View Full Details of Rutland Care VillageThe care given to my wife over the past year has been exceptional. The care staff right down to the tea lady and the cleaners all really did care. Nothing seemed too much trouble whatever the occasion. Despite her dementia the staff did everything to make her stay as comfortable and friendly as possible
My sister was a resident in the dementia unit for 17 years. She was cared for with great kindness and compassion. I varied my visits at different days and times, and always found her clean and bedlinen spotless. No complaints at all about her treatment. I was always made to feel welcome as a visitor.
Found all members of staff to be extremely helpful and caring. My Dad was treated with dignity and respect throughout. Sadly was for end-of-life care which was three weeks. I was able to be there until the end. It was reassuring that the end was very peaceful. Kindness and understanding was shown to myself and my family. Thank you.
My Mum has recently passed away having spent over 2 years in Cottesmore Lodge. The staff have been amazing throughout caring and tending to her daily needs. Her final days were dealt with dignity and thoughtfulness the family couldn't have wished for anything more. Heartfelt thanks to each and every one.
Excellent and friendly care throughout the period of being here, both to the resident and her family. Good contact maintained by the care home with me, keeping me informed where necessary. Helped resident to integrate when she first moved in, with range of activities and opportunity to meet other residents of both the care homes and the supported cottages that form the care village complex. Particularly supportive and caring during periods of illness, and at the end of life, supporting both the resident and the family.
The Rutland Care Village has provided me with much-needed care, support and stability, since my long stay in hospital and my issues with my family. All of the team and particularly the caring staff, were at best remarkable to me showing their professional and friendly approach side to me. The management at best was supportive of my needs and encouraged me to move forward to my next stage of living back into normal outside life with care and support. I thank them all for their approach to my needs and help to move on to my next challenge without their help this would have not been possible. I have moved into a warden-controlled flat, with care services provided by others. Without the help of the facilities at Rutland Care Village, this would have not been possible. The very best of luck to all the caring staff and all the support workers at the facility, may they carry on doing their work.
My dad recently passed away after being a resident at Quorn Lodge for 5 years. In my experience, the Lodge was very well run and Dad was well looked after. I feel that he was treated as a person and that he felt very much at home while he was living there, and enjoyed having a joke and a laugh with the staff. In the end, he was treated with sensitivity and everything was done to make him comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend Rutland Care Village.
My husband suffered a server stroke (in the words of the doctor, "massive") and was sent to Ruland Care Village. I was distraught, nervous and worried, but all the staff were supportive and caring. The carers themselves were always respectful of my husband's emotions and moods (and there were plenty). Thank you to all of you for the lovely work you do in helping and supporting your clients.
Staff are caring, attentive and patient with residents and family members. The home is clean at all times I have visited. Activities are frequently held, bingo, singers, comedians and more recently a trip out. Unit managers are approachable and proactive in responding to requests from family.
As a family, we are happy with the service being provided. All the staff we have contact with when we visit are always very helpful and kind. The Care Village is well run and kept to a high standard. We are very happy our dad is being cared for at Rutland Care Village.
Very pleasant and caring staff. Clean and welcoming environment. Excellent standard of care. Needs more activities for residents - what is happening with the day centre. Concerns regarding social interaction. Would be helpful if staff could routinely (at least daily) assist my mother with walking to increase strength, confidence and independence.
My mother-in-law stayed in the Rutland Village care home for the final part of her life, after being hospitalized after leading a very fruitful and independent life. In the short time that she was there, she became very fond of (and knew by name) all of the staff that cared for her and they did care for her extremely well. The care village is an extremely pleasant, peaceful and well maintained location and the residents have their own room with French windows viewing the garden areas. I cannot state just how helpful and accommodating the staff were, not only with my mother-in-law, but also to the family members that visited her during this period. This was especially so during her final days, where they allowed her daughters to stay with her during the final days of her passing. I would recommend the care village to anyone placing their loved one into a care home.
The team at Cottesmore Lodge are true angels. They all look after my mum with such love, dignity and care. I have just returned from being away for a few weeks on holiday and not once did I find myself worrying whether or not my mum was okay. I was able to completely trust the team, who really go above and beyond in exceeding expectations!
My father has just passed way at the age of 92. He was a resident in Cottesmore Lodge at Rutland Care Village for 3 years. He was incredibly well looked after by the team there, a member of staff, in particular, kept me up to date on his welfare. His room was clean and tidy, and from what I saw, all the residents in that wing were treated with dignity and affection. Thank you to the team for looking after Dad.
The care provided by the staff in Bracken Cottage is faultless. My mother is in a safe, secure and caring environment - all her needs, both medical and non-medical, are met and in a lot of cases exceeded.
First and foremost I do appreciate what a difficult job it is in caring for the elderly, and no way do I want to appear to criticise the staff in any way. The staff I've met over the last 20 months of Dad's care have been kind, both to us as a family, and to Dad. You just get used to somebody, and they are gone. On a recent visit, there was only one member, plus one that had been called in on duty, no senior, and those two had been asked to work a straight 18 hours, through the night. During the visit, which usually lasts an hour, other staff did appear. Higher management need to address this, and improve the levels of staff to take the pressure of the others, and give the residents the care they need and deserve.
Rutland Care Village staff in the Belvoir suite have been outstanding in the care of my Grandmother in her final days with us. Treating the patient with respect allowing her to have dignity as you would want for a loved one. With 24 hour access and welcoming staff at any time of the day or night, the family are also cared for with the utmost respect whilst visiting. Thanks to everyone at Rutland Care Village, you have been great.
My mother was in Quorn Grange for about 5 months. She is a very physically disabled lady. Overall the personal care was good the room was pleasant but there were basic things that did not happen. Quorn Grange has a big lounge but the seating is unsuitable and there was no encouragement from the staff to sit in there or to use the garden. The activities were all in a different part of the home and there was no encouragement for Mum to go there. She became confined to her room with no entertainment. I have since moved her to a home that is the same price but she is much better cared for with food choices and outings and activities.
My sister was a resident of Rutland Care Village between 19/2/13 and her sad passing on 31/12/17, having suffered a very major stroke on 19/11/2012. Sadly, she made little recovery in those five long years. Her capacity was severely impaired, she had lost her speech, and only had use of her left hand. All her needs and preferences, therefore, had to be anticipated, and all movement assisted by staff. Throughout my sisters time at Rutland Care Village, all staff and management so happily and willingly showed the very highest standards of care, expertise, patience and friendship for her at all times. Before my sister was admitted to Rutland Care village, I visited a number of other care homes, and Rutland Care Village without question offered by far the highest standard of facilities, care, and management that I encountered.
My father passed away in the Rutland Care Village in September 2017. After a stay in Peterborough Hospital it was determined he could no longer be cared for at home (he had pancreatic cancer). The staff were not only competent, they were extremely caring, patient and kind to both my father and to the family.
