View Full Details of Ashton ManorMy father-in-law moved into Ashton Manor in October 2024 following a stay in hospital. We were unsure at the time if the move would be permanent or just for respite. He quickly settled within the home, along with his wife and received amazing support from the staff. Through being at Ashton Manor he has received excellent oversight of his care needs, with the team liaising with various health professionals. He has gained weight and looks wonderful for his age. He can now spend quality time with his wife without the pressures of managing a household, reducing the pressures on myself and my wife. Thank you to the whole team.
My mother has recently relocated to Ashton Manor in the North West, to be near to family. This is not easy for her after 40 years down South. However, the staff at Ashton Manor have been very helpful and supportive. She is enjoying her new home and the level of care is excellent. She has fairly high needs and the staff have adapted to her without any problem. Medical and health matters are being addressed promptly and without fuss. Her sleeping is already much improved. It is early days for mother but there are clearly lots of activities in the home if the guests wish to take part. My mother also rates the food and nutrition highly, which can be taken in the room or in the dining areas. Ashton Manor is clean and modern. It is welcoming for family and guests. We have been made to feel part of the family. We have a high degree of trust in the management and staff. Communication is also very good.
The process of integrating my dad into Ashton Manor has been outstanding. It was emotionally difficult to admit him, but the staff welcomed my dad with sensitivity and care when he arrived in July. Since then he has come to feel that Ashton Manor is his proper home. He has mixed dementia so his issues are complex. The positivity and sensitivity of staff during interactions have always been impressive and the Christmas period was beautifully celebrated. My father is an artist, though sadly this is impaired by his condition and the arthritis which prevents him from performing with any manual dexterity. His work is on the walls in his room, and staff frequently inquire about its meanings and why a particular title has been selected. My dad's answers are frequently varied and may sound obscure but staff always discuss it with him. Staff are always welcoming and delightful to talk with. They offer a lot of detail about what they have been talking about with my dad. I don't worry anymore.
A relaxed environment performed in difficult circumstances. Full marks to the staff at Ashton Manor. A very dedicated team of carers who have been instrumental in bringing her back from a difficult trauma to her present strength.
I could not have found a better place anywhere for respite care. All the staff were caring, compassionate and friendly. A lot of work went into special events of which there were many ie barbeques and games afternoon. It was spotless and clean, no nasty smells. Food was very varied with a good choice. In no way could I fault anything. I feel privileged to have stayed here.
My father suffered from dementia and parkinsons, he came to the home directly from the hospital. From the very start, the staff were wonderful, they were all professional, they kept me and my family fully informed of issues. In the short time my father was in the home he was looked after very well and respectfully. I can't thank you all enough for letting him retain his dignity in his last few days. My mother and I were able to spend his last moments together. The staff were again supportive and respectful to our loss. Thank you so much.
Ashton Manor is a beautiful, modern care home. As soon as I walked through the front door I could feel the love and affection my husband would get. It isn't just a building, it is the staff, all the way from management to young carers, everyone who worked there. They provided us with anything we wanted in a truly professional way. Thank you very much, my husband had the best treatment and died with dignity.
Mum spent 5 weeks in Ashton Manor (AM). Mum had some mobility and communication issues and we needed a home that could support Mum while she received rehabilitation. Our main reasons for choosing AM were that every room has a full en-suite, wet room/bathroom and that staffing levels - especially overnight - seem higher than other care homes. During Mum's stay, we were impressed with other aspects of AM. Rooms and corridors are large, bright, airy and clean. There are sitting rooms that feel homely and not institutional. Food is good and there is a program of activities to keep residents physically and mentally active. Most important was the level of care and support provided. We felt Mum was safe and well looked after. Medication was administered safely, assistance with personal needs was provided quickly and with dignity, staff was friendly and kind. Yes, AM fees are a bit higher than other homes, but I feel the incremental cost is worth it for the difference in care.
We cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and care they showed to my aunt in enough words that will explain our gratitude to them. They took care of her every need to the very end and went above and beyond not just for her but for us her family and friends every step of the way. They made a difficult time so much easier and we would recommend Ashton Manor to everyone looking for a home that cares about their residents and their families too. Thank you!
Our mum came to Ashton Manor in April and has settled really well. All members of staff have been so caring and obviously take pride in their work. They cannot do enough for Mum and have such a lovely manner. There are always interesting and engaging activities available. Family and friends always feel welcome and a part of the community at Ashton Manor. Thank you to all involved.
My mum has just moved into Ashton Manor having been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year. Having looked around various care homes, I’m so thankful we found Ashton Manor. This place is the most perfect place for Mum, the staff are just fantastic, have helped us all as a family, helped Mum settle in and feel safe and she’s already making new friends. The staff are very attentive, not just with Mum and other residents, but also with our family. I can’t thank them enough for what they have done for us in such a short space of time.
