View Full Details of Clarendon Court Care HomeMy mother has resided at Clarendon Court Care Home since June 2022. In my opinion, there isn’t a perfect care home, there will be things that you the relatives of the resident want to be done differently. This home though is one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones. The staff are friendly and professional at the same time, they will go out of their way to support your wishes and care for my mother in a calm and sensitive way. There have been challenges with my mum’s health recently, she was hospitalised for nearly a fortnight and the manager kept the family informed about the hospital admission and went to assess my mum’s needs to make sure things were in place for mum’s release back to the home. The manager and her team of staff have worked tirelessly to get my mum back to a place of dignity and rebuild her confidence. I’m so grateful for everyone's support that works at Clarendon Court. Everyone strives to be the best they can be.
Our mother has been a resident at this care home for approximately 18 months. At first, because of Covid restrictions, there didn't seem much in the way of entertainment for the residents. However, in the last six months, this has completely changed, with most of the activities resuming again. The staff are wonderful and completely dedicated as each day can be very challenging with Mum as her dementia worsens, but they treat Mum with the utmost patience and respect at all times. We do not have any concerns at all.
Although my mother loved living in this home I cannot recommend due to the total disregard of my mother's wellbeing, safety and health. This is due to a lack of professionalism from the management. My mother was evicted from her home during a hospital admission in the Covid pandemic. My mum was essentially homeless. The management deemed my mother a "Covid risk" to other residents which I can understand but a lot of other care homes were in the same situation. My mother was very ill at the time and was advised she needed nursing care but this home was unwilling to accept my mother back until suitable accommodation could be found. I feel the management acted selfishly and showed no compassion towards my mother or us, her family, who had no say on where she ended up and felt she was dumped in the first care home that became available due to Covid. We had no physical contact and we could not offer adequate support to my mother during this difficult time. My mother sadly passed away in December 2020.
I would like to thank the manager and all of her team for the kindness and excellent communication this home has provided to my mother. From day one the staff have been outstanding and so patient with my mother, keeping the family informed about her care and any updates. They have kept my mothers spirits up during this COVID-19 pandemic. We thank you truly from the bottom of our hearts.
My sister was admitted to Clarendon Court in August. She was there until today 27/12/12019, as she has now moved to a nursing home. She has severe Alzheimer’s with traumatic behaviour problems, she was placed there by Nottingham Social Services. I cannot thank the staff and managers enough for what they have done for my sister. The managers are so supportive to the families of residents, they helped me through some tough times with my sister. Her Alzheimer’s has progressed at an alarming rate and these past few months she is locked in a living nightmare, which causes her to have abusive and violent outburst to staff and other residents, but the staff have taken it all in their stride. They have managed her above and beyond what is normally called for and it was a sad day today her leaving there but she is so severe with Alzheimer’s she needs 24-hour nursing care. I'd like to thank all the carers, the laundry workers, the cleaners, the chef and kitchen staff and the management.
Fantastic staff great place. 1000% recommend. The home is clean and friendly and the food is great. They have great people working there for your every need.
