View Full Details of Grange Cottage Residential Care HomeThe Grange Cottage is a delightful, homely and caring environment and one which was ideal for my Mum as she faced the challenges of dementia. The staff are exceptional and showed great professionalism in the way they looked after her which made our whole family feel they had Mum's best interests at heart. It's a small care facility, the building feels like a lived in home and the staff therefore have the opportunity to properly connect both with those in their care and their family and friends. Dementia is a difficult illness to endure and I thought the staff helped our family navigate the stages of Mum's illness as much as they helped Mum to do the same. The facilities are good, and seem focussed on making it a home from home for our Mum and she settled there relatively peacefully as a result. Mum passed away at the end of 2024 and we hold the greatest respect for the staff at Grange Cottage for the care and dignity they showed her throughout.
Grange Cottage, a home from home. Genuinely a wonderful place full of so much love, warmth, caring and staff that go above and beyond. My dad was an amazing man, and deserved the best, and he got it in heaps. I never once had to worry about him, because he was so comfortable there and to him, it was just an extension of his family. The end-of-life care was second to none and they made the difficult time easier for us both. Excellent. Also I must mention the care that was shown to me at the end of his life was amazing. This has helped me so much as I move forward. If you are looking for genuine care for your loved one, where you will be respected and treated as a family member, then this is the place to be.
I’m a retired senior detective with experience in residential care homes in my professional life. I cannot speak too highly of this place. The owner and her staff are, quite simply, modern-day Florence Nightingale's. I am moved to tears every time I think of the compassion and care they showed to my elderly father, who I adored all my life. He was reluctant to go into a care home and, in order to comply with his wishes, we left it rather late. When I was struggling to care for him myself, I took him to see the owner and the home. She went down on her knees to him and spoke with such compassion and patience that we both instinctively knew this was the place for him to be to receive the best possible loving care in the final days of his life. The owner and her staff didn’t just care for my dad at the most demanding and challenging time of his life. They took care of me too because they knew I was struggling to cope. Forever grateful to these exceptional people. Thank you so much.
Having viewed and experienced several care homes, I was in despair until I moved my partner, who has vascular dementia, to Grange Cottage. Most homes claim to treat people with dignity and respect. This is, sadly, far from the truth, but I can truly say that here there is genuine affection for residents who are valued for who they are and were. Dementia issues are considered as minor problems to be solved for residents, never with impatience or reproach. All staff, led by an inspired, loving and compassionate hands-on owner, seem to regard relatives as their own extended family and treat them as such.
