View Full Details of St Lauras Care HomeMy Mum went to st Laura's in December, she is very well cared for and there is definitely a family feel to the home. All the staff have been so supportive, especially management. The transition has been an emotional roller coaster for me, but Mum hasn't been aware of any of this. I feel happy and relaxed that she is in a lovely homely place and a her needs are very well supported. A big thank you to management, staff and all the carers there that makes Mums day special everyday. Thank you all so much.
The manager and the staff have been excellent in dealing with my uncle's complex and demanding issues. I couldn't believe that they could have managed such a complex and demanding situation with such care and ease. My uncle is always happy and comfortable and has great affection for all those who look after him as we have as we have for the staff that come day and night.
We are incredibly pleased with our decision to choose St Lauras Care Home for my father-in-law. From the moment we arrived a few months ago, we were met with warmth and professionalism from the manager and all the staff, who have consistently demonstrated kindness and genuine care. The team at St Lauras go above and beyond to provide outstanding care, ensuring that every resident's needs are met with compassion and attentiveness. The environment at St Lauras is both welcoming and comforting, and it's clear that the manager and staff take great pride in maintaining a high standard of care. My father-in-law has been thriving under their care and we feel completely at ease knowing he is in such capable hands. Choosing St Lauras was absolutely the right decision and we are beyond grateful for the positive experience we've had here. The dedication and expertise of the manager and all the staff truly set this care home apart.
My father moved into St Lauras almost three months ago. The care he has received since his arrival at the home has been second to none. The manager and all of her staff are kind, caring and very considerate. They look after my father (and indeed all of the residents) as if they are one of their own family members. Moving him into a care home was difficult, but I am one hundred per cent sure we made the right choice by choosing St Lauras. We know he is in safe hands under the care of the manager and the gang at St Lauras. Thank you all for everything that you do.
My father was always reluctant to discuss long-term care despite health crises from time to time. This month, aged nearly 98, he reached a point of deciding that he needed to move into a care home. We looked at 5 homes and were pleased that St Lauras had a vacancy as this was our first choice. Dad has settled very well indeed and we are delighted with all aspects of the home. In particular, I would commend the cheerful, encouraging manner of the manager and staff who have just the right mix of professionalism and personal, caring interest in the residents and their families.
So pleased with the care received by my family member. All the staff are warm, friendly and genuinely care. Nothing is too much trouble for them in helping my family member to settle. There are activities which people are encouraged to engage in as they choose. Food choices are catered to and would highly recommend this home.
My 89-year-old mother moved to St Laura's from another care home in June 2024. The manager and staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle in. The manager is very kind and she has not only been efficient, but she has also shown and leads the team who follow her example by delivering resident-focused care. Mum is always treated with dignity and kindness and all of her care needs are monitored. The atmosphere from when we walk into reception is warm and welcoming and this continues throughout the home. The communication between the manager and her staff and us as a family is wonderful. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. The food is varied and healthy. We as a family have no hesitation in recommending St Lauras.
My father has been well cared for since moving into St Lauras 18 months ago. Staff are unfailingly friendly and caring and are experts in working with people with dementia. My dad enjoys the regular outings and activities and shows every sign of thriving, within the limitations of his dementia and frailty. My siblings and I have no regrets about choosing St Lauras for our father.
We have found the staff very approachable, kind, knowledgable and patient. The food is excellent and plentiful. The rooms are kept clean as are the public areas. Occasionally there is a smell of urine which is hard to keep on top of, we are aware laundry is efficient. We feel my mother is well looked after.
Mum has now been a resident for 6 months and we have been really pleased at how well she is. The staff have always been very sensitive to what was a very hard decision for Mum and made the transition smooth and supportive. Staff are friendly and respond to communication very well. Visiting is easy and it is clear that Mum is cared for with patience and friendliness. Mum is not pushed into activities but there is a good range of potential events for a variety of interests. Any issues have been dealt with well. The location of the home is great for visits.
Both my mum and dad, who have dementia, came to St Lauras nearly a year ago. I am just so very happy, reassured and comfortable with the care they both receive. They are at different stages of dementia, and therefore, receive individual care to suit them personally. I receive updates all the time so I know exactly how they are. I have therefore rated St Lauras accordingly.
From her very first day at St Lauras, my mum has been treated with so much kindness, empathy and warmth. I am so grateful to all of the team for their hard work and dedication. There is nothing I could suggest for improvement, and I have never had any reason to worry or complain about my mum's care and experience. In addition, the friendliness and welcoming attitude towards relatives (including children and dogs!) means that there is a wonderful feeling of community that extends beyond residents. Thank you!
