View Full Details of North Bay HouseMy father has been living at North Bay for 5 months now and I cannot commend the home highly enough. It's not an easy thing to find yourself needing to choose a care home for your parent, but right from our initial approach, their prompt assessment of dad and welcoming attitude has made the whole process so easy. Dad was at a very low ebb when he came to the home and everyone has done their very best to make him feel at home and settled. He is well cared for and treated with compassion and dignity. Most importantly dad seems happy to be there. I have been struck by the warm family feel to North Bay. However, the best thing about North Bay is their wonderful staff. It is obvious that everyone, from management, nursing staff or care assistants really care about their residents. I should also say that I am really grateful for the support the home has offered me, from practical advice, training opportunities and sometimes just for somewhere to cry and be told you are doing ok, too!
What can I say - from my first telephone call to now, I have had excellent rapport with the management and staff. Everyone is so caring and friendly. The care and attention my mother is receiving is second to none. Absolutely brilliant. I cannot praise North Bay House enough, their dedication to looking after their residents cannot be faulted. They treat everyone (myself included) with love, dignity and respect. I am pleased I chose North Bay House for my mother to spend her later years.
Mother and Father-in-law moved into a double room at North Bay earlier this year. We could not be happier with the care they have received. Excellent home, fantastic staff, all second to none. The manager and her team could not have been kinder. Amazing care home in a stunning location, overlooking the Norfolk Broads.
Enormous pressure and worry have been taken off our family. It has been a difficult decision to put Mum into care. The staff are all very warm, welcoming, considerate and very communicative. Mum is very well looked after and happy. The staff also seem happy and always go the extra mile for us. Thank you.
After the previous experience of another care home which caused us as a family so much stress and heartache about my father's care, the truth is we were going in and caring for him. We are so thankful to have found such professional overall care for my father. We have been relieved of so much anxiety ourselves. A beautiful family environment, full of love at North Bay House.
Always welcomed by name when visiting. Everyone knows the family as well as the person they care for. My mother is always clean, well-dressed and tidy. Her needs are always met as they change with her ageing. Permission is sought for changes to her care. My mother is very happy at the care home.
Everyone is so kind and helpful so my husband settled very quickly.
Although this is not something that others might think appropriate to put on this forum, I feel that it is a very important aspect of their caring role and as such it deserves recognition. I must compliment the team at North Bay for their exemplary care of my mother in the run-up to and at the end of her stay with them. Their seamless links with the local hospital to facilitate her discharge back to their care, their timely liaisons with the Community Nursing team for Mum's palliative care needs, the love and care offered to both my Mum and also to us as we sat with her, 24/7, is something for which we will be forever grateful. The team made her last years joyful and her last days peaceful. We could not have asked for more. Thank you.
Lovely care home with beautiful grounds and gardens. The staff are friendly and caring and look after my grandad well. The food served is homemade and always looks and smells amazing! We would definitely recommend this care home. The management team have been so patient and accommodating during a difficult time within the family and has always been there to provide us with support and guidance.
Such a lovely home. They have made Dad so welcome and settled in really well. Dad has fantastic care and is so well looked after. All the staff are so lovely and caring. Everyone is really friendly. I can relax now I know Dad is receiving the best care possible.
North Bay House offers a lovely, gentle home-from-home environment with friendly and caring staff and none of the enforced 'jolliness' you can find elsewhere. My mother-in-law lived in this family-run home for 6 years and was happy to be in their care. Thank you.
Wonderful care home with excellent staff. Everyone was so thoughtful and helpful. All that I wanted was not too much trouble. I can’t praise this home enough and the wonderful care I received. The food was excellent and they have trips out in their minibus to various places within Lowestoft and beyond. There is a lovely activity coordinator who asks me on arrival which activities I enjoy. We did art with a company that came in and assisted us.
Caring environment, making Mum feel safe and cared for. Very comfortable and cosy environment. Very good food and lots of variety with tea, cake and biscuits in abundance (according to Mum). Lovely and caring staff. Helpful, accommodating, clean and well looked after home. Lovely gardens. Trips out and craftwork for residents, Mum likes these. Lots of patience from the staff and very helpful.
North Bay have always been an excellent care provider for my mum. She has been a resident for a few years and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are lovely and caring. During the last year, I have always been informed about mum's provision of care with no problems. Highly recommend.
As a profoundly deaf visitor at my Mother-in-law’s 100th birthday, I was happy to comply with the safeguarding regulations and thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. The staff provided a lovely area for our visit and equipment for us to use if we wanted. I was just happy we were able to have this time with her on this special occasion.
I have always found the management and staff to be very competent. My mother has always been well cared for and is very happy here. We also visited my mother on her 100th birthday, and what a lovely half hour we spent with her. She was absolutely radiant. The room was booked between 2:00 pm and 3.30 pm which was plenty of time for two families to visit without tiring the birthday girl too much. We all agreed to wear PPE to keep mother and the staff safe. My husband is also deaf, but they provided visors if we wanted to use them. Notices about cctv were in place and there were no hidden cameras. I feel there are always two sides to a story and North Bay house have done a wonderful job in very difficult times. My family could not have had a better experience of that day. So thank you all.
Very safe and affectionate.
My mum has resided here Since December 2019, and the whole of her stay here has been marvellous. Things could not have been more difficult for the team here, but they are always happy, caring and brilliant at keeping the family aware of everything that is happening. My mum is safe, well and no one could ask for more. The home is clean, welcoming and as cared for as the residents. I have complete faith in all their decisions and can't thank them enough.
North Bay House scores top marks in all areas. A beautiful setting overlooking the broad. Excellent facilities and the most dedicated and professional staff. My mother has been a resident for over five years and has received the best care and understanding of her condition, this support extends to family members - any concerns are sensitively addressed and suggestions welcomed. There is always a friendly greeting whether contact is made by phone or in-person - regular newsletters and relatives meetings keep us informed.
My mother went into the home in February recovering from a broken hip, in her 90's. They have got her eating and walking again and happy.
