View Full Details of Richmond Villages Wood NortonMy sister and I are grateful that Hanbury care floor were able to welcome our mother with less than 48 hours notice after a fall, leaving her unable to move independently. The specialist equipment available on this floor means she is able to be showered and generally cared for with dignity. The team liaise with local doctors practices, occupational and physiotherapists. They have organised hospital transport and provided additional equipment as required. Staff are on call 24/7 and are kind, helpful, considerate, friendly and caring. They encourage mum to join in with activities both on the care floor and within the village generally. The food is extremely good, there are always three choices for lunch, and the vegetarian option is appetising and appealing- so much so that our father often joins her for lunch! Our parents are going to remain at Richmond Village in one of the assisted living suites where mum will have the benefit of domiciliary care in a caring and safe environment.
Mum came into a respite bed following a gas leak at home. Unfortunately she found the ward very noisy, phones weren't answered and her buzzer wasn't answered when she needed help. I had gone through the timings of her meds with the nursing staff (she has to take 2 at different times to the others) but this didn't happen. With one exception I was not very impressed with the staff, and the day I was told that the ward was not a hotel was the day I moved Mum out of the care wing and into the Assisted Living wing. I was grateful that they took her as we were desperate but I would think twice if she needed to go back into the care wing.
After a short stay in hospital, Dad was unable to return to his suite in assisted living at Wood Norton, so he moved onto the care floor for palliative care. Hanbury staff looked after Dad very well for the final few weeks of his life, in a warm, caring, and friendly environment.
After my mother was discharged from Hospital, we decided to book her into Wood Norton Care Floor for respite care. Mum was there for three weeks and I am sure, if we had not placed her in the excellent care of the team at Wood Norton, she would not have recovered so well from her illness. The environment was homely and relaxing, providing the perfect place to rest and recuperate. The care team was second to none, nothing was too much trouble. I observed many interactions between Mum and the staff, who were always friendly and respectful. Mum left Wood Norton's Care Floor a much stronger person than when she arrived. We are very grateful to all the staff who helped her recover.
My mother came to Wood Norton for 3 weeks of Respite care. She was looked after so well, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They treated her as an individual and at no time did she feel their schedule was more important than she was. Her room was immaculate, cleaned daily, and bright and airy. The food was appetising, piping hot, beautifully presented, and very tasty. To begin with, she wasn't eating much so the kitchen made her an individual plate to suit her taste on the day. She definitely recovered very well and rebuilt her confidence. She is living independently back at home. I would strongly recommend WN for any care requirements.
We cannot praise Hanbury Floor staff highly enough. Their care was second to none. The cleanliness was excellent. My Uncle's stay here was a home from home once my Auntie could no longer care for him at their home.
The staff are very kind and caring and are always here for me, the nurses and manager are very good.
My mum was admitted to Richmond Villages Wood Norton last year, due to ill health and mobility issues. She had experienced a series of falls in a previous care home. We were well-supported throughout the whole process. We found it to be a clean, safe and well-run environment. Mum was treated with kindness, compassion and respect, as myself and my family were. All staff from nurses and carers to cleaners, hosts, receptionists and administrators, were kind, caring and very respectful. All are very in tune to the needs of residents and families. Mum spent her last few months there, where she was treated with compassion and dignity, until she sadly, peacefully passed away.
Following an abdominal operation in hospital, I was cared for on 'Hanbury' by a wonderfully experienced team. It made such a difference to my recovery having a lovely room with a beautiful outlook across fields and woodland, and to have thoughtfully appointed wet room as well as adjustable bed. All the staff were delightful, kind, thoughtful and seeing that, was needed to help me. I recognise that their care speeded up my recovery from the operation.
Lack of care! The employees are just doing a job in my opinion. Have been told lots of false truths about my Mother's care in the time she has been there.
My experience with the wonderful team on Hanbury care unit was such a positive one, despite the tragic circumstances, when my Mum spent four weeks there at the end of her life. I was anxious to find the best nursing home for her needs and know I absolutely made the right choice. I was impressed by the beautiful decor, cleanliness and fresh smell of the entire facility. The managers, nursing and care staff could not have been more attentive - checking on Mum and I frequently and showering her with love and kindness. The nurses were always willing to answer questions or address my concerns about her condition and they never made me feel like a nuisance. They spent time getting to know us and updated me daily on how she was doing. Mum could not talk but I knew from the way her face would light up with a big smile when she was with the staff that she felt safe and cared for. As she approached the very end of her life I was allowed to stay and the staff were so supportive and respectful. I 100% recommended them.
I am very well looked after and happy.
After an operation on my back in December I was discharged from hospital without a package. I was pleased with the respite I had. Staff were friendly and cheerful and all the staff were extremely helpful and caring. The care manager was also extremely helpful. The only criticism I have is the physiotherapy (probs because I was in Christmas and New Year) and difficulty in replacing any pills that had run out.
My Mum was extremely reluctant and very upset about having to go into a home, but the staff were amazing, and Mum eventually settled in, giving high praise for the care received and the wonderful accommodation. She was only there for 7 weeks and sadly passed away a few days ago, but I know during her time there that the care was exceptional, the staff were so friendly, supportive, thoughtful, professional, brilliant! A huge thank you to all the staff, care, cleaning, kitchen, reception and management. I was always made to feel very welcome when visiting, I will miss seeing them all (and the cups of tea). Thank you.
Rang the care home on Monday morning, and we were able to take Mum in the following day. All the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, and the whole process was made very easy. A superb facility.
The staff at Wood Norton have gone to great lengths to ensure that both my parents are happy and comfortable in their new home. I am very happy with the level of care they receive.
My mum has been in Hanbury (of Richmond Villages) since May last year and it is good to know she is being looked after and is comfortable. She is safe and the staff always tell us what is going on. Very happy with the care.
I have always found every member of staff to be willing to assist me or my aunt in all aspects of daily life at Wood Norton. A fantastic team in a superb setting. It is very comfortable to know that my aunt is in safe hands, receiving the care that enables her to make the most of every day. Well done, everybody.
My mother-in-law and Aunt have been in Wood Norton for over a year now, and in all that time, have been cared for extremely well. My aunt went there under palliative care. They have all worked wonders. Both residents are extremely happy and comfortable. As a family, it has given us peace of mind. Wood Norton is very welcoming and exceptionally clean! All members of staff are approachable and friendly.
Upon my initial visit to determine suitability for my mum at Wood Norton, I found the staff to be helpful, answering all my questions, allaying any fears, and seeing how caring they were towards the residents was exemplary. The admission process was made very simple and mum settled very easily into her well appointed, homely room. From day one, the staff have been fantastic with mum, caring for her every need, finding out her likes/dislikes and even calling her by the name she likes. I can only describe my experiences of the staff as being thoughtful, caring, patient, kind, attentive, professional and responsive. Nothing has been a problem which has been a comfort for me due to living far away.