My mother-in-law has settled very well at St Laura, she is happy and well cared for, which we can see every time we visit. All the staff are friendly and welcoming from the manager, carers, and domestic staff. Due to the language barrier, the carers go out of their way to look up phrases so that they can communicate with her. She is engaging in the daily activities and we have often seen her singing and dancing with a carer when we visit. Her eating is a bit of an issue due to her taste buds changing and the carers often ask what her favourite foods are and accommodate accordingly. All the staff are very approachable and always greet us with a smile. Having worked in care myself, I know how care should be delivered, and so far I am very impressed and feel confident that my mother-in-law is in the right place. One of the carers stayed over their shift at 8 pm, talking to us on a visit about my mother-in-law and asking questions so she could learn more to help care for her better.
My nan has been at St Laura's for over a year. I struggled at first with letting go and allowing strangers to care for her as she is my world. But over a year later she is settled and she's happy and loves all the staff. I spend a lot of time there so I do get to see what goes on day to day, this helps me get a genuine view of how the staff are with the residents. So far I haven't come across any negativity towards any residents, they're all treated with respect and everyone is like a big family. They have regular trips out and activities. They have continental style 3 days a week (croissants/fruit ) hot breakfast most days and residents can request anything specific to their needs. My nan is always well dressed, clean and showered every day. She's always encouraged to join in with activities to try and keep her busy. The manager is one of the most caring people I have ever met, she's always there if I need to vent and will listen to any concerns/ideas, I promise you won't regret choosing St.Laura's
We have used St Laura's Care Home several times for respite care for Mum over the last couple of years. It is such a warm and friendly atmosphere and Mum always feels so welcome as the staff are delighted to see her each time. As it was only built a few years ago, St Laura's has all the facilities Mum needs to be comfortable. The management and staff have all been so thoughtful and caring while looking after Mum, especially with her dementia and mobility issues. It's always reassuring to know she's so well looked after when I need to take a break.
The staff at St Lauras are kind and attentive, whether it's assisting with daily tasks or simply offering a friendly smile with a cup of tea and a listening ear, they go above and beyond to ensure the comfort and well-being of all residents. The purpose-built building is clean and provides a warm and welcoming environment for residents. My mother enjoys the cosy and comfortable communal areas which are scattered around. The grounds offer a peaceful retreat for residents to enjoy. One of the standout features of the care home is the wide range of activities available to residents. From arts and crafts to fitness classes and outings, there's something for everyone to enjoy. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into planning these activities. Overall, I couldn't be more impressed with St Lauras. My mother has taken to living at what she proudly calls her home and we are extremely impressed with the caring and supportive environment she is fortunate to experience.
A huge thank you to all the staff at St Lauras for the care and attention they have shown my mother-in-law since arriving there a couple of months ago. The staff were keen to get to know her which, in turn, helped her settle in quite quickly. Seeing her get involved in the activities showed us that she was feeling confident in her new home. This in turn made us feel confident that she was well cared for. Staff are keen to ensure she enjoys her food and work closely with the chef, who is only too pleased to provide an alternative if she does not fancy what she ordered. We know it’s early days for our relative but we believe the great start can only lead to a long and happy time at St Lauras. Thank you to the whole team.
We were very impressed with how quickly the team at St Laura’s were able to accommodate our elderly aunt for two weeks respite following a hospital stay. The manager and her team were efficient, friendly and caring whilst making sure our aunt was comfortable. Our family were all made to feel welcome in the home right from the start. Our Aunt was able to recuperate with all her medical needs being addressed and actually reviewed in a beneficial way for her. She quickly adapted to life in the care home taking delight in telling us about the quizzes or her latest hairdressing appointment. Sadly her time in care was curtailed by underlying health issues and led to an untimely hospital admittance. We received nothing but care, concern and unfortunately heart felt condolences when we lost our beloved auntie. Sometimes you meet someone who makes a real difference with positive impact-we feel this happened when we met the manager so a big thank you especially to her and also to all the team at St Laura’s.
Excellent care and compassion shown towards my Mother. Her first Christmas away from her family and the staff at St Laura's made her feel like Christmas was special. She is receiving very good personal attention and is a lot happier than when she was attempting to look after herself in her own home.
My sister has been living at St Lauras for just over a year and has been looked after very well. Despite her health problems she has been enjoying the activities very much, which has settled her considerably. The meals are exceptionally good, with alternative choices. My sister certainly enjoys meal times too with the other residents in the dining room. I visit my sister most days and have got to know all the staff very well. Everyone is so kind and always there for the residents and their families. St Lauras has a lovely atmosphere of kindness and genuine care. I am very happy to know that my sister is in good and caring hands. I also attended a dementia field session for the residents' families, which was incredibly beneficial to us all. I was very grateful for this opportunity. A big thank you to all the amazing staff at St Lauras.
