View Full Details of Roche Abbey Care HomeMy mum has been in the care home for two years now. Everything she needs, she gets. Staff are all brilliant with her, she really gets on with all of them. Food is of good quality. All her needs are catered for and the staff keep all residents occupied, from games to having a singer from time to time. Last year I was allowed to sit with my mum while she had her Christmas dinner, which was a lovely thing for them to do. Overall, a brilliant home.
I thought the end of life care was good until my Mother's death. She passed away on a Friday night but I only found out when I went to visit on Sunday morning. In other words the care home did not notify me of her passing.
The care home has a very friendly atmosphere. All the staff are so friendly and very kind to the residents. I have met management, who are very nice and seem to have the best interest in making the home a perfect home for the elderly. As a family, we cannot get over how clean and tidy it is. The decor is nice, calming, and to a high standard. There are no bad smells whatsoever, and I feel very comfortable that my mum is residing in the home. The home is very secure, with no way of the residents coming to any harm or going missing. I have nothing bad to say about the home.
I had the hard decision of finding a residential place for my mum, after a diagnosis of dementia. Whilst fighting Adult Services, with them wanting to send Mum home from hospital with carers, which wasn't safe for her after having a few falls ending up with broken bones. We visited Roche Abbey along with others, the warm peaceful feeling and greeting we received from the manager and deputy manager made the decision for us. It's immaculately clean with excellent food. Now the feeling of knowing Mum is safe and well cared for is such a relief for us as a family, but also for me, they also check on my dad regularly when he visits. He was so lost without her and the staff have involved him so he feels like he is still part of the team caring for Mum. They ask how he is doing on a daily basis. I will always be thankful to this group of amazing people for giving my mum the amazing care and respect she deserves. Thank you very much for your hard work and commitment. I would highly recommend Roche Abbey.
After living at home for fifteen years mum finally had to go into permanent care and is now ninety-one. This was a big decision to make and a very hard one. The adaptation for both mum and myself was a hard one but I am so relieved and happy that mum has settled really really well and this is down to the meticulous care and consideration the staff have given. After a recent meeting with one of the managers about mum's care going forward, I left with feelings of confidence, relief, and good feelings that mum was being extremely well cared for. Every time I visit mum she is happy and content and has praise for all the staff it is so nice to see. Important to mum she also always says how nice the food is. No bad observations to make?
My mother went for respite care, she really wasn't well and I requested she stay as she has had marvellous care on residential and now on nursing. I would recommend this home, the staff are all friendly and professional.
I have just left this fabulous care home after an 11-month stay. I would highly recommend it. All the staff are so very helpful and friendly. The home is kept spotless and your dietary needs are catered for too.
No rehabilitation for my friend who has been in the home for several months and has had no input whatsoever. No confidence/skill building and basically left to sit on her bed all day. Flouting of COVID rules, actually allowing a patient to leave the home and then recalling her because she should not have been let go without negative test results being received!! Thus putting other people at risk.
