View Full Details of Alternative House Care HomeAwful experience for my nana who is very early onset of dementia. Very dirty and dull place for dementia patients. Flooring into dining room is a trip hazard, I almost tripped over myself! Residents eat in living area even though dining room is there. Hardly any stimulation for the residents. Please avoid this place.
My sister has been a resident of both the Blackburn and Blackpool care homes for several years. She suffers from Alzheimer's disease and the relaxed environment at Blackburn, where she is currently living is ideal for her. There is a very homely feel to the place and she is kept warm, clean, well-fed, and cared for. All the staff are exceptionally kind to her and she appears to be happy and settled. At this stage of her life, what more could I ask for?
My father received first-class care throughout his time at the care home, from fully trained compassionate staff. The care home is very well managed and presents spotlessly clean at all times. The living environment is very welcoming.
After a family friend went in, I visited the home. I was surprised by how homely it felt, instantly making my visit relaxed and enjoyable. We were asked if we wanted to use a room to be more private but it was nice to allow them to remain with the other residents as they were getting used to them and their new surroundings, the staff seemed to be very attentive. I couldn't really complain.
I was really amazed at how well this nursing home is run. Everything is very clean, staff are polite and professional. My auntie loves staying there, she thinks she's on holiday. Lots of fresh air and great food.
A lovely welcoming care home a cosy experience. My father really enjoyed the home-cooked food and the 24 hours care with nothing too much trouble with the friendly thoughtful, patient staff. A thoroughly great time to relax and enjoy a small 'family' experience for a long or short break of respite care.
My mother is happy and settled in the home. All the staff are friendly, caring, and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The home has a lovely homely atmosphere.
Feng Shui House is a home to home care home and has a family feel to it. The staff are all friendly and very caring. Residents are always treated with respect and dignity. Always made to feel welcome when I visit my friend here.
Feng Shui House has a family feel to it and I believe that the resident I have a connection to is treated respectfully and with dignity. The people who look after her appear to have genuine respect for all of the residents and they are kept clean and well-fed. My only reservation is that because of the pandemic, understandably all the activities which were provided by outside people were stopped. I feel that the residents would benefit considerably if these activities were started up again and the hairdresser could come back.
My uncle was transferred to Feng Shui House in Blackburn following a temporary stay in another care home. Unfortunately, my uncle's stay was very short-lived as he needed urgent hospital care. The care home acted in a very professional manner, calling the ambulance and keeping the family notified. I have dealt with the owner and several of the staff over the last few weeks trying to secure a place at this care home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Feng Shui House Blackburn, the staff have been brilliant to deal with. Due to family circumstances, we're going to have to find my uncle a place at a care home nearer to where another relative lives when he is eventually discharged from the hospital.
My elderly mum moved into this care home in July 2021, I found the move for her to be the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, moving her from the family home but at 98 she needed more care than I could give her. I was distraught on moving day! Three months down the line now and it's amazing. Mum is so content and the staff are wonderful, all so friendly. Mum is enjoying their company and interacting with them. I feel so relieved now knowing mum is cared for and happy.
I'm very grateful to the home, I regard the staff as friends; extremely kind and always go above and beyond. My mum is content, safe and loves her meals (which smell delicious). I go in and out to see Mum most days and am always made very welcome. It's been very difficult obviously since Covid but I feel lucky my mum is being very well looked after. I speak to members of staff regularly, always happy to give good updates and if Mum needs anything. Thank you and keep doing such a fantastic and caring job.
My beloved friend spent 18 months here at Feng Shui House Blackburn care home. I don't think I could ever praise this home, management or staff enough for the level of care he received. He was so happy here. I loved going to visit too, obviously to see him but I was always made to feel so welcome and comfortable. The staff were always friendly and extremely professional, they went above and beyond. I always found Feng Shui House to be very clean and tidy. My friend loved the meals here, he said they were "impeccable"! My friend has recently passed away but I take great comfort in knowing he couldn't have been more looked after or cared for by the wonderful earth angels here at Feng Shui House, I feel forever grateful and truly blessed. I would have no hesitation whatsoever at recommending this outstanding care home and I will never ever forget them.
I would recommend Feng Shui care home to friends and family. The staff care for my father with kindness, respect and professionalism. The home has remained Covid 19 free since the 12th March (2020) and myself and the family thank the staff for their commitment in this respect.
My mother became a resident in the home last March, having enjoyed respite stays at Feng Shui House in Blackpool over the previous two years. Sadly she was resident for just two weeks as her dementia advanced, but my family and I are so glad she spent her last days at Feng Shui House. She was so happy there with excellent standard of care and genuine love from the staff. When her condition worsened and she went on palliative care, she remained at the home and was given the very best from the lovely staff right until the end. She passed in a happy atmosphere and I am eternally grateful for Feng Shui House for that. I cannot praise or recommend the place highly enough.
Sister is in this home and being looked after and is extremely happy, staff always very pleasant and always helpful.
My mum has recently passed away after spending the last year at Feng Shui. I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received. Our overriding feeling was that this felt like a home and that the staff really cared about the residents. The food was excellent and freshly cooked and the atmosphere always felt warm & friendly. The care Mum received in the last week or two of her life was lovely and respectful. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Feng Shui to anyone considering a care home for a relative.
The staff are all well trained and always have time to talk to the residents and interreact with them. I find there are always staff talking to the residents and helping them. This continual socialising with the residents allows the staff to learn their individual likes, dislikes, meal preferences and foibles. I find the staff and management are very approachable with any concerns and they are always dealt with promptly and efficiently.
A warm and welcoming home with lovely, friendly and genuinely caring staff. There is always someone available to help or answer queries. My mum has been here for two years now and is treated with respect and dignity - staff are happy to sit and chat with her and not just 'look after' her.
My Mum stayed on respite. We were invited to stay for lunch and could not believe the choices and quality of food. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend and/or use again.
