Mum has been at Laburnam Grove for 2 years and she loves being there. She feels very safe and secure. The staff are brilliant and so hard working, nothing seems to be any trouble for them. They sort out all Mum's medication so l have no worries there anymore, I know she is taking it all on time. Mum goes to the dining room for lunch. Most of the meals she enjoys. The activities such as bingo and craft sessions she loves. They have not only helped make my Mum's life more comfortable but I feel better knowing there is always someone there for her. To all the staff, you are amazing. Thank you for everything you do.
Staff are friendly and professional and do all they can to support Dad’s needs. They keep me informed of any medical concerns and liaise with GP surgery and other health professionals directly. Activities are put on by staff and residents are encouraged to join in, but not pressured into participating. Respect for residents’ privacy and dignity is upheld at all times.
Wish we had known about Laburnum Grove years ago, mum is so happy here and since the carers have taken over doing her meds has not been poorly so often, we call them the angels ..the senior carers are absolutely amazing and make mum laugh and feel at ease which makes my job easy as I don't worry knowing she's in good hands.
Everyone that works in the home is brilliant and I wouldn't change them for the world. I am well looked after and they are very supportive. There are plenty of activities for tenants to join in if they want to. It is very easy to talk to the management (hierarchy) whenever you want
The home is great the support from the staff is fantastic and they take great care of the residents. The management team are a great help and always accessible when I have needed them. They also helped point me in the right direction when needing help and advice.
My sister still continues to enjoy the excellent facilities and high-quality care from all staff to meet her special needs. After her return because of the flooding last year, it took her a little while to settle back into the routines, but the staff were very patient with her and she is once again very happy in her accommodation. She enjoys the weekly activities and has made a good re-adjustment to her mobility issues with help and support from the friendly carers. I have always felt that we are fortunate to have such a perfect, safe, clean and supportive environment for my sister with very kind, dedicated, hardworking, and approachable staff. I could not ask for better in any respect.
Highly recommended. My Mum receives top-quality care and is encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible. Staff are quick to act when medical intervention is required and keep us fully informed of what is happening. It feels very homely and all the staff are friendly and warm towards the residents. The management is approachable and welcoming too. A very well-run place with excellent care. We are confident that Mum is happy, content, and well cared for. We totally trust that her needs are being met. Really can't praise them enough.
We are very lucky to have a care home of this quality in Thetford - something we became even more aware of recently when they had to close for a period due to flooding. Lovely self contained flats comprising of decent sized living room, kitchen, wet room and bedroom. They have some of the best staff/carers who are very friendly and patient. I know mum feels very settled there and we know she is well looked after.
After my mum had a TIA she came to stay with me due to not being able to navigate a two-story building any longer, I had heard wonderful things about Laburnum and I’m thankful I was able to secure mum a place after a very long fifteen months she moved in and has settled in really well, the staff work hard to make the place really feel like home and a big family, when the flood happen in July the staff were devastated that residents and staff were displaced for so long and a lot of effort to welcome them back was made with a little present for each resident and lots of hugs, such a shame there are not more facilities like this in East Anglia, I can’t wait to see what it will be like with no restrictions of covid!
I know that my mum is safe here and very well looked after, the staff are very nice and very helpful. I do not have a bad thing to say about this lovely place and would be very happy to live there myself when I'm older. I'm not really a review kind of person but will make an effort as Laburnam Grove really is that good.
For those of us that have reached an age, and through infirmity or disability, are no longer able to properly care for ourselves, then Laburnum Grove is a bit of a godsend. Each resident has their own flat, comprising lounge, kitchen, bedroom, and wet room, of a size that will come as a pleasant surprise to many, and each and everyone is encouraged to maintain the maximum amount of independence as allowed for by their condition/disability. As has been stated in previous reviews, staff, whether it be management or caring, are keen, conscientious, sympathetic, and caring. I myself have lived at Laburnum Grove for over 3 years and can find no fault with either the accommodation or level of care provided by the dedicated team in charge. As we all know, Thetford suffered a serious flood in this part of the town in July and residents had to be evacuated in a very short time, an operation that could hardly have gone smoother. The cheers upon our return said it all!
Always a friendly welcome when visiting but still remain very professional. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and always willing to go the extra mile mum always seems happy which obviously gives me peace of mind. A big thank you to all the staff.
Very professional team, they care about their service users 100%. Nothing is to much and always very helpful. The last few months have been very difficult for everyone. Laburnum was flooded during the storm’s and all service users we’re evacuated. Staff have been updating myself with emails and if either my partner or myself called they assisted as best as they could. Huge thumbs up.
My mother was a resident for 2 years at Laburnum Grove. She was very happy that although she was in her home with all her own things around her she was supported by the caring staff. She joined in with the many and varied activities and enjoyed the lunchtimes and teatimes shared communally with all her friends. Lockdown was hard but almost a year later everyone is safe and well. My mother became unwell in December 2020 and returned to Laburnum Grove on the end of life pathway I was then allowed to visit whenever I wanted. It was only then that I fully appreciated the kindness care and dignity that she was treated by the staff. She passed away in early February 2021. I cannot express the gratitude that I feel for all the staff and thank you seems so inadequate. At all times they were so compassionate and caring not just to my mother but also to me yet at all times totally professional. What a great team of people and I would have no hesitation in recommending Laburnum Grove to any family in similar circumstances.
Laburnum Grove has been a fantastic home for my mum over the last 2 years. The staff and management have been wonderful, caring, supportive, helpful and a real joy both to my mum and my family. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who needs it. I have enjoyed visiting and wish them all every success in the future.
In the period of my mother-in-law's residency, and especially during her last hours, The Laburnum Grove staff showed a high standard of professionalism, compassion and care. My wife's mother had health issues which the staff coped with admirably, given the rules that they had to adhere to - especially considering the fact that some had their own personal problems to contend with. My wife and I have nothing but the highest praise and admiration for this establishment and staff.
The first thing that I felt here was the honesty and security. My home is just a good size and a good design. It didn't take me very long to realise how good the staff is and always kind and willing. They also are very friendly amongst each other so the whole atmosphere is a good one. The food is good too. As I cannot live in a home on my own, I don't think I could have found anything better than Laburnum Grove! I have one disappointment that our food is not going to be cooked on the premises.
Yes, I am so happy living here. Everything is so perfect, well looked after and always have a good chat and a laugh and the staff are so helpful, no matter what you ask and there is always a lovely smile which makes me feel good. Laburnum is always so clean and tidy. I just don't know what else I can say but I am so grateful to be able to spend my time here, which is marvellous for me. 100% to everyone, thank you.
Feel safe. All staff helpful and make sure I'm safe.
