View Full Details of Deepdene Care CentreMy wife and I visited my mother, on September 2nd 2024. Mum had been at Deepdene since the beginning of 2024. She began to decline between the 2nd and 11th of September, passing peacefully in her room on Wednesday evening. Our interaction with the staff was quite wonderful. Every member of staff we came into contact with was caring, kind, gentle, concerned and warm-hearted. We interacted with 16 members of staff over the ten days that we were to sit with mum, morning, afternoon and night. The lady at reception was outstanding. Her kindness, generosity and helpful demeanour was superb. The manager was tremendous and obviously is the driving force behind this splendid team of carers. She was practical, helpful, extremely knowledgeable and so very kind and sensitive. The carer we had the most contact with was wonderful. She was always on hand to help, administer easing medication, and always with clear precise advice, that helped us all immeasurably. An outstanding Team.
I've had dealings with Deepdene since the end of 2033 when my mum arrived at the care home. From day one, management and staff have been engaged with mum's care in a most professional yet personal way. I visit often and always find excellent conditions. All the staff appear to know the current state of play at any given time! I'm particularly comfortable with the medical aspect of the care. Whenever I point out where some help or input is needed, it's dealt with immediately. I'd recommend Deepdene to anyone in a similar position to me.
My mum has dementia and has been a resident at the home for just over a year. In her own words she tells me that "the food is very good and the bed very comfortable". The staff are all 100% committed to making sure that all the residents are very well looked after and treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve. When I leave the home after visiting, a member of staff often sits with my mum for a time to make sure that she is ok. The home is beautifully clean and there are always plenty of activities going on. Having visited relatives staying at several homes in the area I can honestly say that Deepdene Care Centre is the best. The only real downside is that visitors parking is very limited however there is a large public car park about 100 metres away.
Both my parents have been residents at Deepdene. The care they have received has been exemplary. My father passed recently leaving my Mother who has serious dementia living alone and the Deepdene team are all so supportive of her at this difficult time. The rooms are spacious and cleaned to a high standard. The food is well prepared and my mother is very happy with the variety and quality. But most of all it is the staff who do so much to care for the residents that make Deepdene a great place for my Mother to spend her last years.
We are very happy with the care my parents receive at Deepdene, from the nursing support, activities provided and most importantly the friendship shown by the staff. The family fun day was amazing, great music, lovely food and fun entertainment.
My mother was in a previous care setup and struggled quite significantly with her mental health, since she has moved to Deepdene she has transformed. She thrives in the friendly respectful environment and feels welcome and well looked after. Since her transfer she has had a long period of stability - long may it continue. Thank you to each team member for your care.
I am happy with the care my dad is given and that he is treated with respect. They have a great entertainment programme also which I'm sure he gets great joy from. I believe he is well looked after and is happy.
What a lovely, kind and caring place. We have just attended a fun day and the organisation was amazing. Everyone, including visitors, were so spoilt. All the staff that we have met were so genuine and caring towards the residents. Thank you for caring for my family so well.
Couldn't be happier to bring my volunteer therapy dog to Deepdene. The care and support they give their residents and staff is second to none, Brandy the PAT dog is part of the family and we love everyone.
I went to a lovely meeting/tea on May 8th, which was to raise money for Alzheimer's disease, and discuss the future plans for the care home. I believe quite a lot of money was raised. My partner, who has Alzheimer's was there with me. The management team talked about the plans for Deepdene. This included changes within the building, and additional staff for activities and mealtime support. They are clearly taking any resident's opinions in regard to their food seriously, and making sure that their chef is totally involved in this process. Senior management spoke with understanding and humour and emphasised that this was an important concern which was being highlighted. For me, the key point of the meeting was the fact that the care home has not had to use bank staff in the last year! This says so much about the high quality of people employed at Deepdene. l feel this also links directly to the senior management team and the way they value all their amazing staff.
Very satisfied with the service of care for my elderly cousin The staff are friendly and very caring. They keep me informed on any medical issues. The level of care that they give my cousin is excellent. Would highly recommend it. Our primary contact when we call is the lady in reception she is always so friendly and helpful. Many Thanks to all at Deepdene.
My brother has been a resident of Deepdene Care Centre for several years and I am very happy with the care and respect he receives. All staff members work hard and treat patients, relatives, and visitors with respect and consideration.
I confirm that I feel relaxed and that everything is being done to the highest level to make the residents cared for. They also keep me updated on any problems that occur. It is important that we can be reassured there are no major problems.
My mum seems happy and settled. The carers and nurses are all very kind, caring and friendly, she gets on with them all as far as I’ve seen. She can be challenging but they all deal with that. The food can be an issue (purée diet) no one ever seems to know what it is! It would be nice to tell Mum what she’s eating. She loves her puddings but there isn’t always a choice mostly just yoghurt (I’ve mentioned it numerous times) Cleaning isn’t 100% and laundry can sometimes be an issue too, but someone will go and look for any item that seems to be missing or find clothes for Mum if she doesn’t have many. I think that both the cleaning and laundry staff work very hard but there’s a lot to do! The activities staff visit Mum as she mostly doesn’t want to join in and make her feel included. She loves visits from the therapy dog too! Overall Deepdene is a very welcoming place (especially the receptionist) and everybody who works there is friendly and caring and works hard. I would recommend it.
Since my mother was moved here, the care has been excellent. Every effort to settle her (she is 96). The staff are always kind and happy and very helpful.

Staff seem helpful and caring. They keep me updated of any medical issues by phone when needed. Eating is an issue, attempts are being made to address the type of food he will eat and hopefully assistance in eating it. Only negative is clothes, takes a long times, e.g. socks/hankie to be returned to room. Also loss of false teeth!
I am very happy with the care my husband is getting at Deepdene. My only criticism is the laundry service, which is extremely slow, i.e. it can take ten days to return items and even then I have to keep asking as clothes running out.
Very satisfied with the level of service and care that my wife gets, plus the staff are very friendly towards me when I visit.
In the last 3.5 months, my mum has settled in really well. Always happy and content. This is due to the care she has now. Wonderful staff, all very caring, keeping Mum safe and sound. Very welcoming when we arrive to see Mum. The receptionist is very polite as well. We are very pleased with the home and staff.
