View Full Details of Milngavie Manor Care HomeFrom my very first visit I was impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and concern exhibited by all staff. This continued throughout my relative' s respite stay. Everyone I came into contact with went out of their way to reassure and to help both the resident and the family. The bedrooms and the public areas are lovely and spotlessly clean. Overall an outstanding care home.
My first experience was the interview conducted by a staff member to determine whether my mum would be able to go to "the Manor" for respite care. This interview put us at ease and we felt very confident as to the process and the handling of a very delicate issue. Upon arrival "the Manor" we were welcomed very kindly by everyone smiling and greeting us with open arms. This put us at ease and I was sure I had picked the best place for my mum to be looked after. To date, I am very pleased with all the care and compassion that has been shown to mum who is settled and enjoying all aspects of "the Manor", staff, food and activities.
My dad has been a resident at Milngavie Manor for 5 years now. He loves living there. It is such a warm, welcoming home and is always clean. The staff are just lovely, are so caring and know my dad's likes and needs very well. The food is delicious and the care home runs a couple of activities every day to keep residents entertained. I would highly recommend Milngavie Manor when looking for a care home for a loved one.
Milngavie Manor has the most excellent facilities and care staff. My wife is getting the best attention and care possible and it’s a great relief to me to know that she is so well looked after. I have no hesitation in giving the home 5 stars in every category.
My Mum has been in Milngavie Manor for seven years now, so you can say we are very happy with the care and attention she receives. Mum is now 99 years old and knows the staff very well, she has seen some come and go and some who have left over the past few years still come to visit her. The home is very much to our taste regarding cleanliness and the staff always have her dressed smartly and her hair is always done. The food is first class and she very much enjoys it. Activities are extremely good albeit she doesn’t always join in as she gets tired sometimes. The home has a mini-bus and Mum and other residents enjoy being taken out on outings fairly regularly. Very pleased with the new manageress who is always ready to listen to any concerns that we may have. I would thoroughly recommend this home to others who are looking for a care home where they can be assured that their loved ones will be well looked after.
The care of our Mum is exemplary. There is a detailed knowledge of her needs and wishes and very good monitoring of her complex health conditions. Standards of cleanliness are excellent. In short all the staff show her and us daily how they care for her.
Lovely décor and activities on at Christmas. Beautiful table set for Christmas lunch. Staff always kind and caring. Helpful too in assisting with making my mum ready for appointments off-site. Super clean too.
After my father had a severe stroke, I came to visit the home daily for a few hours over a ten-day period whilst my family recovered from bouts of Covid. As a frequent, persistent visitor during that time, I was able to observe multiple "days in the life" of my father in the home. He has lived there for one and a half years and this is the latest stage in his decline. The carers were superb, thoughtful, sensitive, caring in the complete sense of the word. Food was oof the scale excellent and enjoyed. The new manager was great, listened, acted, took on board feedback and was knowledgeable. Great nurses too, with the right medical treatments and proactivity. Deeply impressed.
I have been impressed by the level of care my husband has received and the professional standards shown by the staff. He has a pleasant spacious room and enjoys the meals served. The staff always have time to talk and discuss any issues
My mum has lived at Milngavie Manor for over four years. Throughout she has been thoughtfully looked after. All staff are pleasant and kind, patient and with an essential sense of humour. As a family, we are glad and grateful to have our mum so well cared for.
We could not have found more loving and caring staff for our dad who had dementia and whose home was Milngavie Manor for the last two years. So supportive to my mum too. Speaks volumes about the calibre of their staff, that each evening after ending their shifts, they stopped by my dad's room, to spend time with him and his children when he was on palliative care.
Our mother went into Milngavie Manor with dementia at the beginning of the Covid outbreak. We therefore could not inspect the home ourselves but had a good feeling about it from talking to staff and looking from the outside. All our hopes have been fulfilled, our mother is happy, relaxed and well cared for. We can visit her regularly now and always come away feeling reassured.
Personable, professional and able staff provide my mum with a safe and stimulating environment. I can't fault the level of care that she receives at Milngavie Manor. This has been a very successful move for her.
From the very first moment of her arrival, 3 and a half years ago, my mum knew she was going to fit in and feel very much at home here. There are so many positives that Milngavie Manor stands out from the crowd and from other existing care homes. Whenever I visit, there is always a feeling of friendliness and helpfulness and the continual excellent dedication and care from each staff member, throughout all departments, is clearly evident. Very happy to see the new manager making her presence known to residents and visitors alike, adding to that 'cared for experience' it would be good if Hamberley Care Homes would acknowledge the hard-working staff, especially during staff shortages where they are stretched and undervalued.
My aunt has been a resident of Milngavie Manor for the past 5 months. All staff are extremely professional, attentive and appear highly skilled. The public areas are well furnished and there is a high level of cleanliness noticeable throughout. Residents bedrooms are warm, well decorated and personalised. The en-suite bathrooms are kept spotlessly clean. Food appears to be nutritious, varied and plentiful. In my opinion the staff and management really do get to know their clients. They communicate regularly with me about my aunt's care and I feel that they listen to any concerns that I may have and act quickly to reassure me. As my aunt has advanced dementia she can get very agitated and anxious at times. During such times I have witnessed how the care staff show patience in calming, reassuring and redirecting her. It is a great comfort to me to know that my aunt is treated with respect and dignity and is well cared for. I can’t recommend Milngavie Manor highly enough.
I am very happy with the care my aunt has been receiving at Milngavie Manor since moving from another care home three months ago. I believe she is being very well cared for with staff keeping me well informed on how she is settling in and with regards to her health and wellbeing. All members of staff I have met, management, reception, cleaners, carers, nurses, and entertainment staff, are all very approachable and appear to be doing a great job in these challenging times. The chefs do a wonderful job keeping the residents fed, the quality and variety of food is great. All areas of the home are well maintained and are kept very clean - residents' rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, as are the common areas (lounges, dining rooms, cafe etc). I would have no hesitation recommending Milngavie Manor for a loved one.
I'm delighted with the care given to my husband over the past 3 months. I appreciate the effort made during a period of lockdown to keep all the residents safe. From the reception, personal care staff, the cleaning and laundry staff and the catering staff, all have been supportive of my husband's needs.
My brother is extremely well looked after and is always clean and tidy. Staff are very good, and nothing is too much trouble. The establishment is clean and tidy with nice decor. Food is good and nourishing. Entertainment is well planned and fun. I have no complaints.
Lovely home, really is luxury but homely at the same time. Got everything you need, cafe, cinema and nice gardens. My aunt loves it and would recommend anyone to visit.
I am very happy with the care my husband has received at Milngavie Manor. The staff are attentive and always willing to attend to my husband's needs. There is always a well-cooked, tasty and varied menu available at mealtimes. A variety of events and activities take place every week, residents choir, painting, exercise, book club, musical entertainment to name a few. I always feel welcome when I visit and often join in the activities with my husband.
