View Full Details of Knights' Grove Care HomeMy dad has been in this home for about 8 years. He has Lewy Bodies dementia and we did not expect him to still be with us after this length of time. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Knights' Grove Care Home, not only are we lucky enough to still have him in our lives but he is in wonderful health despite the dementia and is very happy. We can never thank the staff enough for their dutiful and caring work. Thank you.
My mother was a resident at Knights Grove for 4 years until she died in October. She was admitted during covid so we didn't have a choice in care home. We all agreed once the Covid restrictions were lifted that we didn't want to move her closer to home. My mother had advanced dementia, and the care she received was excellent at all times. The staff were kind, caring, compassionate, and also sensitive to us as a family. Thank you to all the staff involved in her care, you are all amazing.
My son was moved to Knight's Grove from a care home in Wales earlier this year and the change in him is amazing! He is much happier and more settled than I could have hoped. His room is comfortable and clean, (despite his clutter, he's his mother's son!) He is surrounded by familiar things and really feels at home. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who look after him and all the other residents, always cheerful and friendly! You do them all proud!
From first contacting one staff, then being looked after by another, this experience has exceeded my expectations. Organising my mum's care from abroad was a task made so much simpler by the care and attention of all at Knight's Grove. From landing in the UK on Thursday, paperwork and introduction on Friday to Mum's stay starting on Monday, the move was seamless. I cannot thank the staff enough for their attention to detail and to the care of my mum. Mum, is so happy, she settled in straight away with the care, love and attention she received from everyone, the meals are amazing and she especially loves the homemade cakes and biscuits! They have live music performers and all the residents enjoy a varied activities calendar. As a personal note, it was my birthday on my mum's second day, the staff organised a birthday cake, a special tea, and a card from my mum, truly thoughtful and brought me to tears as my mum was so happy at this. It is this thought of detail that makes this care home stand above others.
My wife has Alzheimer's disease and I have been her carer at home for the last four years. Over the last six months, her condition has greatly deteriorated and I am now not able to give her adequate care. Residential care homes would not accept her because of her lack of mobility. I contacted and visited Knights Grove and was impressed by the cleanliness, lightness, and friendliness of the home and the efficiency of the staff. My wife moved in and has been well looked after and is comfortable and safe. This has taken the worry and strain from my life and I am now able to visit her as her husband, not her carer. They are well equipped and trained to deal with dementia patients and I recommend them. Thank you, KG.
After a very poor experience in a care home in Chandlers Ford, a subsequent stay in hospital in Winchester, my brother and I moved our elderly sister who has dementia, to Knights Grove. After a week, we knew she was in good hands. The rooms are spacious and modern and the staff are all dementia-trained. Even more importantly, they are genuinely caring. We visit her on a regular basis but know she is well cared for when we are away. Thank you KG.
I was very worried about moving my father to a new care home, I was concerned he would be unsettled and confused. The whole team put us at ease before the move and were genuinely looking forward to welcoming him with open arms. Since my father has moved, he has gone from strength to strength. He is so much happier, involves himself in every activity and above all else looks so much healthier. Dad's personal space has been made very comfortable for him, with all his belongings and personal touches he feels very at home. The home is always very flexible with how we can make changes and work together for Dad's comfort. The staff are all angels, they are so accommodating and work so hard for all of their resident's care. They are not just support for the residents but go the extra mile to support the family too. I get lost for words of how much I am grateful for the team. Just thank you, Knights Grove, you have made a difference that I never thought was possible.
I was very worried that my sister would not settle in a care home, but today. She said, "I am happy here, everyone is nice and looking after me so well." I also give my thanks to everyone at Knights' Grove for making her welcome.
Knights' Grove Care Home has been excellent at keeping me informed and included with regard to all aspects of my husband's care. He has resided here for over four years and I have been welcomed and supported, as a family member, throughout this journey. I would like to add, the carers are outstanding. I would recommend Knights' Grove to any person facing and dealing with dementia. Thank you Knights' Grove.