Ashton Manor is worth far more than 5 stars. The staff are second to none and the care given...outstanding. My father was admitted in August last year with vascular dementia. He was taken there from the hospital unable to walk, talk properly or feed himself and not able to communicate virtually a cabbage of his former self. He can now walk, feed himself, go to the toilet and engage in conversation. Without the care and understanding given by all at Ashton Manor, I can honestly say I would not have a dad now. The rooms and cleanliness are extremely good and you always are made welcome when visiting. There is always someone keeping you informed about his progress and they are always available to speak to. Cannot thank or recommend them enough. If you are looking for somewhere for your family member, it's the hardest thing to do to say you need them in a home but I honestly think you can't find anywhere better. Many heartfelt thanks to them all.
My friend moved into Ashton Manor a year ago and since then I have been a regular visitor. I have always found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and attentive to all residents. I quite often sit and have a coffee in the reception area and watch the comings and goings and I have to say that I have never come across a time when staff have not greeted people, whether it be a resident returning from a trip out or a delivery person, with the biggest and most welcoming smile. My friend is very happy in his home. You can see what a great place it is just by the smiles and happy conversations of all residents. Well done Ashton Manor, you're all great!
Ashton Manor is a fantastic place for my mum. This was her first Christmas in the home and they made it very special. Lots of events, a wonderful atmosphere. The whole team made it special. On the day the manager and her whole family visited delivering gifts and spreading good cheer. Above and beyond what I would have expected. Mum is still talking about how she has had a great time. I highly recommend Aston Manor great care and lovely community.
My mum has been struggling with early Alzheimer’s, we needed a very specific and bespoke care for Mum. I knew Ashton Manor was for us on my initial phone call. Everything about Ashton Manor is completely professional with the highest of standards but combined with the most wonderful people I could ever ask for to look after my mum! We’ve only been here a week to this day, but a weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing my mum has the best care I could have asked for, combined with a home-from-home feeling that we all benefit from. We already feel we’re part of the family. Thank you.
Almost 12 months ago we (residents’ daughter and son) were searching for a care home to look after our Dad and his partner. He had recently been diagnosed with Dementia and they were struggling to care for themselves at home. Ashton Manor and the excellent staff have provided them with a new home which is warm, safe, clean and caring. They have both benefitted greatly from good food, social contact and activities. They now feel as secure and contented as possible. The staff are skilled and conscientious and treat Dad and his partner with kindness and respect allowing their dignity to be maintained. It is very important for us to know that they have this high standard of care as we live a considerable distance from Lancaster. We have confidence in the staff at Ashton Manor and know that they will take good care of Dad and his partner and keep us informed of any problems.
The staff at Ashton Manor were exceptional in their attitude towards my mum. They were outstanding in their respect towards her and us as family members. They were very caring, engaging her in conversation and encouraging her to participate in various activities. We couldn't fault them and recommend them to everyone.
From first contact with the home when requesting a brochure, and subsequently arranging a visit for myself and the friend who was looking for permanent care, the response and the reception that I received was excellent. Ashton Manor had been recommended to us, and it has certainly lived up to my expectations. My friend was able to choose her room, which is light, bright, well furnished and a good size unlike some that I have seen when visiting people in other places. The practical care and calm, generally patient way in which the staff relate to the residents has caused my friend, in the two weeks that she has been there, to comment that they are kind and caring, the food is excellent and her bed is very comfortable. Since becoming a resident participation in the various activities offered has had a very positive effect on her, and her general mobility has improved. The music sessions have played a large part in helping her to settle in her new home, and given comfort to us both.
When I was looking for a care home I felt very lucky to find Ashton Manor, it was the first one I looked at and I didn't bother going anywhere else. My mum was a resident for 2 and half years and during that time she was looked after in the most caring way possible. The building and facilities are top-notch, the food is great and the rooms are lovely. Both managers during Mum's time there were excellent. Engagement with the family members has improved much since Mum's arrival, there were regular meetings at which requests were noted, and many were acted upon quickly. By far the best thing about Ashton Manor however is the staff. The carers who looked after Mum with her failing health were absolutely fantastic. Not living near the home, I relied upon the staff to make sure my Mum had everything she needed or wanted between visits. It was hard leaving her but I knew that she was cared for and loved and this gave me a huge amount of comfort.
From our first visit to arrange her latest stay, we can’t thank everyone at Ashton Manor for the care my mother received. She herself has spoken on how kind and helpful everyone had been to her. Her only dislike was the mattress on the bed, but she was told they were under review.
