Nice, caring staff. My nanna is fed well and seems happy in herself.
My Dad has settled in brilliantly, coming up to almost twelve months since he moved in. It's a huge relief for me knowing my Dads needs are being met. He is happy which is clear for me to see through him showing his funny personality and he has bonded well with staff, particularly the deputy managers.
Good carings
My time here has been a happy one. The staff are hard working and very friendly which makes the difference.
Rastrick Hall and Grange meet all the needs of my Grandma who has advanced dementia. It is approaching the 2 year mark of my Grandma being in the care home and I visit on a weekly basis. Over this time period the carers and nurses have developed a relationship with my grandma, they are able to explain what they are going to do e.g personal care. The explanations help to keep my grandma calm. On some occasions I have arrived whilst the carers are completing some personal care and I've heard them signing from the corridor, again singing and music helps to keep my grandma calm and happy during her personal care. I feel comfortable approaching staff with any concerns I may have and trust they will be dealt with in a satisfactory manner. I feel having a clear route of communication with staff is important as my grandma is unable to raise or express concerns herself. Overall I'm pleased with the care Rastrick Hall and Grange provide.
I have had some concerns about mums dress and feel that i was able and did put things in place with management support to resolve this issue ,i have always suppled clothes shoes and monies for mums personal care from mums money , Mum says she is loved and enjoys her meals which is reassuring , even with the her complex needs she seems content and happy in her surroundings , i have seen improvements in the home over the last few months which have been very noticeable.
The resident team and regular bank staff are great with Gran, she is calm and relaxed with all of the team. They will put in the TV, or music to ensure Gran has something to listen to. The team are all very warm and friendly and extremely approachable. If we have questions we never feel we are a bother. The team ensure high standards of care at all times. It is a shame we can not mention individual carers as the team really do go out of their way to ensure Gran is well cared for.
We have been very pleased with the care and service provided. The staff are always approachable, friendly, and willing to assist with any queries we may have, fostering a positive and open relationship. They demonstrate great patience and compassion in their interactions with our resident, ensuring they feel comfortable and well-supported. Additionally, the rooms are cleaned regularly to a high standard, maintaining a fresh and welcoming environment. We truly appreciate the dedication of the team and the excellent care they provide.
Under new management I believe the home is starting to see results. We are all quick to criticise but not praise. It's not an easy job for management or staff but I am seeing progress. Keep up the good work!
The home provides a safe, warm and comfortable environment for mum. Staff have a friendly rapport with mum and they understand mum's health issues, her personal care/support needs and social preferences. They show mum kindness and treat her with respect.
Good to see the care home picking up keep up the good work everyone.
Both myself and our four sons agree that we are very satisfied with the care and treatment of my wife and their mothers. She is treated with dignity and understanding.
Happy.
This was the first time we had used Rastrick Hall and Grange Care Home but Dad settled in immediately! Dad has late Alzheimer's with complex needs although he is hyperactive, always on the go with significant sundowning. The staff were lovely and on collecting him it was obvious the working relationship and affection between them. He was kept engaged most of the day, and they took him out for walks and a trip to Brighouse. We were made aware that there is a relatively new manager and it appears to be a well-run care home. This new manager is lovely, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. The staff and other residents we met appeared to be happy, content and well cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending and using Rastrick Hall and Grange for all his respite needs. In fact, we have just booked his next little holiday.
The care my dad received was very good. He was very confused and upset at times. The carers, and deputy manager, were very patient with him and did all they could to make him comfortable, particularly at the end of his life when he was receiving end-of-life care for a week. My mum was always made to feel welcome as she visited Dad every day during his four-month stay. The kindness shown to her was also extended to the rest of the family during what was a difficult time. I would like to thank the staff.
My husband was a resident for over 2 years when it was owned by another provider. He was very happy and contented for at least a year, then with the constant changing of managers the treatment and care went down significantly, and on several occasions, we found him in very unhappy situations which gave me and my family a lot of upsetting concerns. Just recently our concerns were confirmed when for no apparent reason he was sent to the hospital. From the information that we were able to gather this was a way of means to remove him as a resident from the home, this was confirmed when the home refused to have him back. That caused a dilemma of having to find another home. This has now been achieved and he's now at another home. We as a family are delighted that he is out of the Grange. The carers were great but even they're not that happy with the conditions that are evident with the running of the home.
My dad moved into Rastrick Hall and Grange in August 2023. The care he received was very good - the staff were very caring and kind. He was well looked after, and the food was of a good standard. Dad went into end-of-life care at the end of November and has now unfortunately passed away. However, the care and kindness he and all his family received in his final days from all the staff was way above our expectations and above and beyond what they needed to do to fulfil the requirement of "doing their job". For this, we give them our heartfelt thanks and best wishes.
