View Full Details of Woodland GroveMy husband is a relatively new resident but you cannot but be impressed with the care he receives. The staff are kind, thoughtful and caring and extremely patient. He is taking a while to settle but with their help I feel it will be achieved. In this review I particularly want to mention the Activities Staff. The joy they bring most afternoons is exceptional. No way could he be described as a foodie! However, he tells me the food is good and he has no complaints at all. They have enabled him to have care staff which best suit his needs and this had a profound effect on his daily routine and confidence. I am advised not to mention particular staff in writing this review so I just want to say that they listen to him and me and make adjustments where necessary and possible. With their encouragement he has also taken advantage of the visits they make in their mini bus and the small group outing is helping break the transition.
My partner has been in Woodland Grove for over eight years. It is an excellent care home with excellent staff. There is a lovely atmosphere the moment you enter the reception area. I looked at a few different types of homes but were very pleased we chose Woodland Grove. Well done to the managers and staff.
I just wanted to say thank you to the staff on Primrose Wing for the care and respect they showed to my father when I was over visiting in January. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The staff were cheerful and caring. The opportunity to take dad downstairs to the bistro for biscuits and a cuppa when I visited was very much appreciated. The food always looked to be of excellent quality. Dad really enjoyed the visit from the music therapist. Thank you
My mother had an amazing 80th birthday party. The room was beautifully decorated and the food was outstanding. Every single person commented on how lovely the experience was for them and Mum. It surpassed my expectations. There was a huge range of foods provided covering vegetarians and non-veg people - and the cake was perfect. One of the best parties we've organised for Mum and she's still talking about it two weeks later! Thanks to the whole team involved.
I chose this care home for myself after brain surgery. I was delighted with the service provided. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and approachable. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would rate this facility most highly. Thank you to the whole team!
My husband has been in respite care for three weeks and I'm hoping he can stay longer. The staff have been very kind and professional and there's always someone around to help. The interior is clean, modern and more like a hotel than a care home.
It was my sister's birthday and the home arranged for us to use the snug at the home so our family could have a tea and cake birthday afternoon. Their attention was excellent and we all had a lovely time, even if my sister did not know what was happening, she was happy to be with us all (son, daughter, husband, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends). Our thanks to a well-run Woodland Grove. Keep up the good work.
More than happy our family found this care home. It is so good to know my dad is in a very good home with excellent care and facilities provided. It has taken away the worry of him having to now live alone. All the staff are exceptional in achieving their professional and caring duties. To sum up, this home is brilliant.
We are very happy with the care our mother receives. There are times when she needs to be supervised more closely with personal hygiene. The food always looks nice but I'm told not always very tasty.
Very friendly, clean and well-run care home. My mum is being looked after well and I would recommend it to anyone.
I have visited daily since my wife was admitted and have always found that the cleanliness and the general look of the place was more like a hotel than a care home. The staff I found have always been attentive and caring and I am pleased that my wife is in as comfortable place as she could be considering her condition.
My 87-year-old mum managed to fracture her hip in early December and following partial replacement to repair it, came into Woodland Grove after leaving hospital for four weeks' convalescence. She received excellent care from all members of the team on the first floor. They were attentive and encouraging. Her room was bright and spacious and kept spotlessly clean. We, as visitors, were made to feel very welcome and often made ourselves tea and sat with her in one of the lounges on that floor. There was a full schedule of activities even over the Christmas and New Year period and families were invited to partake in all of these.
The care home looks after my mother-in-law very well and everything is excellent. The entertainment they provide is wonderful and they have a lot of activities to keep the residents occupied, which they do not have to join in with if they do not wish to. My mother-in-law particularly enjoyed the animals and the singers.
We are very happy that our friend is in such a lovely environment, with such caring staff, who always give us such a welcome when we come. It is very reassuring to know that she is safe and happy.
We were invited to join my mother at her care home for Christmas Day this year. We were very pleasantly surprised to see that tables had been put together to form a long row down the 'bistro' day room. The entrance hall and common rooms were beautifully decorated and a roaring log fire was on the TV screen to welcome us. The three course meal was served beautifully by members of staff and the chef came to visit so we all congratulated him on a delicious festive lunch. Afterwards the tables were cleared and chairs arranged in three rows so lots of other residents joined us in the bistro to watch the King's Christmas message. It was a real treat to watch it through with no interruptions. Everyone had a good view and subtitles were on. On other days the care at Woodland Grove is extremely good. The carers are very kind and understanding. The big highlight this December was the afternoon when two tame penguins were brought in to waddle around and were happy to be stroked on their backs!
All good - we are very pleased with the care my dad gets. The staff are very nice and caring, which is the main thing. My dad likes them, and they seem to know him well. They welcome me and other visitors too. Importantly, they all seem positive about being there.
Dad has settled in really well, the staff are very friendly and helpful, daily interaction activities are excellent, opportunities for trips out. Home very clean and bright, nice atmosphere. We feel confident he is in good hands.
Mum went into respite for 6 weeks and will probably be staying there now. Excellent place, very welcoming and all staff are always there to help and answer any questions you may have. Would highly recommend.
I visited several care homes before choosing Woodland Grove for my sister's care and although she has only been there three weeks I feel comments on the induction process would be helpful. My sister is not the easiest person to cope with but the home went out of their way to make her feel at home and reassure her. Their attention to detail and friendliness stand out in my opinion! The staff were numerous and seemed very happy to be working there, always a good sign. They addressed the numerous residents we met on our tour by name and seemed to have a great deal of patience. We made appointments to view and for induction without any problems. No questions were avoided and there was no rushing or pressure to choose. My sister seems to have settled in well and I feel a weight lifted as she will now be looked after in a warm, friendly and above all caring environment. What more could you wish for? Her money, her choice, but well spent. Highly recommended in my opinion!
I can't fault the communication and help given to transition my step-father into the dementia ward amongst a very challenging set of circumstances. The circumstances remain challenging but everyone at the home has gone above and beyond to help in all ways possible. The home itself is lovely and there are so many activities and things going on. The staff really do their best to inject warmth and fun into the proceedings. I genuinely feel they are doing their best to care for my step-father.
