View Full Details of New Copford Place Residential Care HomeI met some nice people there. I helped to make a Christmas cake. It was nice to share meals with other people. Slept very well. My relatives were able to come and visit me. It was lovely and warm in the home. Saw squirrels out of the window. I had my nails and hair done and that was a nice experience. I would like to stay again when my daughter goes on holiday.
My mother recently spent three weeks respite in New Copford Place. My brother and I were very impressed by the warm welcome we received from the moment we made contact by phone. The home has a calm atmosphere with light, spacious areas for relaxing and taking part in activities. The dining room is delightful with fresh flowers on each table. The staff were all professional, friendly and helpful. Although my mother decided not to stay (she wasn't ready) we would not hesitate in choosing New Copford Place for her to stay permanently.
What a find! We needed some respite care for our Mum and found the care welcome, cheerfulness and cleanliness incredible. Always a smile and a can-do attitude. Mum was sorry to leave as she had become very fond of everyone- staff and residents. Mum's TV never worked well but that is our only negative. Thank you New Copford Place for being there when we and Mum needed you. Our thanks to everyone, especially the budgie!
You invited us to look around, we had a wonderful lunch and Dad really felt at home, everywhere was clean and fresh and the staff was very friendly. The decision to book was easy! From day 1 Dad enjoyed that everyone called him by his first name. During his stay, we spoke with him frequently and family members visited - he said he was being well looked after, had good food, friendly helpful staff, with a real 'homely' feel. Everyone commented on how clean and fresh the home was. His own room was great with a nice bathroom and comfortable bed. There were no issues with taking him out temporarily during the day for family visits and he certainly enjoyed his 'wee dram' in the evenings. He really enjoyed being able to sit in the courtyard on sunny days. He said it was nice to be able to walk in the gardens and nice having a mix of TV and quiet rooms. Should the need arise in the future, there will be no need to look around. New Copford Place will be our immediate, preferred first choice. Thank you and well done all.
My dad has Alzheimer's and had two weeks of respite care while I went away. He was well cared for and seemed much better for having company all the time. I was pleased with his respite care there so moved Dad in there permanently. He has been there for two months and I'm so glad. Again he is well cared for by lovely staff. He has joined in with activities and has been out and about on trips. He does have days where due to his dementia he doesn't understand why he is there but staff give lots of reassurance to him and I can clearly see how much they care for him and all their residents. All staff are lovely; they keep me well informed and as a family, we are always welcomed in with a smile and friendly chat. On a personal level, I have found the support from everybody to be fantastic; it can be hard to see someone with Alzheimer's and upsetting at times, but everybody has been so kind and supported me as well. I personally cannot recommend this care home enough.
The care staff are warm, kind, hardworking and knowledgeable and give excellent care to the residents while promoting a homely, safe place with a good atmosphere. The night staff are particularly excellent unlike in many other homes where they seem to be the “B” team. All the other staff’s eg handyman, laundry man, kitchen, office, activity lead, management team and cleaning staff, contribution is also excellent. There is a real partnership working with my family which has grown over the 6 months my mother has been a resident. The care home has lovely grounds and the residents’ rooms have Patio doors to them which is a very welcome feature. The care home makes a huge effort to help ground the residents in the present by making excellent seasonal displays and having celebrations. I am so glad we have found this place for our much loved Mum!
Satisfied with the care provided. The staff are attentive and treat residents with respect and dignity. The rooms are a little small, but the overall look and feel of the home generally is comfortable and welcoming.
I was completely satisfied with my experience getting respite care for my mum in New Copford Place. The home is clean and well-maintained with an excellent layout round a courtyard with small lounges and lots of light which makes it a delightful building to visit. All the staff, including the manager, cannot be faulted for the kindness and care they show towards the residents, and the whole atmosphere in the place is friendly and welcoming. They were so good with my mum and I would definitely recommend this home.
The staff are very friendly and know the residents well. Activities are improving due to the recent appointment of a coordinator. Overall, it is a lovely care home.
