View Full Details of Mayfield ViewBoth our parents were in Mayfield for a total of three years. Sadly, they both passed away with just a few weeks between them at the end of last year. From the day they both went into Mayfield, the care that they both received from the staff was exceptional. My sister and I cannot thank the Manager and all of her team for the care that they provided for Mum and Dad every day, treating them as family members and not just a resident, which was lovely to see. All the team were amazing and were a huge part of our lives during the time our parents were there. We were always included in everything that was going on at Mayfield; the communication between the staff and ourselves was paramount. My parents were happy with the care and we knew that they were being looked after very well, whilst still being treated with the upmost respect. Nothing is too much trouble at Mayfield. We miss our "Mayfield family" deeply, but would not hesitate in recommending them to other friends and family.
Dad lived at Mayfield for the last 18 months of his life. He settled in well and received incredibly kind and compassionate care from all the staff. He enjoyed taking part in the many activities. He had a lovely room which was very cosy and always clean. All the staff were very friendly towards him and all who visited. During his final days - he was very well cared for and I am incredibly grateful to all the staff who went the extra mile to not only look after Dad but the family visiting as well.
All of the staff working at Mayfield view are caring and professional. The whole atmosphere is one of positivity and support. We know that my mum is being well looked after and that is a great relief for us.
My father moved into Mayfield View after a fall, a stay in hospital and with increasingly bad dementia. The staff were so kind, patient and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble! They cared for me as a person and for my dad as a person right to the end of his life. They treated us both with dignity and human kindness. The room was kept immaculate, despite my father being bed-bound. Attempts were made to interest him by providing books and DVDs. They patiently fed him when he could no longer do this. They changed him into a day shirt in the daytime and pjs at night time to help him orientate in time. They provided a bed extension within 24 hours of his arrival as he was tall. Just wonderful care and so reassuring to me who had cared for him at home until his fall. He was 92.
Staff are very caring and genuinely care about the residents needs. Grounds are very well kept and was lovely to see some of the residents in the grounds planting flowers. Would highly recommend. The little cafe is a great touch which seems to be used frequently.
Mum went into Mayfield in February 2024 due to recent falls at home where she had been living independently on her own since my father passed away 7 years ago. The process was easy to understand, supportive and professional from the start. The staff were attentive, and caring and allowed my mum to settle in and despite her health challenges she was safe, cared for and happy in her new environment. Her health deteriorated unfortunately but with the support of staff and the local GP service her needs were met for the few months she remained at Mayfield. On behalf of our family, I thank all the staff, too many to mention, for looking after Mum in the last few months of her life. Kindest regards.
The care and support provided to my father, who initially went to Mayfield View for a 4-week respite stay and then remained there, was excellent. All staff, from receptionists to carers to the maintenance person were positive and nothing asked was too much trouble. I can say no better than that, if and when I need a care home Mayfield View will be at the top of my list!
From first introduction to Mayfield View Ilkley, everything has been efficient and professional but with a great deal of humility. The administration of our enquiry through to bringing my father to Mayfield had been fantastic. The staff (each and every one) have been wonderfully kind and attentive with my father. Such a comfort to the family in this difficult time. Thanks to all.
On the whole satisfactory, but with a few improvements could be much better. Lunchtime main course was not very good, cold plates and over or under-cooked vegetables. Desserts good. Day staff, activity team and reception staff excellent. Management very pleasant and helpful, but doesn't follow up on complaints. Night staff not good. Not respectful and kind to residents and don't seem very well trained. Also the night staff sometimes very noisy at night. Hygiene in bedrooms not brilliant, water jugs not regularly changed.
Found the care to be excellent specifically on the dementia floor. The staff are all very friendly and competent. We are able to relax knowing she is being cared for with consideration and kindness.
I have written before a glowing review of Mayfield View Care Home in Ilkley where my mother has resided for the last 7 months. It is hard to fault the care in this wonderful place, and today my comments focus on the wonderful reception team at Mayfield. I have visited many care homes where no reception even appears to exist and the atmosphere on entering is anything but welcoming. So I feel Mayfield deserves to be singled out for providing a full-time exceptional reception team who are always there to greet and assist you, with a sunny smile and a real family welcome! I want the whole Springfield management team to know how much we appreciate this as the families of residents. It is particularly special that every member of the reception team seems to immediately know the day-to-day concerns of my mum every time I go... so that rarely do I need to be troubled with communicating any concerns; they are already 'in hand'! Thank you to each and every one of you on the reception team!
