Late in February my father who along with my mother is a new resident in
the lodge invited me to lunch and to see the residence. I was greatly
impressed with the meal and the care shown by the staff. My parents are
very happy in their new surroundings and my mother who is suffering from
dementia couldn't be in better hands. At 92 my father finally has the
help on hand he needs to care for my mother who will be 90 in April. As
a family, we couldn't speak highly enough about the care offered in this
wonderful home.

After visiting my father this week, my heart is broken. I walked in to a
horrendous smell of urine, and a dad that looked like a homeless person.
He hadn't been showered, there were puddles of urine all over the place.
He has a UTI which has been ignored, his toenails were hanging off. He
is diabetic, so this is serious. His clothes stunk, and he was totally
confused as to who I was. He couldn't even take his clothes off to
shower. Where is the care? Where is the district nurse, where have my
father's basic human rights gone? We trusted this place and clearly he
is just a number or lodger. Utterly disgraceful.
