View Full Details of Nesbit House Care HomeI was dreading selecting a care home for my wife but not at all. I was sent details of Nesbit House and was so surprised how perfect it was on my visit and accepted straight away without seeing any others. Everything about the home is perfect and my wife couldn't be more comfortable and looked after by the caring homemakers and other staff. I would urge others to consider Nesbit House for themselves.
Having just visited my mother, I found her in good spirits, clean, tidy, well-fed with drinks to hand, happy and feeling safe. She was not well yesterday, and an ambulance crew attended. All is well. The nurses kept me fully informed at every stage. The home and all the staff, from management to carers, have been exceptional. Always smiling and happy to help and discuss mom. Thank you.
My mum was reluctant to enter a care home but declining health meant it had to happen. Nesbits welcomed her, gave her a room which suited her needs (ie: to be closer to people and not the end of the corridor). They are superb, from the admin home makers, nursing and chefs. The home is always clean and tidy. The facilities and entertainment are first class. All I can say is thank you. Nesbits is a really lovely place.
It's taken me a whole year to reflect and write this review. I'll keep it factual and honest. My loved one was in the care of Nesbit House and initially we were also wowed by the plush facilities and exterior. A few months in there was a serious incident at the home and the response that followed from the management team was horrific. Playground bullying, bare face lying and blackmail tactics were used against me and my family. When the hospital issued a safeguarding complaint against the home our slot in the home was withdrawn (despite receiving a voicemail 24 hours earlier saying there were no issues with extending care). Effectively making a 98 year old homeless. Please please be careful when choosing for your loved one. On a positive note I cannot fault the junior staff who were genuinely lovely people who cared, so thank you to all of those, we didn't get the chance to thank.
I visited a close friend who transferred from hospital and is on palliative care with short life expectancy. Group of family and friends visited lunchtime for a party. Food and drinks were provided (without charge). All staff caring and friendly. Everywhere spotlessly clean and room light and airy. Whem and if I reach the stage of needing a care home, Nesbit House would be my first choice.
My father has been living at the care home for the past 18 months and he is very well taken care of. He especially enjoys the food. Recently, we had the pleasure of experiencing the cooking firsthand when we were invited to a family dining experience with my dad. The three-course meal was expertly prepared and served, making it a truly wonderful experience. A big thank you to everyone involved!
Had a family lunch, four people plus a resident. Was absolutely delicious and was an amazing meal. Beautifully prepared and cooked so thank you very much, thoroughly enjoyed it.
I was there to recuperate after a period in hospital. The first thing I noticed was how warm and genuinely friendly everyone was. I was extremely well looked after by all the staff, many of whom gave me extra, personal and very thoughtful care and attention. The accommodation, facilities and decor are of a very high standard. Everywhere was very clean. The food was very good and sufficient for my needs. My visitors were also made very welcome. The setting, garden and views are lovely. It is a peaceful home.
My mum has been here some months and has settled in well. I know she is being well looked after which is a great weight off my mind. Very happy.
This month the maintenance officer and wellbeing coach organised a celebration of International Nurses' Day. My mother (a retired nurse) was made to feel very special and truly appreciated the acknowledgement of her years of commitment and passion to the NHS - once a nurse, always a nurse! On one occasion, I overheard one of the carers/homemakers saying that it was an honour to care for a fellow nurse. Such kind gestures mean so much to my mother and her family - thank you.
The home is beautifully appointed. As my friend is unable to speak I understand from another resident that the food is good. Our concerns, my friends and I who visited regularly, were with the amount of time my friend spent alone, seemingly. We had hoped that she would have more stimulation but that didn't seem the case. We sometimes arrived to find the TV wasn't on and on two occasions extremely thirsty. Skincare and giving of medication was good. We were not sure how often she had her hair washed or if she had a shower ever. For those with severe disability, this is not the home we thought it would be.
Came to Nesbit House for 4 weeks to recover from hip replacement operation. Staff were very obliging and could not do enough for you.
Lovely home, staff ever friendly and so helpful, They go out of their way to make sure we all were well fed and had enough drinks. Food is of the highest standard. What a spread. The afternoon entertainment was very nice, lots of singing and the cakes and scones were delicious. One can see that residents are well-fed and taken care of. Highly recommend this lovely home.
My mother has been a resident of Nesbit House for over two years. She appears healthier and happier than when she was living in her own home. Without exception, all care staff, as well as catering, housekeeping and maintenance staff are dedicated, committed and kind. One of the reasons I selected Nesbit was because it is neither too large (which might make it impersonal) nor too small. The carers take time to know my mum’s likes and dislikes as well as her idiosyncrasies! The nursing staff and the manager are always accessible if I have queries about my Mum’s health and wellbeing. There is a wide range of activities and entertainment. The menus are imaginative and the food is excellent. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated and spacious, although perhaps more appropriate furniture could be provided for residents as the standard furniture is rather hotel-like. Overall, I’m impressed by the professionalism of everyone, and with the care which is provided with compassion.
Both my parent are residents of Nebit House and have been welcomed and made to feel safe and secure. All their needs are being met and to a very high standard, but also allowing them dignity and privacy in their life now. This is enhanced by the beautiful garden rooms they now live in.
Dad has settled in extremely well at Nesbit House since his admission ten weeks ago; it was arranged very suddenly due to the complete collapse of the caring arrangements he had at home, and our family are very grateful to the team at Nesbit who made this very distressing time as easy to deal with as possible. Ten weeks on, we are all very happy and know that we made the right decision for Dad to live permanently at Nesbit House; he is receiving the best possible care. The Clinical Lead and Home Manager have been highly supportive and personally involved in ensuring Dad's needs are met. The caring, nursing, catering, maintenance and entertainment staff are amazing and attend to anything Dad needs, as well as dealing with all of the questions our family have! They are always respectful and smiling; nothing is too much trouble. The administration and reception staff are always very welcoming, helpful and efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending Nesbit House.
Mum seems well looked after and has settled in well, which makes me happy that we have chosen the right home for her.
Very friendly environment when visiting, made very welcome and given refreshments. Person we visited was very settled and happy. She feels she is getting the best from her stay at Nesbit House. Food excellent and staff appear friendly and willing to help.
A close friend of mine has been in Nesbit House for nearly eighteen months and has settled very well. The team are very attentive and caring and the food is exceptional, with a large selection of food available every day. The entertainment each day always provides a wide selection of things to do and my friend is very happy here. It is also spotlessly clean throughout and feels very homely.
The premises are smart, well-appointed and spotless. Management and admin staff are friendly, available and knowledgeable. The care and medical staff are very attentive and treat all residents with respect. A really great environment for all the residents! Highly recommended.