We were in need of an immediate care home for my godparents. The administration provided was fantastic, and they managed to secure a double en-suite room the very same day we contacted them. Everybody was extremely helpful during a very stressful time. They have both now settled in well and are getting the very best care, comfort and meals in delightful, warm surroundings. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the excellent experience.
My mother had a recent, short stay on the Willow nursing community at Mayfield View Care Home. Her care was exceptional by all the staff. One staff member in particular was so kind and helpful. My mother had never wanted to go into care and we were concerned she would not settle there but she never complained and was happy to receive the care as she was treated with dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would highly recommend Mayfield to anyone.
I cannot rate Mayfield View Care Home highly enough. All the staff were exceptional and so kind caring for my mum until the end of her life even though she had only been there a short time on the Willow Community nursing floor. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the care she received was outstanding as well as being extremely supportive to me and my family.
The home provided a pleasant atmosphere for my mother’s final days, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They were attentive, respectful, kind, and supportive, and I felt that my mum was in capable and caring hands. They helped to make her comfortable, and that was really important for us as a family. We were well looked after too. I’d like to thank all the staff who helped to look after my mum. The nursing staff were particularly competent, providing a much better level of care than Mum received in the hospital. Thank you for making a very difficult time that much easier for us.
Thanks to you and all the staff at Mayfield View Care Home for all the love and care you give to Mum and the other residents. So much appreciated by the family.
After a significant stroke and being unable to be cared for at home, my father moved into the Mayfield View Care Home in August. From the first point of contact, the staff provided exceptional care and we were made to feel so welcome with nothing being an issue. My father's health has improved he enjoys the meals, and appreciates the care from the staff. The amenities are clean, contemporary and practical, you have the impression you are in a hotel rather than a care home. The grounds and views of Ilkley Moor are magnificent and add to the home's tranquil atmosphere. You may visit whenever you like and the staff are always delighted to look after you. We recently organised a family celebration for my mother and father, and all the staff could not have been more accommodating, providing a gorgeous and private room, buffet, and cakes that were beyond our expectations. Knowing our father is in such excellent and safe hands makes us extremely grateful to all of the Mayfield View staff.
My mother was a resident at Mayfield View Care Home for just under 8 months in 2023. We chose Mayfield View because it was relatively new, was well-appointed with spacious rooms and had the feel of a hotel rather than a traditional care home. She felt safe. She valued the easy access to the visiting GP after struggling to get face-to-face appointments with her previous practice. The caring environment no doubt contributed to an improvement in her general health and self-confidence. She made good friends amongst the other residents and spoke highly of some of the staff. She found the food quality to be disappointing. Most is bought in pre-prepared then reheated. There is very limited fresh seasonal produce on the menus. We raised this with the management and were promised improvements but these were limited and not sustained. My mother moved to another care home closer to family and friends which provided better food, cooked on the premises from fresh ingredients by a proper chef.
Happy 5th birthday Mayfield View Care Home! The residents and families were recently invited to a wonderful party to celebrate and our 92-year-old father, who has dementia, had a great time. He enjoyed a glass of beer and loved the live music. The staff were very welcoming and had clearly put in a great deal of effort to make the evening a success. Dad has been living there for over two years now and is happy and content. The staff have been caring and supportive not only to Dad but also to us, as a family. Mayfield is a purpose-built home with spacious rooms and a lovely garden. Dad enjoys the varied activities and it’s great when the staff send us texts and photos of what he’s been doing. Thank you to all the staff!
My Gran was discharged from hospital to Mayfield View Care Home for end-of-life care after a fall at her home. She suffered from Dementia and often became distressed and confused. The nurses treated her with such kindness and dignity and as a family, we felt we could finally relax knowing that she was getting such amazing and personalised care. The team really listened to us and respected our wishes on what was important to us for my grans last few weeks. The nurses really embraced us as a family at this difficult time and ensured that we all felt comfortable and supported. My 2 sons loved to visit (especially at cake time) and were always welcomed with open arms by the nurses and we were all able to have some lovely last precious memories with my gran when she was calm and content, after a pretty horrendous time in hospital we will be forever grateful for this.
