View Full Details of Walberton Place Care HomeIt is always difficult to make a decision regarding your loved one's care, as there are so many things to consider for each individual. Owing to my own sudden bad health, the decision for respite care for my elderly husband had to be done in a hurry. I asked many friends and neighbours who have lived in this area, and the answer was always Walberton Place Care Home. Such a good decision in every way. He has had kind and caring attention at all times, and it has made my life easier knowing that he is in good hands and safe. He may have to have more respite care in the future and I know he would be happy to return here. Thank you one and all.
Mum has been at the home for some time now and in my experience it has been excellent. Care, support and attention to the whole family and good communication. Food and catering facilities are excellent and my husband and I often stay for Sunday lunch which is set up as if we were taking Mum out to a restaurant. The hairdresser takes such care to make sure the residents feel special and look nice. During Christmas, the staff worked so hard to make the activities and decorations a memorable occasion. The catering team helped us to celebrate Christmas with family and friends as a party for Mum. Thank you to a great team, such a blessing to know that she is in beautiful surroundings and being so well looked after.
I visited my Mum on the morning of Christmas Day 2024 and was thrilled to find the home buzzing with Christmas joy and a real family feeling. There were high numbers of cheerful staff making it a very special time for all residents. The home had not only bought a gift for each resident, but I noticed, with delight, that significant thought had been given and each gift was very personalised. This home really gets to know the particular interests and likes of its residents. As I live a long way away and am only able to visit about every six to eight weeks, for a few days, it was very reassuring to see how much thought and care is given to my Mum. She is happy and settled and regularly says how lovely the staff are. The care at this home is to be praised; from the quality of the food, the general cleanliness, the range of activities on offer, the patience, kindness and respect of the staff towards the residents and their friendliness towards visitors. A lovely place for my Mum.
Mum has really flourished since living here. The care and compassion has been outstanding and we see such positive changes in Mum's wellbeing. Mum is really happy here. We enjoy out visits with her, and have total piece of mind that she is very looked after.
My husband has been in full time care since October. During that time I've been impressed and reassured that he is in good hands. He has dementia and is deteriorating. They keep me informed at all times of his progress and they do their best to deal with his needs.
The care home has been incredible. They quickly made a room available at short notice. They were friendly, professional and helpful throughout. They have reassured my mum and myself that Dad will be cared for and happy. They have also understood his interests and hobbies. Beautiful and caring staff. Thank you.
This home is amazing. Beautiful setting and stunning interior. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The care and support is exceptional. The residents are treated like family and with dignity and respect. There are lots of activities available and events that families can take part in too. The food is wonderful offering a wide variety to cater for everyone. The whole home is very clean and kept to high standard. Safety is exceptional. Staff and management are always happy to help with any queries. It really is like home away from home. I cannot fault the care given to my family member and it has given me peace of mind to know they are well cared for and happy. Highly recommend this beautiful care home. Thankyou to the whole team for all your hard work.
From inquiry about care home, experienced kindness, friendliness and openness regarding introduction and individual requirements for my mother's needs and comfort. Given tour and opportunities to help choose her room. Excellent communication from all staff. Care and nursing care were excellent and thoughtful to the end. After this care extended to relatives.
There are lots of carers. It's light and airy and doesn't feel like a traditional care home. Staff are friendly and helpful. Accommodating regarding food and en-suite wet room increases Mum's independence.
When my dad had a fall back in May 2023 we thought he would be going back home but after diagnosing him with dementia this was not going to happen. Needing to be brought back to the community, the suggestion was to come to Walberton, wow what a transformation to his wellbeing. The home, the staff, the everything have been amazing. I cannot fault anything with Walberton! Amazing!
Kind, personal and superbly professional staff. Walberton really puts the care in 'caring'. We are very fortunate to have chosen Walberton for our mother.
