View Full Details of Bourn View Care Home - Avery HealthcareVisited on 10th February - Monday. He falls a lot and his mat was not plugged in. He was served lunch in room & his chair was not adjusted so he could eat easily. In dining room, 1 lady against wall had a plate of food & was incapable of feeding herself. Food was all over her table. No one was feeding her. There seemed a staff shortage. For the feed being paid care should be better.
Dad has been at Bourn View Care Home for over four years now. He is happy and very well cared for. Staff always go above and beyond to ensure residents' safety and well-being are maintained. Despite a change in management over the past eighteen months, standards have been maintained in a time that must have been unsettling for staff. As a family, we are 100% happy with the excellent care Dad continues to receive.
The team are 100% professional, efficient and empathetic. They have made my mum feel supported and welcome as he has moved into the Bourn View Care Home from an extended hospital stay. The team have also helped us, as a family, to manage the transition into care home living which required our modification of approach with my mum. Thank you.
Everyone you see seems very happy, clean and well cared for. The staff are very friendly and polite.
My sister is very happy and content and well looked after. All the staff are very good to her and her visitors.
I can’t fault the care Mom has received since she has been here. The staff have the residents well being first and foremost. They truly care about the people that we as family have entrusted to their care. That is a great comfort for all concerned.
I am really pleased with the help and support my mother is given at Bourn View. The frequent activities are ideal for her, although she doesn't have to join in, she is delighted to do so. This is particularly helpful, as she has dementia and being active is so positive.
The care for my sister continues to be excellent. She is very well cared for and happy here. There are always going to be some issues, but I do feel that once raised they are addressed or at least explained. I would like to see a more consistent approach to actions promised e.g. making phone calls, cutting nails and phone calls. That said, I am very happy with the care my sister is receiving and feel the staff work hard, often going above and beyond.
My father has been a resident for the last eleven months. In this time, I have found the care to be very good by all the staff, from housekeeping to management, the carers are excellent in carrying out their duties, they have made Dad's stay a pleasurable experience, making it a home-from-home.
The staff are extremely patient with my mum, who is not an easy resident. They are caring and try to encourage Mum to get up, eat her meals and they have one-to-one conversations with her.
Choosing a care home was a huge decision for the family. So far, no regrets. The staff are a dedicated team showing a wealth of kindness, friendliness, love and support to my family. Most important, there are special times for bonding, e.g. having her nails painted and plaiting her hair, also putting on a little make-up (she loves bright nail polish). She enjoys some of the activities (need encouragement to take part more often), socialising is important for her to experience the joy, love and happiness of where she lives.
I was visiting a resident who is in respite care. Also, I stayed here on respite care five years ago for two weeks. The entrance and approach to the building is well well-signposted. The foyer is welcoming. The reception staff were very friendly and I was delighted that one of the reception staff from five years ago was still there. The care staff were gentle and helpful. They treated my friend with efficient care and dignity.
Very happy with the way my wife is cared for. The staff are always helpful and friendly.
This is a lovely care home. Always warm and welcoming. Individual care staff are excellent but there is some inconsistency in the standard of care depending on who is on duty. Mum has definitely improved in mobility and mental health since she came here and we are very grateful for that.
My dear mother has resided at Bourn View Care Home for over two years. Overall, my mother receives very good care. The staff (a consistent team) are warm, professional and extremely hardworking. The standard of cleanliness is also very good in all areas of the care home. My mother's room is well-maintained with a delightful patio. The onsite GP practice ensures that residents have frequent access to a regular GP who visits the care home. The staff are very vigilant and attentive regarding medical matters and always ensure that my mother gets appropriate medical attention.
From the minute you walk through the door you are greeted by smiling friendly professional people. My uncle only spent 3 months here before he passed, but he was made comfortable and treated so kindly by everyone, that we knew we could not have chosen a better place for his last few months. The staff from the front desk to the cleaners. Carers and kitchen staff are professional and amazing at what they do. The bistro in the entrance is a nice little touch, you can take your loved one out there for a drink and they have freshly made cakes and biscuits for you to help yourself. The care is top-class and personal to the individual. They think about the small details that a lot of places don't think of. Can't thank them enough for the care and love they have shown my uncle and us as a family.
There is a lovely, welcoming atmosphere as you enter Bourn View Care Home and a sense of life about the place. There is the chatter of residents enjoying cake and coffee in the lounge area by reception and it's good to hear conversations that relate to the local area. We chose the care home partly because Mum is from around here and this allows her to hear people talking about an area she has always known. Mum's been in Bourn View for five months now - she is settled, content, safe and secure.
My first impression of Bourn View Care Home - Avery Healthcare was that it was warm, inviting and welcoming. My friend has been staying for respite and has received kindness, support and care. They have now decided to remain as a permanent resident. We met with the manager who gave us excellent advice and reassurance regarding her future care. I have no hesitation in recommending future care. I have no hesitation in recommending Bourn View Care Home to friends and family.
Our 95-year mom has been at Bourn View Care Home since April this year and her care has been superb, exceeding all our expectations. We looked at several care homes for Mom when the time came that, unfortunately, she could not safely stay at her home and Bourn View was head and shoulders above all the others in every aspect. The staff are so compassionate and considerate in dealing with Mom's dementia. The home is immaculate with a cleanliness that is exceptional with beautifully maintained, safe grounds. Her room is bright with lovely decorations and homely furnishings. The food provided is of a very high quality with a good variety on offer, the care team go to great lengths to encourage Mom to eat her meals. Many activities are continually organised to help with the well-being of the residents, these are posted on Facebook for us to see. The staff are all very pleasant and well motivated. We have been so impressed from the very warm welcome at reception to the lovely personal care Mom is receiving.
My mum has been at Bourn View since January 2019 and we couldn’t be happier with the personalised care and love she has been shown by the staff in all departments. She tells us on each visit how kind everyone is and how lucky she is to be there. She is always encouraged to come out of her shell and to eat properly and we love to see the social media photos of her laughing and joining in activities. It really is a first-class care home and we have never felt this so keenly as in the last week when she had a health scare and was admitted to hospital. The Bourn View carers were calm, compassionate and so caring and she was welcomed back with open arms and we could see the relief and joy on her face to be back ‘home’. Thanks to all the carers, housekeeping staff, reception and management for their professionalism and genuine care for the residents.
