View Full Details of Culduthel Care HomeMy brother needed respite care after failing to cope at home when he came out of hospital. Culduthel Care Home were very helpful when we approached them and took him in at short notice between Christmas and New Year. He was made very welcome by all the staff, who genuinely seemed to be happy in their work. They helped him recover so that he was able to go back into his home after a couple of months.
My father has been a resident of Culduthel Care Home for the past 3 months, during which time I have been very happy with his care. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is an extensive range of activities to suit all capabilities and I have accompanied my father to many of these, which he has enjoyed. The food is varied and nourishing and should he not want anything on the menu there is nothing the staff are not able to provide for him. He eats well and has gained weight in the time he has been there. The surroundings are beautiful, furnished to the highest standard and there is always tea, coffee and soft drinks available to visitors, along with delicious home baking. I am always made to feel welcome and can visit any time and stay as long as I like. I cannot speak highly enough of Culduthel Care Home and feel extremely lucky that my father is now a resident there.
I cannot rate Culduthel highly enough. The care provided to Mum was excellent with a very person-centered approach. The Activities Team work hard to help residents stay connected to things they love, and introduce them to new experiences. Members of staff nurture relationships with residents and it was evident that they supported Dad during a very difficult time for him - being separated from Mum for the first time in 60 years /living alone at home. The home itself is beautifully furnished, maintained, and spotlessly clean. The menu is varied, tempting, and nutritious. Friends /family are always made welcome and offered refreshments - a home-from-home . The improvement in Mum's overall health in the 12 weeks she was resident is remarkable. We are in no doubt that it is due to the exemplary care she received that she has now returned home. Her stay has been a very positive episode for all of us. We will always be very grateful to the wonderful staff at Culduthel who do an amazing job.
I struggled with the idea of my Mother going into residential care as her dementia worsened. However, the staff at Culduthel are second to none, not only giving excellent care to my Mum but supporting me through the process too. The home is clean, tidy, beautifully decorated and laid out, with lovely facilities like a hair salon, and cinema. There are weekly activities progremme. Choices of menus. My gratitude goes to every member of staff.
I am impressed with this home. The residents are treated with dignity and respect. They are known to staff too. My Mother is well-dressed and has good hygiene. I enjoyed the meal in the restaurant, the food was well-cooked and tasty. I love the activities available to the residents.
Our family's experience at Culduthel Care Home has been nothing short of excellent. It is not an easy decision for anybody but the genuinely caring staff, very comfortable rooms, and warm atmosphere has helped Mum settle in very quickly. Surrounding herself with items from home has eased the process considerably and being able to entertain friends and family in the dining room enables mum to independently enjoy entertaining almost as though she was at home (delicious by the way!). For us, visiting Mum is a very relaxing part of the day and it does feel like visiting her 'at home'. I don't think that moving to a care home is anybody's Plan A but Culduthel Care Home has exceeded everybody's expectations, particularly Mum's. As I say the staff are very kind and treat Mum with dignity at all times. Life is certainly easier and safer. Mum is settled and very comfortable. I am grateful that they have been there for us as a family at what was a difficult decision to make.
Having placed my Mother in Culduthel Care Home, I was instantly impressed by the friendly atmosphere and the surroundings which seemed to feel more like a hotel than a care home. The room that we chose was delightful and my Mother is very happy with it. The staff are so professional, friendly and caring and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. From the management to all levels of staff there is a genuine commitment to giving the best care and I know that my Mother will be well looked after. I would highly recommend the Culduthel Care Home to anyone who is looking for a high-quality, safe environment for their loved ones.
Culduthel is a lovely and very well run care home. My parents were able to be residents there in the same room and to our family it was the next best place to home. The management and staff worked tirelessly to provide the best care for my parents with a genuine interest in their welfare and happiness and I am deeply grateful to them all. It was a joy to visit my parents knowing that they were in good hands. There was always a warm welcome at the door with smiles and greetings from the staff who would readily give me an update on my parents. They were a professional team yet felt more like friends or extended family. In fact, they were very supportive of the whole family in many ways. In my experience, I would say that Culduthel is an exceptional care home and I feel blessed that my parents were able to be cared for there.
The Culduthel Care Home is a wonderful example of a care home in every way possible. My step-mother benefitted from the relaxed, homely, comforting surroundings since she moved there. As well as this, the staff and management were all of an excellent quality and were all friendly, engaging and respectful. My step-mother passed away recently in the care home and I must commend all the staff in the home for their trusted professionalism and their compassion at the time. The whole experience was helped by the personal attention given to us by the staff. I can't talk highly enough about our overall experiences of this care home. Thank you all.
Mam has been a resident at Culduthel Care Home for over 5 years now. In that time her care has always been and continues to be phenomenal even when she is struggling. Staff at all levels work as a team and all contribute to Mam's comfort and well-being and are always there if we, as a family need help. I know she loves them all to bits, but that is only because she feels safe and content (most of the time) and beautifully cared for.
I remain more than satisfied with the care and attention my sister receives within Culduthel Care Home. She is treated with respect as I am when visiting. Any concerns I have had have been dealt with appropriately by a member of staff or management and specific information or changes in her care or health is passed to me timeously. Regular reviews with key workers and with other staff have proved to be helpful over this last year.
