View Full Details of The Manor HouseMy first visit to my sister since she arrived at The Manor House, and I was so pleased to see how she has relaxed after her stay in hospital, and how that (relaxation)seems to have improved her Parkinson symptoms. Emily and her staff and family display a Christian attitude towards care, and are dedicated to proactively improving the lives, and health of residents. Oh, and what lovely surroundings to live in! Thanks for sharing your home.
I spent a very happy two weeks at The Manor House. Every care was taken to ensure I was safe and comfortable. The Manor House was warm and there was a lovely family feel. It was great seeing the owners lovely children around. The management took me on outings and to church, which was very much appreciated.
Finding 'The Manor' through the recommendation of a close family friend was an absolute 'Godsend' for not only my parents but myself. Living in Tasmania, but having returned for a number of extended visits, I spent significant time there and was often warmly invited to join them all for delicious home-cooked meals; observing first-hand the running of this truly wonderful care home and it feels like a home! I had absolute peace of mind that Mum and Dad were receiving genuinely kind and timely care in response to their needs and that they were well-supported, valued and respected by each staff member with whom they came into contact. Communication was consistently clear and responsive and both Dad and Mum were actively supported and encouraged in accessing social opportunities, as well as in attending medical appointments. A wonderful, inclusive family environment is nurtured, and each team member cared for my parents as though they were their own. The Manor is uniquely special.
There aren’t enough words to praise The Manor House highly enough but this review only allows 1000 words! It’s a home-from-home in every sense. Moving Mum to a care home was an awful prospect but The Manor made it easy. The family are always on-site and run it fantastically with fabulous carers. Beautiful country location, warm cosy ensuite room, homemade cooking, everyone caringly looked after, nothing too much trouble. The Manor easily found solutions to all the things we worried might be problems. The family involve everyone in village life such as coffee mornings and church services. I rang mum every day on her own phone line and she always told me how happy she was there. I visited regularly and was always warmly welcomed. When Mum became terminally ill The Manor did everything to make Mum’s final days the best they could be. The care throughout Mum’s time at The Manor was beyond exceptional. I give it an Excellent++ rating.
My wonderful parents, although needing more care than was available in their own home, were very reluctant to move. A stressful time ensued for our family - and we could never have imagined finding a more perfect place for them than this. They moved together and having a delightful suite of rooms with beautiful views out onto the garden and beyond, and a double bed were assets we only dreamed of finding in a Care Home. The owners, and staff, went out of their way to make it feel like their home and it's impossible to overstate the great kindness shown by everyone. As their needs increased, every effort was made to accommodate them. Communication with the owner and staff was consistently excellent. We were able to visit often, and there was never any doubt in my mind that the loving care they received was exemplary.
My mother has been a resident at The Manor House for 3 and a half years and is very happy there. She very much enjoys it being organised like a real home, which of course it is, with 3 generations of the owners family living at The Manor House, and involved in supporting the residents. The Manor House is set in beautiful surroundings which are lovely, and which you can see for yourself, but the most important thing is being treated as part of their extended family by the owner and her family and all the staff. I can't praise them enough. My mum could still drive until quite recently, and loss of this independence has been much eased by trips to North Petherton nearby, and excursions to the local garden centre and nearby gardens and tea shops.
My Mother was resident at The Manor House for five years, from the time she moved out of her house until she passed away. I can only thank The Manor House for making the last five years of her life so wonderful and happy. It was like a home from home for her and, indeed, in a very short space of time, she regarded it as her home. The care, the surroundings, the atmosphere and the personal attention - and love - were simply the best. Before Mother moved in, she had been in a couple of other places for a short time but The Manor House was in a league of its own, in every area. When she needed more help, more was always given, and always so willingly. Every carer (and the owners) treated my Mother as though she was their own Mother. You cannot ask for more than that.
Four years ago I was welcomed here and everything has been done to make this my home where I feel cared for and secure. In my room I have been able to import many personal items eg desk, carpets which adds to the sense that this is 'my home' and not an institution.
