View Full Details of ParklandsMy mother was admitted to Parklands in January 2024. The care home management and staff were very welcoming on our first visit. The whole environment is welcoming and friendly. Mum has settled in well after some gentle encouragement from the management and staff, I am contacted by the care home if there are any concerns with her which is very reassuring for myself and my family. There are varied activities provided by the activities coordinator which give good stimulation for the residents, they include board games, arts and crafts sessions, knit and natter, external musical entertainment, excellent gentle chair movements and animal visits which include birds of prey. They also provide external outings for the residents to garden centres and the seaside. Dogs are allowed into Parklands which is one aspect I love, as I can bring a friend's dog into the home which mum and residents really enjoy. I am emailed the monthly Parklands Newsletter. There is also a social media page.
A hospital discharge team arranged for my Dad to be transferred to Parklands and he has been a resident for 2 years. The Care Home Manager, Deputy Manager and Staff have all helped Dad to settle into the Parklands and reassure him when he is confused or anxious. If there is an issue or concern with my Dad, I am contacted by the Care Home Manager, Deputy Manager or Senior Staff member. If required and they feel appropriate, Parklands will seek further medical advice and keep me informed. Parklands has an activities coordinator and there are daily activities for example: board games and painting but also external visitors coming into the care home providing entertainment and exercise. My Dad enjoys participating in the activities and especially enjoys painting and dancing (with assistance). Their activities coordinator has arranged visits to the seaside and a local garden centre. Parklands has a social media page, so I can see what activities my Dad has been involved in.
Parklands is a warm friendly home in a lovely rural setting. Its aim is to keep local folk in this lovely home. My mum is cared for by some lovely staff who attend to her well and are always happy to help in any way possible to our family and friends but most of all to my mum. The manager always has time for you no matter how busy the home is and this filters down through with all the staff members. The under manager too is always multi tasking but always there to help and solve problems. Activities are varied and my mum is now doing things she hasn't done for years keeping her mobile and always thought-provoking. The staff member coordinates some great indoor and outdoor activities and is always there to help. The care is great with all residents considered for their individual needs. Food looks great and attention to detail within the home is meticulous from cleanliness to decor, fresh flowers always and good facilities all around. I am so pleased to have found Parklands.
The Parklands care home with beautiful views of the countryside always feels very welcoming and homely, with small areas for privacy when visiting and an outside area for sitting if weather permitting. The home is always kept very clean. The care of residents is excellent. The manager and her team treat the residents with dignity and respect. Always maintain high standards of care. The staff are very kind and friendly. They spend time with residents, are always willing to help in every way, and are very respectful to everyone. There are many inside and outside activities that residents can join in if they like and many books in the library. My husband sadly had to go into care, and he came to Parklands for just under three years. It was a hard decision to make but having visited the home felt it was the best place for him. I now visit Parklands as a visitor around twice a month and make friends with many of the residents and staff. I can’t say enough about this wonderful care home.
First and foremost the staff are caring and concerned for their residents in all that they do. They are always gentle, courteous and kind and nothing seems too much trouble. As a consequence, there is an air of peace and calm in the place. This emanates from the top. Please note: This care home is excellent.
Our friend is a resident at Parklands, the staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The manager makes time for a chat and is always happy to listen. Our friend has dietary requirements, the food is well-presented, healthy and nutritious. The rooms are spacious and decorated to a good standard, she has some of her own familiar things. When we visit, there is always an activity, sometimes outside people visit, play their instruments and encourage the residents to a sing song. A few weeks ago a falconer visited with some beautiful owls, even though our friend was in her room, the time was taken to bring a beautiful owl up to her. No one ever gets left out, the care shown is exceptional. Our friend is not too keen to leave her room but with care and patience breakfast has been taken in the dining room. We always thank the staff for caring and keeping her safe. Excellent teamwork on all levels. If seeking a residential home is for you, we can highly recommend Parklands.
