View Full Details of Fairhaven Lodge Residential Dementia Care HomeWe absolutely love Fairhaven Lodge! My granddad is so happy there, we never thought he would settle anywhere away from home but he settled in perfectly. The staff are amazing, they really treat everyone like they are just one big family. The activities are great too and everyone is so welcoming when we visit. I would absolutely recommend Fairhaven lodge to anyone looking for a home for their relatives.
Professional care - my mum from day one at Fairhaven Lodge. It's her 4th year. Enjoys activities. Outing along prom when able etc. Plus her own pretty bedroom. Secure care home. Bright. None slip floors. Able to ask questions to staff, in person or by phone. Keep family informed. Her own life book is completed and ongoing, and staff can relate to her. Photos, postcards, birthday cards etc. Music. She enjoys her food.
This team go above and beyond for their residents. They have had no Covid-19 within the home, that includes both residents and staff. Most staff lived in for ten weeks during this trying time. The staff are very approachable and helpful and easy to communicate with. I am so pleased that my mother-in-law has a place in this wonderful home. I would highly recommend this home to anybody who is looking for five-star care.
Visit on a weekly basis. Mum enjoys music activities and seems happy and settled. Not able to rate food and drink as I have not visited when meals are served, but Mum has commented that she enjoys her food.
I visit my mum weekly and happy with the care given. My mum is very happy at Fairhaven Lodge, and her behaviour shows she is content and feels safe in the environment.
The care managers have been in place for the last 17-years, which shows that they are dedicated to the care and wellbeing of the residents. As a result, they do not employ agency staff to cover for holidays/illness, but do the work themselves. The staff have a happy disposition and are caring and supportive of the residents, which leads to a friendly and comfortable environment. The lounges are large, airy and bright with individual chairs. There is some need of very minor decorative repairs required.
My Mum was admitted to Fairhaven in Sept 19 after moving to St Annes in July 19. Previously she had spent a year in a care home in Manchester and this was not a particularly pleasant experience for her or for my Dad and I. However, it did give us a baseline from which to judge Fairhaven. In my opinion, you would struggle to find a better (dementia) care home for your relative(s). From the staff at the top, through the cooks, senior staff and the carers they are consummately professional and, more importantly, take care of the residents as if they were their own relatives. I know this sounds too good to be true but I can testify that it is correct. Unfortunately, my Mum passed away 3/1/20. Their care extended to helping my Dad come to terms with the loss of his wife of 55-years and they also attended the funeral as a mark of respect to Mum and, in their, own way, to extend their care to her final resting place. Lovely place, lovely people - don't hesitate if they have beds.
I feel my father in law is treated with respect and care. He enjoys his meals and always looks clean and smart. My father in law has been there 7 months now, he settled in very quickly and seems happy in his own little world.
My father is only in his fourth day at this home but already we are pleased with all aspects of his care. I cannot rate the activities at the moment as it is early days and he has not taken part yet in any.