Staff at New Copford Place have always been supportive of our family and friends. They appear to act quickly to resolve any issues and are happy to work with families for the best outcome for the residents. The new activities coordinator has, in my opinion, improved social activities. Unfortunately, the chef had left, so the food served wasn't as good, but a new chef is now in post, and this has improved again. The rooms are relatively small, but they are comfortable and can be personalised with the resident's own furniture, etc. Overall, we feel residents are treated with care and as individuals. We would recommend New Copford Place for short-stay or long-term residency.
Having no experience of care homes, I am really pleased that we chose New Copford Place to look after my aunt. The staff are friendly, caring and approachable. Any concerns I may have are discussed and resolved quickly with a smile. My aunt, who is new to the care home, seems settled and happy already. She is well looked after and enjoys the meals. Her room is kept tidy and clean. The new activity manager is putting together an extensive activity plan and we receive weekly planners so that we can come along and join in too.
My dad appears very happy here. He is well cared for and looked after and the place is always clean. There were some minor maintenance problems with the boiler, however, I feel I can trust the staff always to ensure his safety and well-being. The staff are always kind and friendly when I visit.
After researching many local nursing homes, New Copford Place ranked at the top! In every way! The building itself is set in a beautiful country area. All of the residents’ rooms have French windows looking out to a wooded, pretty garden. It is a calming and inspiring view. The building is all ground floor, giving easy access to all rooms. The dining room, in particular, is like a restaurant with tablecloths, flowers and even menus, and the food is delicious! All of the rooms are beautiful: clean, warm and cosy. We were able to furnish my mother’s room with her own curtains, desk, large photo boards and books, which has made all the difference to her settling in. She is immensely proud of her room and calls it her home from home! I’ve saved the best ‘till last! The staff are wonderful! They are all efficient, friendly, welcoming, warm and happy! Nothing is too much trouble. The same can be said of the managers, who are at the helm and brilliantly running this beautiful residential home!
Staff are always very helpful and give my mother exceptional care. The staff are always cheerful and friendly. My mother has dementia; she is at New Copford Place as a permanent resident. She has an ensuite bedroom, which is bright and clean with a view of the garden. She's very happy there. All staff are so nice, from management to staff in the office and carers. My mum gets on really well with all the staff, and the staff are fond of her and know her. So nice to see. Very clean and well-managed home. After trying several other homes which did not work out too well, Copford Place was by far the best in every way. The staff work as a team, which means everything is running as it should.
I have nothing but praise for the team at New Copford Place and how they are so professional in all aspects of care for my mum. I now have complete peace of mind that Mum is being looked after and is in the best place. It is somewhat unfortunate that the last two activity coordinators have left, but the staff seem to work well to keep the residents active. I am always treated with kindness and courtesy when I visit, usually two to three times per week.
Mum was a resident of New Copford Place for more than 2 years. Not always an easy character, my Mum was always treated with patience and compassion, and a good sprinkling of humour, which really helped. The staff are fantastic and all contribute to the quality of care given, whether the cleaners or the managers. Following the relaxation of Covid restrictions the visiting was completely open; there are many places to sit and chat, their bedrooms, the gardens, one of the many lounges and the dining room. The staff were always very welcoming and caring of me, always a chat, and (if I timed it right) a cup of tea and cake. I always felt that Mum was safe, cared for and in the best place possible for her. Inevitably all things come to an end and Mum’s death was handled beautifully by the staff, I was there and they were fantastic in their presence and knowing when I was happy to be left alone with her too. I could not have asked for a better 2+ years for the last years of her life.
My Mum has been a resident at New Copford Place for the last three months. As a family, we knew nothing about care homes; we visited a few and knew they were not for our Mum. We stumbled upon New Copford Place by accident really, and we are so happy that we did. It is an amazing care home; we cannot speak highly enough of the staff, such kind and caring people. A lovely friendly atmosphere and our Mum is absolutely thriving there!
The food lacked variety, the towels were too thin and there were ants. I was reluctant to have respite care before, now I would consider doing it again to give my wife time off.
I was pleased to find a nice place which was able to accommodate a single night of respite. Most have one or two weeks minimum.
My parents are both in their 90s and spent a week at New Copford Place for some respite care. They had a wonderful experience - the staff could not have been more caring and engaging, the food was great and the manager and his team continually went the extra mile to make their stay enjoyable and safe. This also allowed the rest of the family some respite as we could be confident that the home had everything covered. Fantastic.
