View Full Details of Howard Court Care Home LtdMy father-in-law is cared for here and right from the start felt it was his home He loves the meals and also his room which is on suite, he values his privacy and this is always respected. He recently has been ill and the staff have taken care of him and made sure he had received GP and a brief spell in hospital as an inpatient. He told me he was very happy to be back HOME when out of hospital One day I arrived to see him sat in the courtyard having a cool drink and a chat with other residents. Myself and my husband are relieved we found a place he is happy and content. The Staff always make us feel welcome on visits. We had previously visited care homes and this was not the case. Finding this place and so local to our community was a relief Thankyou
This home does not have a garden. It has a small courtyard (about 15' x 15') in front, with a couple of seats and some plants in, but this is not freely accessible as the building is locked. My friend became very depressed as she would spend a lot of time in her garden previously. Her bedroom was dark with a window above eye level and no view apart from up to other's bedrooms. This room should not be used as a bedroom. The meals which I saw were small, some parts appeared to be from a packet or frozen, eg the mash or vegetables. The teatime meal, at 5 pm, was regularly only a 'Cream cheese sandwich',- these had little filling, and no garnish of any sort. It appeared the least possible amount of money was spent on food; my friend visibly failed to thrive. For recreation, there was only the lounge/dining area. For £500 per person per week, much more could be expected. This home is outdated and in not having a garden, fails to meet the basic human need for exercise and/or fresh air.