Walberton has given the best care, made her stay feel like home. The last 2 and a half years, I have never worried about the quality of care. As I lived in Holland, it gave me peace of mind every time we came to visit. The quality of hygiene is fantastic, the care is superb.
I can't praise the staff of Walberton Place enough for the care of my aunt. We have been pleased to witness such tender gentle care, treating her with such dignity. We know that she is very appreciative of the care she receives by the comments she made to us... She told us that she felt valued as an individual at Walberton and that she felt she was able to contribute in her own way to the many activities on offer. This moves and greatly reassures us. We also appreciate the easy communication from the Home Manager - right across the board including the Reception, Hospitality and cleaning staff (she thinks the hairdressing is the best she has found in the Chichester area!). Each and every one of the staff knows our names and are always keen to give us sensitive updates on my aunt. Thank you Walberton for all the kindness and respect shown to us as a family - greatly appreciated by us all.
Since the new manager has arrived, there is a marked improvement in the feeling of how Walberton Place is run. The home is cleaner and for sure the staff have more purpose and seem much happier, which reflects upon the residents' happiness. The gardens look well-kept and upon arrival, the front lawn is not a wilderness. It is mowed and the flowers give a welcome. The gardener is also doing a great job.
My nan is currently a resident at Walberton Place. The majority of the building does not feel like a care home and has a lovely downstairs cafe and garden area to enjoy a coffee when we visit. The first floor could do with some TLC, carpets replaced/washed, kitchen upgraded and possibly hallway air fresheners. It does have a very different feel to downstairs. Downstairs also has a hair salon which is a great touch. The rooms are lovely, spacious and well-kept. It would be good if there was slightly more structure to the first floor in terms of the level of care required for some residents. The staff are brilliant and very supportive, and Walberton provides a relaxed homely feel. I believe my grandmother is safe and happy which makes me happy. Would be good to see them supporting people with getting out into the community more but the activities they offer onsite are great. There is one Activity staff member in particular, who is amazing with my nan. Thank you to all.
I continue to be very impressed by the staff and the quality of provision at Walberton Court Care Home. My dad is thoroughly looked after and his needs are met with gentle care. The staff also support me as a relative which is very much appreciated. My dad and I cannot recommend it highly enough and we would like the staff to know of our appreciation.
They say that life is what you make it, never a truer statement said in jest. I, like others, would perhaps not choose to be in a care home but I am so lucky that fate played a part in my being a resident here at Walberton. I feel at home, I feel valued and I feel secure. The staff do a grand job, their patience and tact with fellow grumpy residents is a credit to themselves. Bravo. The whole set-up works, the day begins and the amazing chef begins his demanding task of placating the palettes of around 70+ hungry people, he succeeds with aplomb. Front of house (dining hall, reception, cleaning) always have a smile, on the odd day that I may feel a tad down, they are there to brighten the day. I could go on enthusing the attributes of Walberton but I shall not, I will surmise by repeating, I do not want to be in a care home but I am super happy here, I still have my independence supported by a great group of staff. I'm simply happy.
Excellent food, bistro staff kind and helpful. Good bedroom (bed a bit hard) needs hooks for coats etc. Bathroom very good but needs a soap rack in the shower, hooks on the door and a heated towel rail. Poor laundry service. Overall, very good. Walberton Place will be on my list when I need long-term care. One aggressive resident spoilt some meal times.
My husband was at Walberton Place for six months but sadly died at the end of October. He was very well cared for during that time, especially as he was immobile and needed a lot of help with hoists. All the staff were very kind to my husband and me. They encouraged him to take part in various activities, which he enjoyed. I was able to visit him nearly every day as the home is close to where I live, which made a great difference.
My mum had a respite stay at Walberton Care Home for two weeks. The staff were kind and attentive. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a private en-suite and was very well equipped. The food was delicious and there was a tea and coffee room open all day. There was entertainment and activities every day in one form or another. I was very happy with her stay and when she is in need of more permanent care I will be going to Walberton Care Home.