My father moved into Knights' Grove Care Home the end of October 2023, he had previously been a resident in another nursing home but they were unable to cope with his dementia, despite saying they could. The home provides specialist care for residents with dementia. From our first visit to the home, we knew it was right for Dad. It is a modern, purpose-built home with nice, light rooms in a quiet location. The staff are all absolutely amazing, so caring, patient and understanding of the needs and care of the resident. I would thoroughly recommend Knights' Grove Care Home if you are looking for residential dementia care for your loved one.
My overall experience is very pleasing. I'm happy with the staff and the care being given.
I recently made the incredibly difficult decision to move Dad into a care home and Knights Grove has given me so much support in the process with their kindness, compassion and professionalism. Since Dad has been living there, I have witnessed their care first-hand. The staff are wonderful and really put Dad's needs first with their compassion and patience. I trust them completely to do right by Dad and also his family. I am so grateful to everyone there, especially the home’s manager who helped me through a really emotional time. The home itself is well-maintained and spotless and Dad's room is wonderful. I would recommend the care home to families whose loved ones need specialist dementia support. They are experts and demonstrate that at every level.
My husband has been a resident at Knights' Grove for the last twenty months. Although the first few months were very challenging my husband is now settled. The manager and staff have always shown him great kindness, understanding and have always been very patient with him. He loves them all, I am sure there would not be a better nursing home for him and I will be eternally grateful to everyone who has helped look after him.
My mum has been at Knights Grove since February, it was a very difficult decision to put her in a care home but Knights Grove has been amazing. It really does feel like a family there, all the staff are so caring and look after her and the other residents so well. There are always lots of activities for Mum to join in with, entertainment, parties and singalongs and the food is excellent. We are always as a family made to feel very welcome when we visit and it is a pleasure to visit mum in such a caring environment. Any concerns regarding mum are immediately communicated to me and we work as a team to resolve any issues she might be having. Although mum has dementia she tells me regularly that she is well looked after and has thanked the staff herself for their care which is a testament to all the staff at Knights Grove.
Our mother resided in Knights' Grove for seven years, during which time she was assisted through her dementia journey. At each stage staff showed great care, empathy and compassion, subtly changing the way they provided support and care as her condition slowly deteriorated. In early September, it seemed she was starting to slip away. The staff showed their customary compassion, ensuring that she was comfortable and warm, and that although she was unable to appreciate her surroundings or respond, she was seldom alone for any length of time. We have always been fully appraised of her situation; in her final stages we were there most of the time. While caring for Mum, the staff also provided great support for us, ensuring that we required nothing, including drinks and food when we stayed overnight. The staff managed Mum’s passing with sympathy and empathy, providing comfort for the whole family. We could not have wished for better surroundings or people with whom Mum spent her final days.
Dad spent the last eighteen months of his life at Knights' Grove Care Home. He was looked after beautifully with care, respect, dignity and love. My family and I couldn't have wished for kinder people to look after him. He was always clean, comfortable and content. We are forever grateful for the level of comfort Dad was in.
I cannot fault the care my mother and father receive from all staff, nurses, carers, cooks and housekeeping. The home is spotless and never smells. My parents could not be in a better environment.
The staff are excellent. Facilities are always clean and held to a high standard. Never have any concern over my gran's wellbeing. Staff are always on hand if there are any issues or concerns we have.
My husband was sent to Knights' Grove Care Home by the discharge team on 12th January 2023 for six weeks assessment. On entering Knights' Grove, my daughter and I had a lovely welcome (which put us at ease straight away). I can also say I am very happy with Knights' Grove, the staff, nurses, carers, chef and reception staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them, they are all very kind to my husband and patient.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Knights Grove for our mum. She came there from hospital bed-bound but, thanks to the devoted and compassionate staff at Knights Grove, is now able to walk with assistance and is generally in a very happy state of mind. The staff always find time to stop and chat to her and nothing is too much trouble for them. It has taken a lot of anxiety away from us knowing that she is receiving such excellent care, both in her personal hygiene and partaking in the various activities offered. We also know that there is always somebody to talk to if we are at all concerned about mum’s welfare. Thank you.
