dad passed away in December but we will be forever grateful to the manager and all the fantastic staff for making his final year so happy and making his family so welcome. Thank you all.
My dad was a resident at Woodleigh Manor and he sadly passed away in December 2024. The care he received whilst living at Woodleigh was amazing. It became a second home to him. The manager and all the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. So very caring, not just to Dad but all the family/visitors. Dad was previously a very fussy eater but whilst at Woodleigh he ate everything so thank you to the cooks. He particularly enjoyed the homemade cakes. The whole family will be forever grateful for the love and care they gave Dad. He was very happy living at Woodleigh and we could not have asked for anything better.
My mum has been in the home for the last 6 years. Myself and my siblings have seen the care home improve over the 18 months. The home has been decorated, and new furniture added, which makes it feel more homely and modernised. The management and all staff, are very caring and supportive of mum's needs. When we visit, they are all friendly and approachable towards us. Meaningful activities have been greatly improved for residents' daily stimulation. It is really nice to see them playing games, and making things together. We are happy and content with Mum living in Woodleigh for the near future.
The management is fantastic. She will go out of her way to help you and sort any issues you have. She is always at the end of the phone or working on the floor which is good to see. Sshe will go far out of her way to help the residents in her care which again is good to see. Not one of these managers that likes to sit in their office and not get there hands dirty. The staff are fantastic. They will go out of their way for everyone. Which again is very good to see. They do work some long hours with some very difficult residents but they just take it in their stride. And again always happy to listen to any issues or problems you may have. We could not ask for better people to be looking after our family member.
My dad's been at Woodleigh Manor since May 2024, the staff and management are so caring towards him. They know how to interact with him as with dementia he can be quite stubborn. For the first time in years he's actually started putting weight on so we know he's getting well looked after. I could not praise the staff and management enough for the care my dad is receiving.
Mum has been here since March 24. She can be very challenging at times due to her dementia but the staff are patient and kind to her always. They treat her with respect and know it's not her true personality. They have made a difficult and emotional journey an easier one and helped us as a family navigate through this cruel disease. If you visit, please look past the decor (although this is going through a period of redecoration), a care home is so much more than aesthetics, it is about what the staff does with the residents. Mum has never fallen or suffered any additional ill health since being there which is a high risk for her normally considering all her health needs so this reflects so positively on the staff.
Excellent service in all aspects of care staff go over and beyond to help and support families. My mum can be very challenging but the staff just accept this and say it's not a problem and we will look after her for you which they do.
My mother and father were both residents here. Unfortunately, they have both passed away in the last five months but the care they both received whilst here was outstanding. All the staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to do the best for them. I will always be eternally grateful for all the care my parents received, especially towards their end of life. They really care about their residents which to me is the most important quality a care home should have. Many Thanks for everything.
My family will be forever grateful for the care my dad received at Woodleigh Manor. Dementia tried to strip away his dignity over the last few years yet the staff saw through that and recognised the man he was. His care was always tailored to him as an individual and he settled far better than we ever thought possible. His mental health actually improved after becoming a resident there, again, we never thought that possible. There was such care and compassion shown to Dad (and Mum as she visited him), particularly at his end of life. For staff to keep this up whilst working so hard...remarkable people. Thank you.
As a family, we cannot rate the management and staff at Woodleigh Manor high enough. The care and compassion shown to my mum throughout her stay, and in particular at the end of her life, went above and beyond and we, as a family, will be eternally grateful.
The staff are all equally caring, they handle people with dementia etc, in quiet and subtle ways. If you walk in and see any of the residents without a slipper or socks it won't be because the staff don't care - they will have tried to keep them on but there is no point in upsetting the resident by insisting. They all have a great sense of humour with everyone (each other, residents and relatives).
Meet my mum's needs, treat her as an individual and are perceptive to changes in mum's needs on a daily basis. Good care and excellent food. Mum is settled here. The staff never stop trying to improve mum's care.
Woodleigh Manor is truly fantastic. It is the quality of care at this facility that makes it second to none. The staff are outstanding in every aspect but their biggest asset is that they care. It is more than just a job to them. My mother transferred from a "very fancy" care home. I would not send my worst enemy there! Mum arrived at Woodleigh in terrible health but thanks to the care of the staff, her improvement both mentally (Alzheimers) and physically is nothing short of a miracle. Thanks to all at Woodleigh. You are the greatest!
