View Full Details of Gwendoline House Residential HomeI am very happy here. Very well cared for. Any issues I have had have been dealt with to my satisfaction very quickly. I get on well with all the staff members. They are very kind and anything I need is always provided. The food is excellent and I enjoy every meal, have plenty of choices offered and a good variety. The management always comes round to ask if any problems and are very nice and approachable. It's home from home here.
Employees are always friendly when you walk in. The entire house appears tidy and uncluttered. The meal being prepared smells delicious and I've been there twice around dinnertime. I gave the staff members three stars since my friend has mentioned twice that night shift workers can be irritable and short if she calls the emergency ring for assistance. The management is excellent, compassionate, and sets a high standard.
Gwendoline House has provided a happy and caring environment for my mum, who sadly suffers from vascular dementia. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff who are all friendly and supportive. It is a tremendous relief to know that she is so well looked after, particularly during the Covid pandemic. I have always received a warm welcome as a visitor and have been kept informed of any change in Mum's health/condition. Gwendoline House has provided a true home for her in the very best sense of the word.
Gwendoline House is a lovely home. The staff are kind and caring and my dad is very happy here. The staff are very informative and keep me fully updated about Dad and I am very grateful for their support.
All the staff are kind and caring.
A lovely, friendly team that is happy to help and look after me. The facilities are very good and the staff put on events to engage and entertain us.
Very happy with the care my grandma received from Gwendoline House, especially one staff member who always went above and beyond for my grandma and it was a real comfort to know she was being attended to like a family member and not just pound signs. I feel residents would benefit from more days out but I understand due to Covid this had to stop, hopefully, it can continue soon. Thank you.
I am pleased that my mother is very happy in Gwendoline House and I am confident she is in safe hands. Gwendoline House always contacts me with any issues that arise and I am able to visit regularly. Due, primarily, to visits from a nurse and on occasion a doctor, her ulcerated leg, which was quite bad when she first went to the home, has all but healed. My mother tells me that she sleeps well and thoroughly enjoys all the meals.
For my aunt, this care home suits her very well. It is quaint and cosy (like her own house was) and the staff are better than good on the whole. Caring, patient, and kind and treat the residents with dignity and amenable. The matron is such a dedicated and kind person who has the residents' needs uppermost in her work every day and we always get informed of any change in resident's health. Put on a lovely day for the Queen's Jubilee for us and residents. A great find.
In January 2019, I became unsafe living alone and moved into residential care near my daughter. I have my own room with a TV and the staff look after me very well, I feel safe and well looked after by lovely people.
Overall a good and clean home, staff are courteous and helpful, if, unfortunately, a little understaffed. (Normal nowadays for all care homes).
I found the care for my mother was very good. At all times she was looked after and any problems were dealt with in an effective manner. The staff were kind, polite and attentive. If she required medical attention it was sought as soon as possible. I felt that she was safe and well cared for in a small, homely environment. I would recommend Gwendoline House to anyone seeking care for a relative.
My mother has lived in residential care since the 1st of January 2019. She became unable to safely live alone miles away from me, I did not drive. She has her own room and TV where she is looked after very well by lovely caring people. I sleep better at night now I am assured that my mother is safe and cared for.
We are and have always been incredibly happy with Gwendoline House. My nan is very well taken care of even if she doesn't always want to be anywhere else than her home, but myself and my family are comforted by knowing that she is in the safest of hands and treated like she is one of their own family. Wonderful atmosphere and the staff feel like friends. Five stars.
Gwendoline House is very friendly and welcoming, this includes all the staff and owner. My mother's family all appreciated everything that was done for her. It was a pleasure for my mother to spend the last 2 years of her life there and would recommend this home to anyone.
