View Full Details of Domnall Intermediate Care CentreMy mum is currently being looked after here. The care staff are amazing. You can certainly tell they love their work. So kind and attentive. My mum is eating all in front of her and loves all her dinners. As a nurse myself, it is very reassuring to know she is in good hands. Thank you all.
My mother has been a resident for approximately two months and during that time, found the level of care to be exemplary. What stood out as the greatest positive was the staff on all levels. Their care and kindness went far beyond their duty, their genuine warmth, respect and attention to detail meant that it was a pleasure to meet such amazing souls. We will truly miss them all. Excellent.
I had a great time, even through the pain. Would recommend to anyone.
l have been resting here since mid-November till the 6th of December, going home now, well recovered and must state that everything was excellent, particularly the cooking. The food was very good and very tasty thank goodness as I was resting for more than three weeks.
When leaving hospital I was treated with care and patience and was gradually brought back to being independent in daily routine matters.
I have been a resident in Domnall Care Home for the past six weeks due to a fractured tibia necessitating a full leg cast. I cannot comment on value for money as I am an NHS patient. To the best of my knowledge, there has been on bingo session while I have been here, at a time when I had a hospital appointment. I am not aware of any other activities.
My time here now includes the entire, ongoing Covid pandemic so far, which has adversely affected so many people and curtailed so much. To me, Domnall Care Home has coped with and dealt with most of the extreme pressures so well, which is a credit to all concerned. Many members of staff have been working here for many years, and their experience and vocation show that - while others who have joined recently have worked so hard in such difficult circumstances. The food and snacks - where there are always choices - is really good and the kitchen staff always do their best to meet reasonable requests. Care homes can have issues with lingering stale and unpleasant odours - I have never experienced that here, any faults are quickly resolved. It is very clean. There is a caring attitude where it matters, and staff would rather hear if anything can be improved, and usually is. I'd have been lost without the quiet care and support of Domnall and its people, and appreciate all concerned so much.
I was so happy I stayed in a lovely place.
The experience was excellent. This was my second visit to Domnall and I would recommend it to anyone needing care.
All at Domnall provided excellent support for my mum during her stay. Management/employees at all levels were pleasant and accommodating - helping mum to feel settled and make a good recovery.
Disappointed by efforts of the Physiotherapy Fracture Department. More information medically could be passed on. Care staff and chef could not be faulted.
I am very grateful for the great care all the staff of Domnall gave to my mother. They treated her with kindness, dignity and respect. They helped me with keeping up to speed with her covid tests etc and giving me moral support. They were very professional and kind with the covid restrictions. I hated not being able to be in much contact with my mother and that definitely had an effect on her health, but that's in no fault of Domnall.
Very positive and supportive experience. Staff were friendly and caring. They were professional and respected my dignity at all times. I was allowed to choose clothes on a daily basis and the activities I participated in. Personal choice extended to going to bed when I was ready. Routines were maintained re mealtimes and there was good continuity of care across all staff teams.
Care assistants very good. Food very good. If anything on the menu I did not like, Chef would work with me and other residents to cook something I and others liked. I'm very grateful for his services. Excellent. Cleaning was very average, not great. Regarding bed changing, not great. Bed linen poor. Head staff, poor interaction with residents. Social worker, disaster. Met him once in the 14 weeks I spent in Domnall. To me, he was a waste of time and space.
Commenting on my stay there, roughly 8 months, would just like to thank all staff for being totally professional, but also could have a laugh and a joke with you which helped me especially when having to stay there over the Christmas period. I got to know the staff, male and female and felt at ease talking to them about anything. Would like to wish everyone all the best.
What an excellent team! From admission to discharge, I was treated, at all times, with respect, courtesy and total professionalism from all the staff. My recovery at Domnall Care Home was all the more swift due to all support from every member of the Domnall team.
My mum spent a good few months in Domnall and I have to say it was a home from home. The staff are very friendly and attentive with nothing being any trouble at all. The facilities were also fantastic and along with the gym, got my mum back on her feet and walking again.
As a professional nurse, this must be one of the worst care homes. Staff not care centred. Total lack of interaction with family. My father closed his room door and barely had any staff enter the room. Thankfully my father was there for respite care. We could not wait to get him out of it.
Excellent care was given to my mother on 2 occasions following a hip replacement. Warm and friendly staff and great rehab facilities.
Very good pharmacy, physio and care assistants and doctors. I have one point of concern my mother was admitted to Domnall Care Home on 19th January 2018. The hospital that did hip surgery sent 56 days of supply of medication with the ambulance taking her to Domnall Care Home two days later the doctor changed her medication took her off her sleeping tablet and fluid tablet. My mother never got any sleep until Monday 22nd January. There is only a doctor on call service at weekends and they could not help my mother