My mother has been a resident in Culduthel Care Home now for five years and her continuing ongoing care is exemplary. Throughout her stay her ever-changing needs have been met on every level by the caring and professional staff. Their approach with Mum is always with kindness, care and respect. They are always approachable, friendly and helpful with family and we are always kept informed of Mum’s condition. The home itself is a lovely environment, very hotel-like with regards to decor and facilities, and always clean and welcoming. It gives our family peace of mind to know that Mum is receiving such good care, and to that end, we must give the highest praise to all of the staff.
My father’s final year of life was spent in the wonderfully caring environment that is Culduthel Care Home. It was such a great relief to us when a space became available and throughout that time, the staff befriended him, watched over him, made him comfortable and attended to his many needs. Dad was admitted on a palliative basis. His final year was quite unexpected but knowing that he was being cared for in such a professional and kindly way has been a great comfort to us all as a family.
My sister recently moved into Culduthel Care Home. From my initial meeting with the manager, I had great confidence that this home was exceptionally well managed. The home itself is a really lovely, homely and very tastefully decorated with quality soft furnishings making it feel more like a hotel. It has very attractive coffee areas, lounge/dining areas and a hair salon. However, it is the staff that make Culduthel Care Home special. From management through to admin staff, nurses, carers and housekeeping staff, everyone was polite, cheerful, friendly, helpful, supportive and extremely welcoming, which made me feel at ease and completely satisfied that I had made the right choice for my loved one. I was encouraged by staff to customise the room in any way I wished and was helped by the staff to do this, nothing was a bother to anyone. All staff genuinely appear to want to make this home a happy place for the residents and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Culduthel Care Home to anyone.
Dad moved into Culduhel Care Home during lockdown - this was a difficult time and it took dad a long time to settle. Staffing issues and restrictions due to Covid impacted on dad's transition to his new environment. Staff members (with input from the stress and distress team) have spent time and effort to support dad's care needs and he is now more settled. More activities are now available and dad is included whenever possible. The food is good and we recently enjoyed a restaurant standard meal in the home's private dining room to celebrate dad's birthday.
My husband and I are often in Culduthel Care Home visiting an elderly friend and have been very impressed by the care given to residents and also the warm way in which they welcome visitors. The staff are kind and caring and nothing seems to be too much trouble. We have noticed how they engage with residents as individuals, whether they are in their own room or in the attractive and comfortable day room. It is evident that our friend enjoys conversations with his carers and they show a genuine interest in him as a person, as well as being ready to give help where needed. The in-house facilities are a real bonus, not least the well furnished café area where residents and their visitors can relax together. Rooms are spotless and the staff address residents and visitors alike in a warm, friendly way. It is the loveliest care home that I/we have ever visited and our friend has thrived under their care and attention despite his physical limitations. A place we recommend highly.
Culduthel is a beautifully presented care home. Mum is in a large and comfortable room (with ensuite facilities) it is immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. At every level I have found the staff to be caring and efficient, Mum enjoys the variety of activities on offer and the staff know her very well. She certainly enjoys the food and the cafe areas are a lovely idea for a change of scene when she has visitors.

When we approached Culduthel Care Home they were very welcoming and informative and made the process seamless. All her medical and personal needs were met, every staff member had a smile on their face, they always acknowledged you when visiting and there was a visible presence of staff on entering the home. Mum got involved with all the activities and participated in the exercise classes and movie afternoon. She was able to attend the hairdresser and her own chiropodist and our dog was able to visit. Mum enjoyed the food and nothing was too much bother if she fancied something else that wasn’t on the menu. The manager was visible around the home and is very approachable, the home is welcoming, friendly, efficient and professional, this is credit to the manager and all her team.
For three months I have been a daily visitor and witnessed the most amazing care being given without exception to all residents. I leave each day in awe of the consideration, compassion, friendliness, warmth, patience and loving kindness that is shown by every staff member. Time is taken to know residents by name and include them in conversation as they work. Nothing is too much trouble and requests are dealt with speedily. Residents' rooms are kept spotless and they are encouraged to have mementoes from home. The atmosphere everywhere is fresh and pleasant and the lounges are bright and homely. The cafe area is wonderful allowing the resident and family to be together in a relaxed setting. Personal preferences are known and staff do everything they can to accommodate them. The varied menu is nutritionally well-balanced and expertly presented to hotel standards. Our resident is happy, secure and has flourished beyond anything we could have imagined or hoped for. We are totally positive.
My mother went into this care home on 12 March 2020. The day of lockdown in Scotland. We had no idea this was going to happen and had the move planned for months. I literally dropped my mother off and couldn't see her for months. She suffers from dementia and also is totally immobile. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They were so kind, caring and respectful, we could not have asked for more. Management, nurses and carers all communicate with me very well by telephone and email as I live down south and only get up to see Mum once a month. She has a lovely room, and as dementia progressed, she moved to a different floor into another lovely room. The staff chat with her and joke with her every time they interact with her, they are absolutely marvellous. I can't praise them all enough. I viewed many homes for my mother all over Inverness, and also down in Worcestershire where I live, and not one came anywhere close to this one. We have been very lucky. If beer did care homes!
