View Full Details of Eachstep BlackburnMy experience was not as well as I would like it to be. The full building smells of urine, the light has some tape over where clearly something is broke which then becomes a hazard for residents in the building and the public. Staff didn't really greet us on arrival.
I have been very impressed with the care my dad is receiving in Eachstep. I am living out of the country and so I obviously worry about my dad a lot, but whenever I visit the home I am reassured that he is being taken very good care of. His room is always lovey and clean. The food is great. There are activities going on that he can join in with if he chooses to and the staff are all friendly, chatty and warm. It's not an easy environment to live in or work in I'm sure, but I do appreciate the effort that goes into keeping everything running as smoothly as possible.
The home is always clean and generally has a good staff to resident radio. Activities are fantastic the residents interact well. Its never easy trying to carry out daily duties however the care staff work tirelessly to get the best outcome. Very welcoming front desk. Keep up the good work.
Overall pleased with the care received. The food is good. Nursing staff are quick to pick up any problems. It is a difficult time for everybody and everyone is doing their best.
Mum is really well cared for at Eachsteps, all the staff are great and genuinely care about all the residents. It is well maintained and there are always engaging activities on offer. The food is really good quality and there are always various options on offer. I have already recommended Eachsteps Blackburn to other people with elderly relatives. Thank you all for taking such good care of mum!
I can't praise the staff enough. They have been brilliant with Mum and looked after all of her needs. The regular activities and games are a great way for the residents to interact and socialise plus they can win prizes at bingo (which is a nice touch). Overall, a great place for your loved ones to be supported and given the care they need with the reassurance that they are safe and secure.
The love, care, support and respect shown towards our mum has continued to be outstanding. The lady in reception, the kitchen, household staff are the unsung heroes at Each Step Blackburn. Previous maintenance man also. Welcome to the new maintenance man! The extremely hardworking staff are always so welcoming, and approachable if you want to raise a concern. Yes, there are a lot of foreign workers but where would we be without them? There is a language barrier at times - some speak very softly so residents do find it hard to hear them. The Activities Co-ordinator is so energetic, full of some amazing ideas, and such a lovely person. So lucky to have her on the staff. Behind-the-scenes preparations lead to successful activities but it takes a huge amount of time. Well done. In an ideal world, more staff would ease the pressure on an exhausted staff. Park Homes owners need to remember the due diligence they promised us regarding staffing, improvements etc. Action now, please.
Mum came here when it was a different company, the new company have improved certain things, ie cooking the food on the premises, snacks available and drinks. I think the garden area needs maintaining to the standard it was in when it first opened, also I think the laundry needs reviewing
I love visiting my wife’s care home. It’s always a pleasant experience. Friendly and caring staff makes everything worth while. My wife is always dressed appropriately, clean smart and very content.
Very concerned with the lack of care offered. Not enough staff. The conditions are not fit for purpose, scruffy, dirty and very tired. Concerns over medication and fluids given. Concerns over the quality of food. Sick of excuses. Looking to move the resident. Without a dishwasher for over six months (How are they meant to care for residents when they are washing up?). Very sad as it was a cracking home when we first arrived. The new owners need to invest heavily.
Went to visit my mum on the Hussain floor, distinct lack of staff, it was a very warm day no drinks to be found. Mum was in another person's room on an unmade bed, her room was locked. I am also disturbed that senior carers seem to be making decisions on what I feel should be a medical person. Not surprised at the latest CQC report.
Disappointed with mum having hardly any clothes to wear. I handed in name tags when the lockdown was on and plenty of smart clothes. Another resident with her jumper on. I had to go and find her clothes in a pile under the stairs. Also, every time I've been, mum and other service users complain about the food being cold, hard, burnt, just not fit for purpose. Also, the handles on her wardrobe are falling off. Been like that for a month now and the bathroom is not cleaned to a good standard.
Mum entered Eachstep Blackburn in December 2019. We were delighted and felt very lucky to have found such a great place for her. She is very happy there. Very soon after Mum moved in, Covid struck. The response of the home, and the management of the care provider, in the face of chaotic government mishandling, was amazing. We felt that the whole team responded with tremendous dedication, care, and courage - way beyond expectations - and we felt very lucky and full of gratitude and admiration. Communications and responsiveness with families were amazing. Although the regular positive and creative communications with the management team in Widnes have come to an abrupt halt since the take-over by Park Homes in September 2021, the recent appointment of a new manager at the home has heralded a very welcome resumption of activities and updates. This is great to see, and much appreciated. Long may it continue.
My mum is very happy in Eachstep Blackburn, I speak to her every couple of days and she is always cheerful. I wouldn't want her living anywhere else, all the staff are fantastic and happy to help. Thank you, so much to everybody.
The care my mum receives at Eachstep is fantastic. I can not thank the carers enough for the complete respect, care and love they give my mum. I would recommend the home to anyone that is looking for care.
I find this care home very clean, very efficient and very friendly. I've no worries at all for my friend whilst she's here.
I am extremely happy with the care my In-Laws receive from the home. I have no issues recommending Eashstep to others.
Over the three years of being involved in Eachstep, through the care of my husband, I've found the majority of staff efficient. Unfortunately not all of them, the same applies to the laundry and the cleaning staff. There is no one manning the reception desk at the weekend which is poor. We were told we would have family meetings which are not happening. Apart from these comments, my husband has always been happy in his surroundings.
During May we had entertainment from a harpist and guitar player as well as a singer. I am well cared for. I am showered regularly and dressed and assisted with my meals. I went to the hair salon and had my hair done this week. My room is always very clean.
Find all the carers very caring. Front desk always helpful. Everyone makes you feel welcome. They have plenty of activities.
