View Full Details of Heanor Park Care HomeMum came out of an 8 week stay in hospital to here, we were all greeted by smiling staff of all levels who were all very polite, helpful, caring and introduced themselves one by one. Mum's room is amazing and has a view that was more like home with uninterrupted views of the park. Every where is immaculate and it is no nice for her to be able to sit at a dining table to conversate with other residents. The care is first class and sorting out Nurses to come in every day to make sure mums insulin is correct. Very good menu with plenty of choices of food. The home has plenty of space in each area and is well led and supported by a good GP surgery and staff.
I was so apprehensive about moving Mum into a care home for a few weeks of respite care. I needn't have been. Mum's room and the communal areas were immaculate. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. All the staff at Heanor Par were brilliant, so supportive, so caring. First-class care. If further respite or even long-term care is ever needed in the future. I have no doubts at all about Mum moving to Heanor Park Care Home.
Mum was looked after in a friendly and professional way. Everyone was kind and very helpful with any queries. Mum enjoyed the food, loved her room and came home looking healthy and happy after a 3 week stay in October 2024. Mum said it was 5 star! An excellent experience for her and us as a family. Thank you.
My Father is in the Deaf unit and has been since May 2023, and the service that has been provided has been second to none, I couldn't think of a better place for him to be, after a difficult year prior to him being moved into the Deaf unit he was moved around place to place and things looked bleak, but with all the support of the great staff and management there, my dad has managed to flourish and call this place home, he has improved in so many ways due to the excellent care and support he has received and continues to improve. I visit regularly and my dad never has a bad word to say, he genuinely loves being there, and I do think he is many people's favourite resident there. His only complaint is that his room is too big!! Any questions and support that I or my father need are promptly seen to and I'm always kept in the loop with everything. 5-star place with wonderful staff and residents.
Heanor Park CareHome is a beautiful building and the staff is caring and kind. Rooms are cleaned regularly, and laundry is done quickly and efficiently. Hairdressing is provided and there is a spar bath. Activities are arranged and newspapers and non-alcoholic drinks are provided. Visitors are welcome and can bring pets to visit too. All carers are kind and attentive. However, the food is brought in pre-cooked by an outside source. The menu is tedious and old-fashioned and repeats on a weekly basis. The meals are warmed over in the kitchen and result in sloppy, inedible messes, or warmed in the microwave. Vegetables are cold and tasteless, pies and "bakes" take up the largest part of the menu, and the cheapest cuts of meat are used, judging by the unchewable meat. Salads can be prepared by the kitchen and are done beautifully, and sandwiches are brought in, but how many sandwiches can one eat?
Mum moved to Heanor Park in May 2024. I was very anxious about this but I genuinely wished I had done it sooner! She has been much happier and I feel I have my Mum back. The standard of care is great and the activities are amazing. Mum's mood has been low recently but after a trip out or great activity, she is much happier! The staff are all great, well trained and caring! Mum is much safer and happier now. Thank you, Heanor Park.
Grandma really liked staying at Heanor Park Care Home and said she would stay again if she needed support. I know that she was very impressed with all the staff, she said the place is beautiful but it is the staff that make the home special.
We decided a couple of weeks of respite care would be a good idea for my mum following a stay in the hospital. We could not have chosen a better place than Heanor Park. We felt that Mum was getting the best care there and was confident she was getting really well looked after. The actual home is beautiful in such lovely surroundings, all we could hear from her window was birdsong. She hugely enjoyed walking around the gardens which are very well kept. Her room was perfect, very clean with plenty of storage. The bathroom was modern and well-designed. The main thing that made her stay so special though was the staff. They were amazing. When we were visiting we were made to feel so welcome and were treated so kindly. Mum was always commenting on how lovely they all were. It was so reassuring to us to know she was so well cared for. I am happy to say that Mum is now back at home. Should she ever need care again it will be at Heanor Park without hesitation.
Mum came in for two weeks of respite. The home was just amazing, lovely, clean and comfortable. Mum's favourite thing was the staff. She said they were all so lovely. She also had her nails done, a massage and visiting from travelling zoo! I'm sure she'll be back at some point and I know we'll all be more than happy for Mum to be at Heanor.
An absolutely amazing care home, my grandma was really well looked after, with her enjoying the seating areas and plenty of outside space to walk around. Staff were always friendly and welcoming, and made the experience of visiting wonderful. Could not recommend enough!
I stayed for 16 days in Ormonde House. The room was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The very best thing was the staff, their kindness, care and patience was excellent. If I ever need respite again I shall certainly come here.
All carers have been helpful and very respectful to Dad, his care has been second to none. Dad is not really a mixer and enjoys his own company this has been well received and the carers have respected his wishes.
What a terrific experience my mum had following an operation. The staff here were so very welcoming and super friendly. All her needs were met with warmth and tenderness. She has spoken so highly of all the staff, the hairdresser (who made her feel like a million dollars) the residents and this includes the management who tended to any small request too. The rooms are beautifully equipped. As a close-knit family, we would highly recommend this care home.
Really lovely home. Very welcoming and inviting. Mum was very well looked after whilst in respite. The only thing that could’ve been better was activities. Mum was slightly bored at times but she wasn’t at the home for very long, only a few days, so maybe she didn't get to experience that part. Would have no hesitation in returning if needed longer term.
Care is outstanding, Mum is well looked after and it gives the family peace of mind that she’s safe. Lovely surroundings and the staff are so supportive. Would recommend services to anyone looking for care. The facilities are outstanding, food served is always different and enjoyed. Staff are very caring towards all residents, it’s home from home.
My mother has enjoyed the Sunday services, being led by the chaplain. She is disappointed that she is not always informed or updated but was grateful for a carer coming to her room to tell her it was about to start. Mum requires a special diet. She was disappointed that she had cottage pie for her Christmas dinner which is something she has regularly. There was no special Christmas dinner available. There were no different non-alcoholic drinks available from the usual selection. There is not a great choice of meals, but I have discussed this with the staff so hopefully this can change. She feels that there was more emphasis on New Year than Christmas by the carers and there was little 'excitement' and celebration of Christmas. My mother is appreciative of the care she receives from several carers. But she often has to wait for her breakfast; she often doesn't get woken up at 9 am as stated in her care plan; some staff don't know what to do to help her, or others, in the communal area.
I had health issues where I could not be by myself. I was able to gain admission to Heanor Park quickly and spend two weeks recuperating. This respite I found invaluable. I was given excellent care. I was able to return to my home and continue my life. I was not aware you could go into a care home for respite. This was a revelation. It is good to know such a facility is there when you need it.
My mother has been a resident since the home opened just before Covid in February 2020. She has been treated with kindness, dignity and respect. The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable. Management takes feedback well and acts on it. They have recently trialled a new food supplier who is excellent.
Have always been treated with respect and made to feel welcome when visiting my sister.
My mother has been a resident for three years. In that time her care has been outstanding. The home is always spotless and mum's room is beautiful. All staff are welcoming and very helpful. They are knowledgeable regarding Mum's welfare and if they aren't they will always find out.
